The win last night was only good if it used as blueprint and fuel moving forward. Needing a herculean effort against the Knicks for a championship aspiring team shouldn't be needed. Coming from 23 down, it hadn't been done in 11 years, so its funny to these posters that act like oh yeah, cavs had it all along, and ignore the first 3 quarters where they played like poo and were getting embarrased. Korver pretty much saved them, lebron chokes at the line again, 4 straight misses. Luckily Korver hit his, needed every single point Kyle had last night.
I still have issues with effort and defense. But if they can play like the 4th most of the game then they will be in good shape, I think Lue found a rotation that might work more. We saw exactly why Love can't exist on this team as the #2 option. 27 points saturday and 6 last night. He's consistently inconsistent. I do however think waiting IT to come back is prudent before judging right now.. Assuming healthy, he will be that legit #2 option and Love can go back to what he normally does. I do have concerns about our ability to defend the post, NYK had more than half their points there at one point. Love was just getting abused by Enes Freaking Kanter. Have a string of winnable games coming up, it would be nice to go on a little roll here and calm everything down. Really want to win the Brooklyn game, I think LAC and Det will be tough games.

Kanter is a good scorer though. and Love struggles defending anybody.

I hate the way Love defends the pick and roll. To me it is the number 1 reason for the record followed by not defending the 3 pt line.
Just wondering when that will get addressed. He does the same thing every game. Flash hard on the ball handler. Literally do nothing to disrupt the ball handler, it's like he's not even there. Leave the roller wide open. Provide a huge passing lane for the ball handler. Ball handler hits roller for easy pass and score in the lane.
When is this going to stop?

probably never. let's be real.
his defense does step up *a bit* in the playoffs, so there's that i guess....
but he isn't a two way player. he wasn't a two way player ever in his career. IT can't play any defense either, but thats ok because as Lead said, IT can score, Love can go back to being more effective at the 3, and hopefully the scoring will finally counter the lack of defense like we already seen the first 3 years.
