I figured there would be a lot of excuses on this thread, but the intent was to track drops.

We have had various reports on the amount of drops that our guys have, so Diam came up w/the idea to chart them.

Do any of you want to talk about how many drops we had? If not, post the BS on another thread.

versatile, I had four drops. One each by Coleman, Louis, duke and Higgins. I had a couple of question marks by Higgins name, pass was not great. I had a note by Coleman that pass was behind him.
I wonder what league average is??

Ya ... finished up ... i was afraid to post cause u scolded me about going off topic and going in depth ... *LOL* ...

I left off at Dukes 2nd drop/mis-communication ...

Only 1 more drop ... 4th Q at the 1:48 mark ... Coleman drop ... ball was slightly behind him but he has to make that catch ... wouldn’t ding DK for it but it took away any shot at YAC if he did catch it ...

So i had 5 total drops ...

1 of them was 100% on the reciever as it hit him right in his hands ...
1 was a drop of a very catchable ball but it was slightly behind Coleman ...
2 were catches made way more difficult do to [censored] poor ball placement ..
1 was the drop by duke that should have been caught .. the mis-communication one ...

He only had 3 uncatchable balls IMO ...

Q3 .. 11:45 ... 10 yard out to coleman ... way over his head ..

Q4 .. 8:25 ... 2nd pick ... sailed way over our receivers head and into the arms of a DB covering someone else ...

Q4 .. :16 ... 20 yards down middle .. passwas behind Louis ....

He had 3 plus throws IMO ..

Q2 .. 14:01 ... 20 yard pass to CC over middle ... he threw it low witch was the proper place to put that one .. if he did it on purpose .. *L*

Td pass to Duke .... 25 yards down middle .. it looked like a Gregg Williams defense with coverage way the hell off ...

Q3 .. 12:07 .... sideline throw to Njoku about 15 yards downfield ...

Thats it .... thats what i got ...

I’m gonna do it again this week ... hopefully u and the others will join in again ...

will add in a few of the other young guys games ... i record them all and watch them ...

I'll add a note that the wind was fierce and cold. Kizer is young and Coleman had to be rusty. It's supposed to be nice in Cincy this weekend so hopefully we see a bunch more + throws.

Thanks.

I haven't watched, but whenever people say "he has to make that catch" it makes it sound like a 50/50 deal.

I don't count those as drops if extra effort is involved.

I don't hold better receivers to a higher standard than I do average receivers. Ok....I do, but not when it comes to being called a drop.

I had four today, but none worse than Coleman dropping a sure-fire touchdown that was, in my opinion, an elite throw. Beautifully accurate pass that had everything - touch, anticipation, throwing the receiver open and pinpoint accuracy.

What is it with the Browns and chest catching lately? That's not coaches. Al Saunders will be fuming every time it happens. He doesn't coach his receivers that way, yet these guys keep doing it in games.

Help us, Flash, you're our only hope.

Let me guess: Coleman dropping a perfect pass for a TD was because kizer isn’t throwing a catchable ball, or whatever nonsense excuse people are trying to give these WRs.

He makes plays that give us drop amnesia, though. That's the killer on our current receivers. They drop a lot of passes, but they're not making any plays to make us forget it.

coleman's drop was an atrocity

If I were Hue I'd have our WR's catching passes from the jugg's machine from dawn till dusk and I'd keep doing it until the drops stopped. Hold them accountable.

Personally I'd put the WRs in front of the jugs machine with their hands tied behind their back. See how many shots to the face it takes before they recognize the necessity of catching the ball.

We MUST get rid of Louis, Higgins, Treggs, Williams, etc ... they are not NFL players.

Hope Gordon can make a comeback, keep Coleman, and draft playmakers

Agreed. They are not NFL players and we will get rid of them this coming offseason.

Am I missing something? Who's excusing the WRs?

Just a PSA, I guess, given thread focus.

The passes caught by Britt today could not be helped. They were broken plays and just happened today.

Sorry for whatever problems this caused in your fantasy leagues.

sure sure you're lurking correctly?

people have made every excuse since week 1 about how Kizer apparently doesn't throw a catchable ball.

I don’t know who would take that attitude, the other teams seem to catch him just fine.

But I dont see anyone excusing the WRs either.

except he does.

i didn't want kizer in the first place and i hope to god we draft lamar jackson, but we have some absolute bums playing at the WR position right now.

Louis, Higgins, and Britt can go. i wonder what louis's catch/drop ratio is.

we've had a few posters claim throughout the years that WRs aren't that important.

my mind is still blow as to how people can come to that conclusion.

Our WRs are the biggest collection of trash I've ever seen.

Kizer frequently does not throw a catchable ball.

Both can be true.

Both are true.

You don't have to over think it.

i'm not overthinking it at all.

Kizer has gotten better the last few games while the argument can be made our WRs have got worse.

That's a different discussion.

I agree he has improved.

Should we pretend the previous games and throws don't exist? We certainly aren't excusing the WR drops in the previous games.

LOL......did someone say that people haven't been defending our receivers?

Anyways......I counted two drops today. Coleman and Louis. I trust Diam and he said there was another one. I may have missed it somehow. I saw Coleman drop another, but it was contested. I would not call that a drop.

However, I don't see how anyone can excuses the drop by Coleman in the end zone and the Louis drop. Louis needs to go. He stinks.

Who's been defending the receivers?

Maybe I missed it.

But I thought it was a nearly universal thought that they are garbage.

nobody is pretending to begin with, so i dunno why you felt the need to say that, but whatever.

i think the discussion is relatable and not different. Kizer is improving in his reads, yet our WR are not improving in the most important thing they're suppose to do: catch the damn ball.

Kizer has a ton of flaws, and i can not stress enough how much i didnt want him. however, how many less picks would he have if passes didn't bounce off WR's hands?

or run the correct route?

or amongst it all? CATCH!

how much better would Kizer look if he actually had talent to work with on the outside?

i want us to draft a QB, but i, as well as a bunch of other people around here, need to be real with themselves and admit that this year is really hard to gage whether Kizer can be the guy or not. He is working with bums to throw to minus coleman, a trash RT and a trash LT.

i mean Njoku has 7, count them 7 offensive PI's this year. Coleman himself has 10-11 holding calls and false starts.

I wish we could see the numbers from different websites, because i could've sworn that counting today, the last 3 games, Louis has more drops than catches.

and that's absolutely pathetic.

Carr was taken in the 2nd round, and they made sure to draft him a beast of a WR in Amari Cooper. they have Crabtree.

Kizer's only reliable target is Coleman. and he missed a ton of games already this year. So Kizer has been handicapped damn near the entire season because our WR's simply can not make a play.

just based on our WR core alone, don't be surprised if the FO rolls with Kizer next year with the thinking that the talent around him failed and stunted(right word?) his growth.

If the FO possesses the #1 pick and rolls with Kizer next year, they should burn Berea to the ground.

This thread is about "dropped passes," rather than you agenda. Please post your agenda somewhere else and stick to dropped passes.

How many dropped passes did you see today, Rish? What about last week?

why?

there's a good chance that we somehow end up winning 1-3 games just with the return of Gordon. he's THAT good, even with him missing all these games. defense HAVE to account for him. then Coleman goes from having to the be the #1 to the #2, which means he isn't being checked by the best corner anymore.

Britt goes from being the #2 to #3, Treggs can possibly be in the slot.

that gives better matchups for Njoku and Devalve.

(in theory of course)

so if Kizer all of a sudden starts looking good, and we have the #1, then the FO and Hue have a legitimate reason to either trade back into the 5-10 range, or draft some nasty weapon with our pick and the houston pick.

The only games we have a shot at are Chicago and GB.

And those won't be easy because those teams are dying for wins and will believe they will finally get one against the Browns. Look for Trubisky to have a career day and give Chicago a lot of false hope.

I don't know. If we aren't drafting #1 overall and Rosen is gone, then I can see rolling with Kizer next year.

I guess I'm just not seeing us not drafting #1 overall.
