LSU beats Auburn
Cal crushes Washington State
Syracuse beats Clemson
TTUN squeaks by Indiana
UM squeaks past Georgia Tech
WVU handles Texas Tech

It's finally getting into the real meat of the college season.

Oh yeah, the Buckeyes are cruising right along...

and add a Washington loss to Arizona State

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

I wouldn't have thought it possible that Penn State would ever again vie for a national championship after the Sandusky sex abuse scandal.

Wasn't the school crippled with sanctions?

Not to mention the school's reputation. I mean the whole school, not just the football program.

The scandal - Jerry Sandusky's crimes - only came out in November 2011. Only 6 years ago.

I guess it's a testament of the type of people who live in Pennsylvania. Especially Western Pennsylvania.

Very devoted to their state, school and football.

Big game next week.

Okay this may be a stretch but... Certainly Haslem is learning by now to not sign anyone to anything longer than you can keep a laundry ticket.

We got a hell of a running back ... Josh Adams ...

He should be in the heiswman convo now ... he may be the leader if he hasn’t sat 9 quarter this year in 7 games ... most of that is cause we’ve been so far ahead ...

He’s a junior ... hope he don’t leave ,..

Boy, does PSU look good. Their offense is balanced and dynamic. Their DL is better than advertised too IMO.

A couple of thoughts...

--Every year we hear how great USC is going to be and every year they suck.

--Penn State is playing great football. Glad they trashed TUN, but I'm very concerned about next week's showdown in the Shoe.

USC got trashed... Don't know if Norte dame is that good or USC is that bad.... Norte dame has a rough road but if they win out they will easily make it into the playoff...

PSU looked very good as well... Again not sure if they really are that good or if UM isn't... Probably a bit of both.... OSU has their work cut out for them... PSU has a clear path to the playoff if they win out...

And man... I know it was Tenn but Bama just looks unstoppable...

ND will shoot up the rankings IMO .. and will beat NCST next week which will push them up more. They are the real deal, with their lone loss to Georgia in a close game.

I hope your right ... were way better than i thought ... our D is legite ... thought they’d stink ... appearantly Van Gorders schemes were just to complicated (DC last few years) ...

Were gonna lose a game or two cause of our QB ... hes way more innacurate than Kizer was ... i thought Kizer would be in a QB battle if he came back and may not win it ... HELL NO ... Wimbush is very innacurate .... if Kizer had stayed we’d more than likely be undeafeted ...

I’m REALLY PEED AT Kizer for leaving ... but then again ... i see no one touching Bama ....

Our OL is one of the best in college football .. not sure how anyone’s could be better but u never know ...

And we’ve got one hell of a RB ... Josh Adams ... remember his name ...

This teams a lot better than i thought it’d be .. but the QB play will keep us from being in the playoffs ... if we win out we’d have to be in with our schedule and our only loss being to Georgia ... but i don’t see us doing that with our QB ...

Hey the Rockets are tearing-up the Mid-American.

They’re average over 40 points a game.

They demolished Ball St. last night 58-17.

And they are ranked 32nd in the AP. (they actually appear in “Others receiving votes” (Toledo got a vote))

Look out Poinsettia Bowl.

(OK so now it’s the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.)

Too early?

You bet they will.

The Fightin' Sioux are currently undefeated in Big Sky conference play at 8-0.

Toledo has a big game up next. NIU has been a thorn in their sides for a few years (though we did beat them last year).

Personally I think this is an interesting question:

I was looking at the CBSsports recap of the Washington st/Arizona game.

Hilinski replaced Luke Falk late in the first half and ignited what had been a sputtering offense.
Leach said he initially pulled Falk out of the game to allow the quarterback ''to see the field because we weren't pushing the ball down the field. Then Hilinski was hot, so we stayed with Hilinski.''

So looking at Hilinski's stats he was:

45 of 61 for 509 yards and 2 TD passes
He also had 5 carries for 7 yards with 2 TD
However, he also threw 4 interceptions.

My question is, Did Hilinski have a good game?

IMO ... hell no ...

I’d say he did enough to win as opposed to having a good game ... but thats just me ...

When the hell did he get in ... based off 61 passes it sounds like he had to come in after the first snap .. *L* ..

How many total passes they throw in that game ...

Depends on how many of those INTs bounced off his receivers' hands.

On a less Browns-inspired level, it's really hard to tell from the box score.

Good point Grimm

I just saw some highlights from that game. They showed 2 of the interceptions. One was from around the 10 yard line. He sprinted out to the right then threw across his body and floated one over the middle that went right into the hands of the defender. The 2nd was an out that he threw directly to the defender who returned it for a pick-6.

I kind of want to see more of Wake Forest's QB. He had that offense humming against Louisville. Unfortunately, his top playmaker went down for the season with an abdominal injury. I think I'll still try to keep an eye on him, though. Wolford lacks prototypical size, but struck me as worth digging into.

That Oklahoma -Oklahoma State game was a travesty to real football. 5 hours of up and down the field. Enjoyed the Michigan State - Penn State game much better.
