Doesn't look like Darnolds arm is better to me. Both are good. Both can make every throw. Darnold can do more on the run and puts a little extra sauce on it when he needs to. Last year's Rose Bowl against Penn State was ridiculous..

Ask 5: Who's better NFL prospect, Sam Darnold or Josh Rosen? Print By Daniel Jeremiah NFL Media analyst Published: Nov. 15, 2017 at 11:41 a.m. Updated: Nov. 16, 2017 at 06:01 p.m. 0 Likes | 0 Comments Read Discuss One of the best rivalries in college football will be renewed on Saturday when the UCLA Bruins make the trip across town to take on the USC Trojans. This game will feature arguably the top 2 quarterback prospects in the country. This season has produced some ups and downs for Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen, but they are both still highly regarded in NFL circles. I reached out to five NFL executives to see which of the two passers they believe will be the better pro player. Here are their answers. Executive 1: Sam Darnold "Both are talented passers and both are tough. Rosen is tougher than he is given credit for. Sam just has a little more savvy and feel for the position to me. (Darnold has) more ability to make a crazy, improbable kind of play than Josh, while still being a highly skilled passer. (I) like both of them, but I'd take Sam if in position to choose one." Executive 2: Darnold "Darnold. He's stronger, he's a better athlete, better mobility and he's a better playmaker with his arm and legs. He has more 'it' factor." Executive 3: Darnold "I'll take Darnold. Rosen's likely a better natural talent, but Sam just has that 'it' factor that can be so hard to find and quantify." Executive 4: Darnold "I love Darnold. He's got poise, toughness and grit. When it's time to step up and make things happen, he gets it done. The kid's a winner, too. That matters." Executive 5: Darnold "They are both going to be good. Rosen is more polished and a finished product now, but I'm a Darnold guy. He (has) 'it'." Summary: It's a sweep. Darnold received all 5 votes. Conclusion: It's rare to get a unanimous result with these weekly Ask 5 questions. However, all five of these executives prefer Darnold over Rosen at the moment. I thought it was interesting that three of the executives mentioned the "it" factor. I hear that a lot when discussing Darnold and I agree with their assessment of him. He has a special quality that's hard to define. He's clutch and thrives in chaotic moments. I think Rosen is a more refined passer, but Darnold would get my vote right now. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000...p;sf172193082=1

If we plan on drafting Rosen, I tell Jordan Lasley we are drafting him if he comes out. Also drafting the C #52.

Rosen looked good to me .. their OL wasn't very good.
I like both tho to be honest

Rosen's offensive line is stinky. He constantly has rushers in his face. If he had an average supporting cast he'd be the slam dunk #1 pick. well he should fit right in with the Browns then

and BTW, loving these QB discussions
right now, assuming everyone comes out , and assuming we are taking a QB , my order is 1. Rosen 2. Darnold and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down at 3. Mayfield- kid scares me

I only watched the last half of the 3rd quarter and most of the 4th quarter - apparently I missed the Rosen looking good part of the game. Admittedly, his OL was terrible, but when he had time the throws were off. The one thing I noticed right away is that he holds the ball too low, slowing his release.
Darnold wasn't impressive either, though I noticed how quick his release is.

Trade up from second pick and take darnold and Rosen 1 and 2. Sounds crazy but man we need to get the qb thing solved

Saint..............of all the qbs in the draft, I think Rosen is the most day one ready of all of them. He is the one guy I don't think has to sit. He plays in a pro-style offense. He makes reads. He goes through progressions.
I'm not saying everyone should love him, but he is the easiest of all the top qbs to evaluate and the most pro-ready.
IMO

Rosen looks like the more complete, steady player... Darnold looks like he might have a slightly higher ceiling but also is a bigger bust risk... all depends on how that "it" thing Darnold allegedly has works out. We've been burned with that once or twice.

While I like Derwin, this team needs an overhaul on offense. If there is a player of similar value to Derwin available who plays offense then we need to take the offensive player. If Derwin is clearly the highest rated player than of course you take him. By the end of free agency and the draft I want the Browns to: 1, Address the Qb position. Either a top level FA, or a midlevel free agent and a top draft pick, or a top draft pick and a 3rd or 4th round guy. 2, Fix the RB position. Crowell cannot be our primary runner. I doubt we can get Barkley if we use the top pick on aQb. The guy I am starting to really like is Kerryon Johnson from Auburn. I think he is a junior. But I don't see how he doesn't come out after this season. 3, Fix the Wr position. We need at least 2 Wr's. I want one solid veteran along with a rookie taken with one of the 5 picks we have in the top 2 rounds. I would not be opposed to taking 2 Wr's with those 5 picks. Nor would I be opposed to taking another Wr in the mid rounds. 4, Find our LT of the future. I haven't been able to watch a game since JT went down. Is Drango still the starting LT? How is he playing? Can he be the LT of the future or do we need to make a high investment? I'm thinking Mitch Hyatt Clemson in round 2. Caveat, if there is a great defensive player that happens to fall you don't pass on him just because of position. Our defense is far from set. We need a true FS, and another Qb. Other positions can be upgraded too. But let's face it. Our defense as is, is the defense of an 8-8 team. It is the offense's suckitude that prevents us from winning games.

Isn't James more a SS than FS? I like him but we really need a quality FS. I think there are quite a few good RBs coming out in the draft this year and think we could get a pretty good one early 2nd round. I really like Johnson from Auburn, too. Has a little Leveon Bell in him.

Our QB's make them look a lot worse than they are. Getting a QB in here that doesn't hold the ball for days and can actually anticipate a throw will make them look so good we'd probably have three or four of them in the Pro Bowl. Add a beast RB and one or two WR's with good hands that run crisp routes and this offense goes off on the NFL.

I don’t know much about derwin. FSU safety and great athlete. I hear great things about him but don’t know much personally. I only mentioned his name because it was in the post i was referencing/quoting.

If I were casting a QB for a movie, I'd pick Rosen. Unfortunately, looking the part doesn't make a successful QB. I'm not sold on his leadership and work ethic. He definitely oozes natural talent, but I'm not convinced he'll ever make the most of it. My impression could be wrong, but it's the one I've got. Based off things like his "football and school don't go together" quote ( Link ) It just kind of comes off as he's not completely willing to focus on what it takes to be the best. He'll do what he "has to," but I'm not sure he is fully committed. I sort of took it as he wants things to just be handed to him. Maybe not so much "handed to him" as he'll do what he's told and put in effort that way, but not take advantage of/go looking for every opportunity to get better. QB is the most demanding position in sports and I'm not sure he has the "manic obsession" that is almost required to perform at the highest level.

1, Address the Qb position. Either a top level FA, Who would that FA be? Here are the ones I could find that will be FA after this season.. 1. Kirk Cousins - Maybe 2. Drew Brees - Not leaving (would retire first) 3. Sam Bradford - Maybe 4. Teddy Bridgewater - Not leaving So the choice, since Jimmy G is gone, if you are looking for a starter is between Cousins and Bradford... While both would be an improvement (if Bradford could stay on the field), I'd take my chances in the draft. *edited because I forgot Carr had already re-signed.

I would consider cousins and brees to be top free agent qb’s. Hhe ithers are middle of the road guys. Not sure who else is out there. I might consider alex Smith as highend if he were released.

The whipping winds inside CBS would probably cause Bradford to slip a disk and miss a season, so it really comes down to only Cousins as an option, and I am absolutely NOT enamored with that idea.
That makes him the top QB on the market so we would have to pay through the nose to get him. On top of that, he really is just a Kenny Britt at QB so far. Average-at-best all career long to suddenly having a "breakout" season in a contract year (that coincides with getting weapons back).... sound familiar? Sounds like a cautionary tale to me.

I liked what I saw out of Rosen as well this weekend past. I don't know if he outstayed USC, but he certainly brought one and a half tons of game. I like Rosen so far.

Rosen is the reverse Matt Leinart. Leinart looked good because he had a perfect environment around him, Rosen has none of that.

Vers, This is an important article regarding Rosen. It is why the interview and character research is so important. http://draftanalyst.com/tuesday-draft-notes-110You remember what kind of talent Jeff George was. I like Rosen on film. But I would want to know more before I would draft him. It is all about due diligence and verification on who he is.

Thanks bonefish. I read that article and I agree that we would have to do an extensive study on him. It's important.
It's early, but it seems like there are some questions about Rosen's personality. I don't think he has done anything too crazy. Maybe cfrs could give us more background info?
And I don't think that Rosen has done nearly anything like Baker Mayfield has done over and over. Btw-----I would encourage people to view the video of Mayfield trying to run from police. I think we should sign that one cop as an edge rusher. LOL

Trouble does not seem to be the issue.
As far as I know there has been no reports of any "trouble" type problems.
It all centers around his personality. Nothing about work ethic or effort.
Basically it sounds like he is full of himself. A sense of entitlement. Reports about players respect him as a player but dislike the person. That he doesn't get along with coaches etc.
When these type of reports get around it is hard to verify. Everything is second hand.
It is the type of thing that has to be sorted out by the teams that have interest.
