Wouldn't that mean Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and many others are also stiff? He's a pocket passer, that's not a bad thing.

No problem. I just had a problem with making a pocket passer a bad thing. I am sure some will try to turn Jackson's running ability into a negative and it will also be dumb.

Brady isn't super stiff, manning isn't either. then you got the new guys like Carr, Stafford, etc, who are pocket passers but are more mobile.

that's fine. But Rosen doesn't seem to have that movement needed to escape the rush, and if he's having a hard time with that in college, it's gonna be ugly in the nfl.

His offensive line is terrible. He can't help that.

Lamar is a way better athlete than Dak.

I agree. If your offensive line allows immediate pressure it doesn't matter how good of an athlete you are, you are going to get hit.

Lamar Jackson's athleticism is a huge positive, but it doesn't mean he is immune to crappy players around him.

however, he can make up for a lot of deficiencies. While i wouldn't say that the backup LT in Houston is as bad as the backups in Dallas, Watson made that OL better than what it was since his starting LT was holding out.

Agreed. Like I said, I think all three guys are pretty good options, I just like Rosen most of all.

A lot of this will depend on what happens with the front office and coaches in the off-season.

Lamar has more the better YPA, the better pass TD to INT ratio, less interceptions overall, and the better QB rating.

and i didn't even mention his running ability. And lamar plays against better talent.

Peak Lamar Jackson is better than peak Josh Rosen. Lamar Jackson's floor is much, much lower though.

I'd bet my house Rosen is a better pro than Lamar Jackson. That's how clear cut the decision should be.

Some guys are better at surviving the immediate pressure. Eli Manning is a good example of this. Rosen isn't that kind of guy though. When he gets beat up, he misses time. Doesn't seem very good at protecting himself.

Lamar Jackson is better at absorbing and deflecting impacts. Rosen seems to take the full impact seemingly every time.

Most ACL tears happen with no contact. RG3, Watson, and Bridgewater, off the top of my head.

The injury really has more to do with the forces generated within the leg than an exterior force. People who have overtrained their quadriceps in relation to the glutes and hamstrings are much more likely to get an ACL tear. When I see Lamar Jackson, he looks like an ACL tear waiting to happen. Even though that doesn't discourage me from drafting him.

I think Rosen is clearly the best qb coming out and I don't think it's close.

Not a big fan of Jackson. Not sure I'd draft him to build my franchise around.

And ironically, Rosen is probably far closer to Manziel than Mayfield.

Knock on Rosen is he's immature and needs to grow up. I've read this a few times. He's not as dedicated as Mayfield, and sometimes feels like he doesn't need to listen coaches because he "already knows." He's put a hot tub in his dorm room and has worn political paraphernalia invoking controversy. Even when asked about being Johnny, Rosen made an eerily similar comment about not changing who he is for anyone. He is said to be a "mess off the field." Rosen doesn't come without red flags.

This sounds eerily similar to Jay Cutler.

How is that worse than a guy who has been arrested for public intoxication? A guy who tried to run from the cops? A guy who grabs his crotch during games while taunting opponents? A guy who opponents don't even want to shake his hand because he is such a punk? A guy who talks smack constantly? A guy who tries to plant flags in an opponent's turf? A guy who mouths FU during games? A guy who got his captain's position taken from him? A guy who was benched for his behavior?

True. There are some really annoying posts out there that are not even close to factual, such as comparing Rosen to Cutler, Lenient, and Glennon and another saying that Rosen is more like Manziel than Mayfield is. Both claims are preposterous.

However, my reply to ed was simply informational. The QB threads are in the Tailgate forum. I wasn't getting on him.

The most preposterous claim here is that Mayfield is the next Johnny Manziel. Calling Mayfield the next Manziel because of one event is foolish. It's kinda like saying Corey Coleman is the next Kenny Britt because of one dropped pass. C'mon people!
