Do you remember when we first started talking on the official board, bonefish? It was about Luck and how high both of us were on him when he was a pup at Stanford. That's when I kinda knew you knew your stuff about QBs.

Sad to see him with the Colts. They've never protected him, ever... Irsay is buffoon.

Sure I remember.
Luck did everything right. His form was perfect. He is the model of doing things the right way.
There are many ways to throw and as long as the results are there not everyone is going to have perfect form.
But Luck played like the way you would teach someone to play.
I highly doubt that he is going anywhere but I would love to see him in a Browns uniform.

Just to be clear, I remember you and I talking about him when he was a redshirt freshman in 2009 and even people in the media weren't talking about him.
I kinda stumbled upon him because Harbaugh made a comment about him in the media that blew me away. I can't remember it exactly, but it had to do w/how great he thought Luck's potential was. I started watching the dude and was blown away.
I was pretty amazed when you were pimping him when he was a freshman, too.

You two are so cute, remembering the good old days and spotting Andrew when he was young and didn't have an upper body injury.

It was easy to see Luck was the gold plated edition.
Goes to show that as great of a quarterback Luck is you have to have a team around you.
He has been ruined with the Colts.

and yet, so many people doubt and dismiss our FO's current plan of build a sustainable roster first and then plug in the QB. Indy will probably destroy Luck before he ever even gets a chance to get out of there, or get a decent roster around him.

this thread got me thinking a lil bit.
IF Brissett continues to play well and learn his new system like he is.
He is playing well after learning the patriots way, and playbook, and play style...too many "and"s I know.
And is still playing well. He might just push Luck out of Indy.
It might just happen. wouldn't be the first time it did.

The Cleveland Browns are still searching for that franchise quarterback, and Andrew Luck’s name is one that comes up as a potential fit. I’ll confess — I have a man-crush on Andrew Luck. Not just because when healthy, he’s the poster child for everything you’d want in an NFL quarterback: smart, strong, fearless, a great leader, terrific field sense, accurate passer. He’s also a three-time Pro Bowler who has led a weak Colts squad to three playoff appearances (2012-2014) and a 43-27 regular season record over five seasons. Over that same period, an even dozen – -count ’em 12 — different Cleveland Browns starting quarterbacks have (somehow) won 20 games, lost 60, registering zero playoff appearances and zero meaningful games into November. But that’s not why I love Andrew Luck. It’s because down deep the Stanford educated, Houston-bred and London-born Luck has Cleveland DNA. His accomplished father, Oliver, was not only a former Browns front office exec, he was a high school standout at St. Ignatius — and except maybe for Glenville High, it doesn’t get more Believeland than that. Ever since the Browns just missed out on the chance to draft Andrew in 2012, (picking Trent Richardson at No. 3 after Luck and RG III went one-two) I’ve fantasized about the kind of harmonic convergence of factors that might bring Luck back to his paternal hometown. The Washington Post predicts those factors might have converged: Luck’s injury history and this season’s IR shutdown, his $140 million price tag, front office and coaching turnover in Indy, and a treasure trove of available Browns draft choices, including two first rounders and three seconds. If the Browns reportedly offered a second and a third for Bengals’ backup AJ McCarron (three career starts, one win), what would you offer for a 28-year-old proven franchise QB? Even one with a bum shoulder? Let the dreaming — and bidding begin. I’d ante up the Browns’ likely top overall pick, two of the seconds and as a sweetener, DeShone Kizer, returning the former Golden Domer back to the Hoosier State. NEXT: Thumbs up, thumbs down at 0-8 As for Luck’s big price tag, it sure beats paying Brock Osweiler close to a million bucks each week to play for the Broncos. Or bye-week watching ex-Browns Barkevious Mingo AND Jabaal Sheard combining to make the game-saving sack for the Colts on Sunday – -making the Browns’ Houston picks even more valuable. https://dawgpounddaily.com/2017/11/06/cleveland-browns-andrew-luck-future-plans/dont know if this was thrown up yet or not. (didn't scroll up much) but for giggles here we go.

it's a SMALL possibility, but doubtful obviously ... but adding Kizer to any trade only detracts the value haha
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Report: Andrew Luck in Europe for treatment on injured shoulderMichael David Smith ProFootballTalk.com November 11, 2017 Colts quarterback Andrew Luck will miss the entire 2017 season, and he’ll try anything to get back on the field in 2018. What he’s trying now is treatment in Europe, according to ESPN. There’s no word on the nature of the treatment Luck is receiving, but many American pro athletes have traveled to Europe for treatments that aren’t available in the United States. Luck’s predecessor as the Colts’ quarterback, Peyton Manning, reportedly traveled to Europe in 2011 to get stem-cell treatment on his injured neck. Luck had surgery on his shoulder that the Colts initially indicated was relatively minor, with Colts owner Jim Irsay saying Luck would be ready for the start of the season. That timeline changed repeatedly, until the Colts finally announced that Luck wouldn’t play at all this year. Now Luck has apparently decided that the treatment he’s receiving in America isn’t good enough, and he’s hoping to find something better overseas. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...jured-shoulder/

Bengals’ backup AJ McCarron (three career starts, one win), what would you offer for a 28-year-old proven franchise QB? Even one with a bum shoulder? That's the million dollar question. If the Colts are willing to part with them, especially if Luck is ready to part with the Colts, what would the price tag be? Honestly, I think they'd want at least our two first round picks - both, realistically, could be top 10 selections. I'm not saying Luck isn't worth it, but he won't come cheap.

Just as a starter in negotiations my guess is the Colts would ask for 2 number ones and two second rounders.
From there it would all depend on who else would be willing to make a trade to get Luck.
The market will be set by those willing to step up to the table.

Bone that may be all right for a healthy Luck but not one with all these injuries. When healthy he may be a franchise QB but with his injury history no way. I may be willing to give up 2 2nd rounders and a 3 but that's it. If my fellow posters don't agree that's fine I respect their opinions but that's all I'd give. With our luck, no pun intended, he would never stay healthy for us. JMO

In the history of football there have been many that have similar fates.
Archie Manning Dan Pastorini I'm sure many more!

What I stated is what I believe that The Colts would start negotiations at.
Where it ends up or what I would be willing to give up is is not a part of this discussion.
There is no doubt that first Luck will have to pass a physical.
