The next time Sashi is in front of the media he's going to need Farmer's sweat rag.

Leaning on Hue to identify a QB has been an absolute disaster.

Everything has been a disaster.

It's too early to tell with Kizer. They didn't Draft him to be a quick fix. He's been throwing to a not-so-merry band of misfits and other teams' rejects. He wasn't ready and had little support. Continue to get him ready and get him more support. The kids we have need to grow up.

Make no mistake, Hue was not in on Wentz or Watson (at a minimum he was ok passing on Watson; wanted Hooker). That information was used to pass on those QBs.

There's not one person in the organization, FO or coaching staff, that can evaluate QBs.

Silver and Jackson are buds.

Silver is Jackson's media mouth piece.

If this much angst is truly within this organization something will be done.

It’s the bye week, which means it’s the perfect time to cue some controversy for Hue Jackson and the Cleveland Browns over the front office not landing QB Jimmy Garoppolo.

Just before the start of Monday Night Football last night, the NFL world was stunned at the news that the New England Patriots traded their backup quarterback to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a second-round pick. This past offseason, the Browns were strongly linked to Garoppolo, but there were so many stories that New England would not part ways with him, even in exchange of first-round picks. It was a perplexing move on their part, given the fact that Garoppolo is a free agent at the end of the season and wants to go somewhere where he will start.

Many fans instantly took to Twitter to express their dismay, and now we have multiple reports coming in about the Browns’ front office and coaching staff regarding the whole matter. Let’s start with Mike Silver of the NFL Network, who tweeted the following just before midnight:

Then, on Twitter, NFL insider Benjamin Allbright posted a series of tweets that conveyed some internal dismay over the Garoppolo trade. Because it spanned over five tweets, I will transpose it here:


I got several emails last night that the coaching staff for Browns is HIGHLY upset at the front office. Coaches were in the building working, and the front office went home at 5 PM. While coaches continued to work the night before the trade deadline, Sashi Brown was unaware of the Jimmy G trade and was actually informed of it by an irate coaching staff who had lobbied to acquire him, over an hour after it happened.

Coaching staff feels that the front office is undercutting them by not acquiring the talent they need to win, and not putting in matching effort to do so. Like anything, there's three sides to the story (his, hers and the truth) but this was relayed to me last night.

Mike Pettine's daughter was a trailblazer in this regard.

Failing to land JG when Hue wanted him and he was available is cause to be fired. All this dancing around with garbage QBs but they refuse to bring him either of the two QBs he really wanted.

That's not Hue's fault. It's the FO fault.

I think there are plenty of GM's would love to work with Hue. Cincy would take him back as Marvin's heir apparent in a heartbeat.

Was very excited for him to come here! Once we saw this analytics stuff come into play you almost saw Hue's excitement wane. A sad situation.

I’m listening to Bad Company right now, seemed an appropriate choice.

People say he is a good coach. He is proven to be a good position coach and coordinator. As a head coach, 1-23 here. There have been a lot of really good coordinators to become head coaches who flopped.

People if given the chance, reach their level of incompetence.

A lot more head coaches have gone on to be fired rather than become HOF coaches.

It works that way in all levels of business.

Being a excellent supervisor doesn't mean you are going to be a excellent ops manager. Being a excellent ops manager doesn't mean you are going to be a excellent regional manager. Being a excellent regional manager doesn't mean you are going to be a excellent VP of operations.

Neil Caserio as GM and Matt Patricia as head coach. Jimmy then can go to TN and watch the games on TV. Just get out of their way.

It's Jack McDaniels.

That's from Jason La Canfora, however. He's detested the Browns since we erroneously fired his best friend, who is the single greatest team builder to have ever lived: Mike Lombardi.

Since our horrible treatment of the football mastermind that is Mike Lombardi, the greatest football Lombardi ever, Jason has pretty much said anything negative possible and been horrifically off in what he's reporting on the Browns because he only pedals doom, chaos and destruction. To be fair, I'm sure it's not intentional, after all, he's the best friend of Lombardi, who pretty much built the Patriots, so he must have tremendous integrity.



The McDaniels/Caserio rumors seem more stemmed from his love of the Patriots rather than any insight to the mind of Jimmy.
