My guess on Pryor is that while he is an immensely talented athlete, as a Wr he has issues with being in the right place when he is supposed to be there.

Please don't ask for links, this is purely speculation on my part based on some observations.

Diam...does anyone know who is responsible for collecting the stat information on these websites?

Does nfl.com collect info on drops?

I don't know how legit the numbers are..but that was the best info available.

Pryor's numbers have declined since the move just as Britt has "totally tanked"...and now he HATES EVERYTHING.. saywhat .

Moral to the story (and note to FO)..free agents are not always the solution...you listening SASHI?...lol

I would take Pryor over Britt in a heartbeat, especially playing for Hue in Hue's offense. But don't expect a Harvard Boy to understand that concept.

...but hey, the Browns are (again) in the running for that CAP SPACE trophy... crazy

You can't have too many good receivers...

There is absolutely no basis that says Sashi is forcing Hue to play Britt.

Look at what Mike Tomlin is doing in Pitt. He doesnt have 53 man control, but he is telling Bryant to go kick rocks.

The FO has plenty of blame to take on signing Britt. But Hue is the one who keeps him active and starting.

In Pittsburgh, the HC has huge input into who remains on their 53 man roster. Tomlin also has worked closely with GM Colbert on the draft.

But first, look at the kind of individual the Steelers hired for their GM. Cobert had 20 yrs of experience in coaching college football, scouting for the Pros and Director of scouting before the Steelers hired him as their Director of Football Operations/GM in 2000.

NOW, compare the Steelers management structure to Sashi Brown and the setup Haslam created for the Browns.

Can you believe it...the Browns have only won 1 game in two years (24 games) with this management set up?

Below is the story that goes with the link willit posted, above...

Report: Browns feuding over WR Kenny Britt

Kenny Britt causing a rift between Browns front office and coaching staff.

Josh Edwards - Oct 24, 3:42 PM

Cleveland Browns veteran wide receiver Kenny Britt has hardly contributed on the field.

He has become a distraction off-the-field as well. Britt was sent home early after missing curfew prior to the Houston Texans game. He was reportedly out with quarterback DeShone Kizer the night of his trip to the bar.

ESPN's Tony Grossi adds that "Britt has been the ringleader of a group of receivers who occasionally interrupt interviews in the locker room with loud, obnoxious behavior."

A few years ago, the organization found themselves in a precarious situation with another veteran wide receiver - Dwayne Bowe. His presence divided the front office and coaching staff to the point where it made co-existing impossible.

(Sign up for our FREE email newsletter and do not miss any Browns breaking news as they prepare for a showdown with the Vikings!)

The same appears to be playing out with Britt.

"A similar scenario is unfolding between Sashi Brown and Jackson involving Kenny Britt, though Jackson hasn’t had the guts to completely shut down Britt as Pettine did Bowe. Britt’s counter-productivity on the field is beyond dispute. But his destructiveness off the field has been no less damaging," via ESPN.com.

The 29 year old signed a four year deal worth $32.5 million in the off-season, including $17 million guaranteed. His past should have been a major red flag for the organization.

The Rams were not sad to see him go as evidence in this ESPN article.

"Kenny Britt was an accomplished yet enigmatic receiver who was not considered a positive influence in the locker room."

He has ten receptions this season for 128 yards and a touchdown, which is sixth most on the team.

Same as Hue has here. Sashi has final call but its been made clear, time and again, that Hue has plenty of input.

Especially on QB.

You have to wonder how Haslam feels about his front office giving Britt $17 mill guaranteed after giving $15 mill to Osweiler for a 2nd round pick?

That 2nd round pick better turn out to be a Hall of Fame player...lol.

Haslam and his Harvard front office can spend $32 mill in the Britt and Osweiler deals...but they just can't find the money to resign their own free agents.

big...you don't have a clue what you are talking about..Tomlin has say in who is on the 53 man roster..does Hue?

Do you believe that Hue chose to draft Cody Kessler?

Do you believe Kizer was Hue's preferred choice this draft?

Yes. To all 3.

He also played a huge role in signing RG3 instead of drafting Carson Wentz.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000...private-workout

And...

http://www.espn.com/blog/cleveland/post/...-will-intensify

I suppose we can act like Hue was never involved in these decisions, or that he has been given these QBs against his will.

But it simply is not true. He has had his guys all along. He started RG3 over McCown. Hue said "trust me" on Cody. Hue said to blame him if Kizer does not work out.

I dont know or care if the front office deserves a free pass. But I feel confident that Hue is a bigger part of the problem than he is the solution.

So... the offer the Browns put on the table for Pryor was better than any other offer Pryor may receive in his lifetime, yet the Browns were wrong not to overpay him?

The target was Britt if Pryor failed to sign. Not every team hits on every FA. And I'm sure they wanted Pryor to stay, but they simply weren't going to overpay for him.

Unless Pryor has a miraculous second half to the season, no one is going to pay him the 15 million he so covets.

And I guess I can keep saying this but some will never understand it... the final say on the 53 man roster isn't really as relevant as many think it is. Almost all decisions on the 53 man roster will come from the combined efforts of the coaching staff and FO. That's just simply how it works. "Tie-breakers" so to speak will be at the hands of Sashi, and who knows, we may have never had a "tie-break" situation.

I overall agree with you, and I would also add that no matter how you feel about Sachi and the FO, they have been owning their responsibility on most of the questionable decisions, namely the trading down and the cuts we had.

On the other hand, and at least the picture that is being painted by some, Hue is not owning to any of his responsibilities...

I would in conclusion say that I would never want a Coach that is completely indifferent to players , so in my eyes is much worst to have a coach that accepted a job without any say on the 53 roster, than a coach that missed on some players.

A coach that is incapable of throwing his weight behind a player he thinks is a fit for his team, and to cut the ones are making his life harder.

So in he end, and no matter how I see it, Hue always comes in a bad light. Not only he is a terrible game coach, but he is pathetic has a leader and talent nurturer. He's just another hired gun, and that's the last thing we need of a coach right now.

We need passion, that's the only way I can see turning this thing around.

IMO if the ball hits you in the helmet, facemask, shoulder pads, chest, stomach, gonads, thighs, knees, biceps. forearms, or hands and you don't catch it then it's a drop.

Im not pinning it entirely on Hue.

But he is not the innocent bystander some paint him to be.

He is a part of the failed thought process here. He is a big part of the blame. He is clearly no qb guru

I think the FO is more to blame than Hue, but that doesn't mean Hue is not to blame at all. This KB situation has me fuming made at the FO and Hue. And goes to show you that the culture here is NOT winning football.

Not saying that the FO and the coaching staff's relationship isn't tense, I'd imagine it is after an abysmal 1-22 start.

However, if Hue truly wants Britt cut and Sashi is refusing to do so. Wouldn't the logical step for Hue to take during this feud is just to bench him every single game, much like Pettine did with Bowe. Instead Hue has been starting Britt.

I would, unless Hue was told by Sashi to start him or be fired?? I don't know, that's speculative. Its painstakingly obvious Britt should not be playing. Maybe hue is letting him play to spite sashi and prove he was wrong in signing him.....

and if I recall, petting played bowe ALOT

For the most part i agree ... BUT then there’s plays like the ball DK threw on the slant ... he threw it behind him and all the reciever could do is reach his hand back and tip it ... no way in hell Britt could have caught that ball but it hit is hand .... that was NOT A DROP IMO ...

I just don't see how continuing to let people who know ZERO about NFL football make decisions on how an NFL team should be run makes any sense. It's been two years. Do you really want to "stay the course"? At what point of failure do you say "Hey, we probably need some football people to run the football team."

I mean, Jimmy doesn't know what he's doing. That is as clear as day. Maybe he needs to get someone in here who knows what needs done for the Browns to be a viable NFL franchise.

As far as 2018 goes...IF this leadership group is kept...they need to really turn things around. 2 or 3 wins won't do it.

I can't see any scenario that the FO remains intact next year, not saying they will all be fired, but I think at minimum, someone else is going to be handling the football side.

Although there is a lot with FO I disagree with, YES. IT HAS ONLY BEEN TWO YEARS. How many times will you and others learn that two years is not enough time. The def is vastly improved.

Tearing down the team when petting left was needed, loading up draft picks was needed, good solid drafts are needed, and we have been doing that the last two years. Are there issues that need ironed out, absolutely....but we can fire everyone. I will make a case on sasi about the Britt signing and at the least he needs to cut britt or move aside, but we cannot change the whole thing again.

They spent 2 years on the def addressing it, you are seeing gains in year 2. they will address the offense this offseason, and the next and you will see those gains then. DAY they told us this was going to be a 5 year plan. They have not lied about that. Just some fans have different expectations.

I don't understand these comments.

We have Andrew Berry and Ken Kovash as our football guys. Berry spent seven years with the Colts, including four as their scouting coordinator.

Football guy Bill Polian, a hall of fame football guy at that, states, "Andrew Berry is one of the brightest young men we ever had the pleasure of working with. He came to us very early in his career and very soon we realized he was on a fast track. I am not surprised the Browns hired him for this very important position. I assure you he has both the capacity and the will to do an outstanding job. The Browns have made, in my humble opinion, a great hire.”

Andrew Berry was considered a rising star who was on the fast track for a general manager position.

We got him as VPPP. We gave the same position to Ken Kovash, who spent three years with Dallas as their Senior Analytics Manager before landing a job in Cleveland for three years as Director of Football Research. He, also, is a VPPP.

We've also added Ryan Grigson, who was a GM in Indy for four years and a DPP for three years in Philly before that.

They provide the scouting, and report directly to Sashi Brown, who is supposed to weigh the options equally between how the scouts feel and how the coaches feel about specific players in their system. It's hard to blame Jimmy for liking this approach given his first football guy, Ray Farmer, liked to try and jam his square pegs in to Pettine's round hole (Pun intended, because Farmer fu#%ed Pettine multiple times) and generally liked to disregard any input the coaches might have advised. It chased of Shanahan early, and ultimately left the Browns roster in ruins.

The whole "Football guy" argument stinks of an outdated mentality that objects to systems and checks that have become standard in today's NFL. Like 31 other teams don't have an analytics department, listen to their coaches and operate in an intermediate role between allowing discussion and conclusions to be reached amongst the various departments that all provide input regarding what direction is best for the team.

Sashi Brown is the not-billionaire version of Jerry Jones. Seems powerful, but ultimately listens to what everyone has to say, attempts to fairly hear everyone out and go a direction that is mediated to the most logical and fair point of general agreement.

The team isn't going to get it right every time, I'm sure there are decisions they want back, but there was little to nothing that could be done that would turn this team around in under a year and a half - especially considering that first year was trying to clean up the mess that the last egotistical, I-know-best football guy made.

When I hear "football guy" all I hear is the sound of Holmgren promising not to give the media playoff tickets that he'd never earn and Farmer costing the team big money for calling the sideline to demand that Dwayne freaking Bowe get more reps because football guys know best.

I'm not so sure that people are thinking things through when it comes to trying to blame Hue so much. Now let me preface that with saying Hue has made mistakes. But let's be honest here. We don't have a QB. We don't have any WR's. Opposing teams are putting eight men in the box to stop the run and force the QB to beat them. No matter what anyone say, both Hogan and Kessler have stunk it up when given the opportunity to start.

Now I don't like musical chairs when it comes to QB's. Never have and never will. But I don't think anyone can deny that Hue has tried almost anything to win. You can only play the players on your roster. And when you're not the one drafting or controlling the 53 man roster, your power is limited.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

They spent 2 years on the def addressing it, you are seeing gains in year 2. they will address the offense this offseason, and the next and you will see those gains then. DAY they told us this was going to be a 5 year plan. They have not lied about that. Just some fans have different expectations.

Looking at the defense, I'd say it has been completely rebuilt in the last two years. In fact when was the last time we had the best run defense in the league? Yd/att we rank #1 in the league. And yes, we are technically a shade better than the Broncos.

On the defensive side of the ball, we kept Shelton, Orchard, Kirksey, Meder, and Campbell. Everyone else is was brought in by "Sashi and company."

Think about this. When these guys took over we were one of the worst 3 or 4 run defenses in the league, now we are one the top 3 or 4 in the league!

The guys that are running the show upstairs built this defense. The same guys everyone says don't know what they're doing and that we need to replace them with football guys because we lack so much talent we can't even win a game.

#1 rushing defense in the league yd/att. #1!

It just blows my mind. The only gripe sashi and co deserve is against britt. I do not like the fact he is still here. and reports are he refuses to admit they should not have signed him. other than that, I have no issues with them.
