Can you provide a link for those sources...that is a fact not opinion. Pluto stated LEAGUE SOURCES. As in a fact not The Browns are inept articles that are out there cause it makes an easy write for their by lines with no proof of What actually happened.
Every reporter that has written a story about this has quoted "league sources" in case you missed it. People just pick and choose which reporters sources they choose to believe. Right away its false according to you. Why? Cause the FO actually did their due diligence? It makes sense since we have been inquiring about JG constantly with the Patriots. It's more about him saying that he planned to post this story repeatedly than anything else. Pimping one side of the debate by spamming a story everywhere. You must have missed that too. It makes sense cause it was actually an QB that the FO and Hue and I guess we can add Vers all agree on. It makes sense cause we had no Hoyer who is the best Backup QB around now a days and he should be valued at that position the next 5 years...enough to back Brady and be possibly a Bridge QB as they train their next QB prodigy.
jmho Yet Sashi appears to have decided to botch up the McCarron trade like a high school kid. Actually I don't have a lot of doubt that we were kept out of the JG deal. But people keep acting like that has anything to do with how botched up the McCarron trade was. That won't change. Their excuse is they didn't agree with the McCarron trade so that excuses the inept way it was handled. It doesn't.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Haven't read this thread so hopefully not repeating too much.
I think the mistake that was made is counting on Andrew Berry to be our football guy in the FO. The Colts have done a terrible job finding talent for their roster. They lucked into Luck. Other than that they have been pretty horrendous. Then didn't we double down and hire Grigson?
We need to hire a quality football talent evaluator. Fix the Qb position. Mend the fences between the current FO and Hue.
We are set up quite nicely in this upcoming draft. We can't screw it up. Interesting take...one could say we "triple-downed" by picking up a Colt OL castoff (that Colt OL is not good).

Mess? What mess?
I stay the course. I can't agree to a 5 year plan and blow it up, can I? The people I instilled my plan with is Sashi. I thought Hue was a can't miss HC, but maybe I was wrong. I would prefer to stay the course and retain everybody. If we go 0-16, I'll revisit my thoughts.
I like the talent the FO has acquired. I think Hue has made some suspect decisions on the field, but I don't think that's a reason to fire him, yet. I would like to see this thing thru and try out this whole stability thing everyone keeps talking about.
If I have to make a move and we do go 0-16 or 1-15 and it seems as though Hue can't do the job, I may see about finding someone who would retain a lot of the coaches but would be a better fit as HC for this team. Maybe look at someone like Scott Linehan, Russ Grimm, Todd Haley, or possibly even elevate my DC as HC. That would promote stabililty, no?
I think my #1 concern as owner would be we need to find a QB. We've entrusted that to Hue and we really haven't gotten anywhere. I've heard reports of players wanting to stay in school and not play for us. Do we look at the FA market? I suspect there will be some decent ones... Cousins, Brees, the minnesota trio are all FA, no? I would imagine someone like Glennon could be available as well... so what do we do there?
I think we are close if I can just hold out another year of misery, 2018 will begin the turnaround and positive results.

At 0-16 if we luck into one next year you can call it improving.
With the number of picks this year we're nearly as young in 18 as we were in 17. If anything the D is much better and steals us a game or two.
