He's super streaky. He has the ability to put up huge numbers, but then he also goes quiet for a while.

...also, it takes a lot of nerve to demand a trade when you're fresh off a 1-year suspension.

I watch a lot of pitt games, as that is what market I live in. his stats say he is streaky, only because he plays with AB. They will force balls to AB when Bryant is WIDE open, because they know AB is the bread and butter of their offense and want to keep him happy. That's what his complaint is..... FYI, talk is now they are considering cutting him according to Pittsburgh radio host Mark Madden. he would be a nice piece to have with offensively for a team struggling at WR position, as well as going into next with what looks like will be another rookie qb to groom.

I despise diva WR's and they can be a cancer on the team, but the facts are about half of the WR's in the NFL are diva's. You just have to pick and choose what you are willing to live with.
It should also be said that if you happen to have a good WR that isn't a diva, he is worth a premium to keep on your team. He’s ain’t done squat ... NADA .. not sure why u guys think he is so good ... He’s all ready been suspended for a year ... Ya ... lets bring him in ... sounds like a solid choice all the way around ... He’s not proven diddly, hes been suspended for a year all ready and hes a WHINING LITTLE BEATCH ... Good choice boys ... LOL, I'm not sure why you are arguing that with me. I'm not a Bryant fan. We already have plenty of guys that can run a go route and nobody to get them the ball. What we need is a true number one WR or a possession WR.

Give me a Jarvis Landry, Adam Thielen, Keenan Allen, or Doug Baldwin. They are also better than any WR that we have on the team and we can actually move the chains with one of them. Once you get the chains moving, then you can start looking at someone to run the Go route. Those guys will also block for you and Bryant doesn't want to do that.

I hear you and all the analysts as well.
I think WR is way over rated...yes I understand it is no longer a 3 yards and a cloud of dust game.
My point is that there are SOOOOOOooo many good WRs coming out of college that its not that hard to fill in.
Yeah everyone wants that Size, speed thing. But that isn't the key to WR at least winning football WR.
Route running...will to win and sacrifice and most of all GREAT HANDS! that is the key to WR.
We pick up guys off the street and they come in and look rather good. Williams and the other kid #11. If we have a franchise QB those guys are enough...and we need 5 of them I've always professed.
And I've always stated once we got the team built if we wish to invest high in a WR go right ahead.
But I think Fantasy Football has gotten most of those who love football over rating the WR position as it has great value in fantasy but not the same in real football.
Odds of getting 5 Antonio Browns are greater than 5 Calvin Johnsons. Its those types I would hope we pursue more than the draft big WRs and hope the mud will stick to the wall!

I know you have said this for years. Yet there are only a handful of premiere WR's in the league. If you're referring to there being a plethora of mediocre WR's I agree with you.
The one glaring weakness I see in what you're saying is this.... You say "My point is that there are SOOOOOOooo many good WRs coming out of college that its not that hard to fill in."
If this is true, why have we been so very poor at the WR position for so many years? If they're so easy to get, we must REALLY SUCK at picking any of these "Sooooo many good WR's".
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

jmho I agree to an extent. But i don't think you realize why i want to get him now. Get him now, its not going to do anything for us this year. But it will give him half a season and an entire training camp to get comfortable with the team for when we get another WR and QB. We will be in a much better position to excel.

Yep, that is my point we do suck at it...lol
Go look back at all our picks...early or later.
Biggest missing ingredient has been.....GREAT or even GOOD HANDS!
We always go for the GA GA effect instead of solid football.
Why I like this guy Williams over Britt...on paper Britt hands down. IN FOOTBALL all day everday this kid Williams.
Coleman big pick not putting it down but the ingredient he has is - well his hands are not great.
Why draft a freaking WR high if his hands are not GREAT!
Oz has a problem drafting WRs as well which is odd cause he was a great one.
Why I like Njoku and Devalve in our air game...I like their hands...then their talent.
Why I like DUKE any day all day in our air game...kid has HANDS.
Look at all the guys we have drafted who have cement hands. Quincy Morgan, Little, etc. Yeah we suck at drafting WRs...I think we get desperate and panic and then reach as physical specimens hoping for the STUD which is not necessary to win football games. You don't need that Calvin Johnson you need Antonio Brown you need Edelman, heck even the Cowboys now ride on the little guy when they are hitting on him for first downs and TDs. Sure its great to get a Dez Bryant type but the expense to a. draft him and b. sign them to the 2nd contract is it really essential to winning football.
Look at what Pryor wanted...its not the position to go over board on. Just know what you are doing and looking for. Look at us presently...going for any BIG WR out there forget about hands and route running lets make those hands better but he is BIG...screw that take the 10 little guys and keep the 5 that float to the top! and I'm not saying don't take the stud...heck if he's BPA...go right ahead but don't reach or over pay for them! jmho

Bryant would give the Browns offense at legitimate match up threat at WR.none of the Browns WRS create issues with a defense Football is all exposing mismatches and going after it over and over Bryant does alot of things that Browns WR can't simply do. Highpoint the football Accelerate after catch His rate of tds per catch is heads above anyone's on the Browns He's a upgrade at a affordable price

the worry I would always have with trading for a player: if he's available for a trade, something is usually wrong ... and that something is usually exacerbated when he arrives at the new, BAD team.
IMO, we lucked out with Collins and his attitude and effort. Bryant could easily turn into a big headache with little results because we have no QB
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Thanks for the response. I disagree with you to an extent, but not by that much. lol
I believe if you actually look around the league and count the WR's who can get open on a consistent basis, (sound route runners), and then look at the WR's who also have good hands, that number isn't as high and those skills combined aren't as easy to find as you seem to suggest.
We do agree about Njoku and while I believe Devalve has good hands I believe he lacks a lot of the athletic ability that Njoku possesses. I too like Williams over Britt. I was in the minority that didn't see Britt as a good signing at the time.
I don't believe that it's a bad thing to pay big for a WR. But as you pointed out, those worth that kind of investment are few and far between.

A WR can make things happen, we have seen it. Look what a healthy Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow Jr did for DA that year. We have never had great QB, but we have had Receivers who put up numbers, despite poor qb play.

I don’t think hes eligible for the practice squad ... but i could be wrong ...
Just pulled this up ...
Martavis Bryant - WR - Steelers
Martavis Bryant said coach Mike Tomlin told him he'll be inactive for Sunday night's Week 8 game against the Lions.
Bryant said the reason Tomlin gave him was "social media" after he lashed out again on Instagram following the Week 7 win, saying he was better than JuJu Smith-Schuster and calling for the Steelers to grant Bryant his wish and trade him. It's probably only a one-week thing, but we'll have to see next week. Bryant will need to tone it down. Justin Hunter is expected to take his place.
Source: Ed Bouchette on TwitterOct 25 - 3:36 PM This may be a wee bit risky ...
JuJu is in the same boat as MG ... sunday JuJu finished the game with no problems ... never had anything happen that they even checked on the sidelines ... came in to the the facility on Monday with concussion like symptoms and is now in the protocol ...
If he’s ruled out ... they may need this jackass ...

Bryant is a malcontent. We already have one disaster in Britt and people want to actually try and trade for this guy?
Holy smokes, he's about the last person a team like the Browns needs right now.
Making decisions out of desperation rarely leads to positive results.

it's not like having him would make our WR corps worse... get him in time to stick it to the steelers and he would probably be a happy camper lol

He's not going to the practice squad. The Steelers are making him inactive for the game and making him work with the scout team.
Essentially, he's being benched for the game.

Hue Jackson should take lessons. I think Tomlin is a good head coach. However, I think he has a lot more talent to work w/than Hue Jackson does. Even though I knew it was coming when I looked at the roster this year, it is still disappointing that so many "fans" are blaming Hue for our problems.

I know I'm in the minority but I think Tomlin is a great coach. Love how he manages his team and players. It's not just Tomlin, it's the culture in the organizations as a whole. Steelers: Bryant becomes a distraction to the team and they put him on the scout team and make him inactive. Browns: Kenny Britt ignores curfew rules, gets sent home early on a plane and starts the very next Sunday.
