I agree with that. When the new guys come in, they rarely stick with many of the old guys. I think that is a ego flaw many GM's and coaches have.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

On Thursday night, the Browns were big winners during Round 1 of the 2014 NFL Draft. New GM Ray Farmer bounced all over the board, picking up cornerback Justin Gilbert, an extra 2015 first-round pick and finally quarterback Johnny Manziel.

It probably wasn't a spur of the moment decision because Manziel fell. In fact, it almost definitely wasn't. And if you believe what owner Jimmy Haslam told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio, they made the move because a homeless man told Haslam to "draft Manziel."

This would be the most Browns thing ever, quite frankly.
"Here in Cleveland, every where I go people know me," Paolantonio reported Haslam said. "And I was out to dinner recently and a homeless person was out on the street, looked up at me and said 'Draft Manziel.'"

It's a great nugget and piece of reporting from Sal Pal, even if it's almost unfathomable to think it's actually true. Haslam is a billionaire. He shouldn't be taking advice from homeless dudes, even if it's "just" about football.
No offense to homeless dudes.

It's also possible Haslam's so rich he actually thinks "normal" people are homeless. I tend to think of him as a down-to-earth fella (more so than other billionaires) but maybe not. Maybe it was just someone who looks more homeless than a billionaire.

Must have been the ghost of Johnny's Future...

j/c...I don't think he's a bad owner. I'm sure he doesn't want losing nor is trying to do anything else but get us to be a winning organization again.

Stat wise hey we are losing games...a lot of games.

If he keeps this together without blowing it up just after two seasons...I'll be happy and glad he's our owner.

worse owners? Well if you go far back enough the Steeler's owners were bad.

Look once you start winning all is forgiven.

I'm just glad we don't have Snyder as our owner, IMO he is the worst owner!

I dont get it bro ...

The man goes through FO’s and coaching staffs like toilet paper ...

How is that not a bad owner? ... i seriously don’t understand that ... you’ll need to explain it to me ...

He has a shot to start changing that now ... lets see if he at least gets past phase 1 of CRAPPY OWNER ...

Snyder used to be really bad ... he now stays the hell out of it ...

he changed ... lets hope the thief does ....

He comes from a marketing background. He never had the responsibility of actually building the product himself. Marketing is about quick, quantifiable results. That has shown. New uniforms, the "fan experience" at the stadium. All marketing.

I've said this since he bought the team and got flack on it every time. That doesn't make it any less true. When everyone got so excited when he bought the team I told people to be careful what they wished for. Well they didn't and they got it.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Maybe that rumored meeting with Peyton Manning was about Peyton buying the Browns!!!!!

We can only hope that someone will buy the team from Haslam and save all of us life long fans..fans who hope to see the Browns play and win a Super Bowl before they "die".

Leadership at the top is lacking and there is only one way to correct that problem.

1 playoff appearance, half a dozen seasons at .500 or better, and 14 coaches in their first 38 years for the Rooneys... Jimmy has only been at this for 5 years.. We should be killin' it when I'm in my 80s.
