Terrible! Injured running the football, of course. Hope he has a full recovery. I feel terrible for Philly fans as well - it looked like this could be the year. Next man up - Nick Foles. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/21739...iss-rest-seasonPhiladelphia Eagles star quarterback Carson Wentz has a torn ACL in his left knee and will miss the rest of the regular season and the postseason, coach Doug Pederson confirmed Monday.
Wentz suffered the injury in Sunday's victory over the Los Angeles Rams and underwent an MRI on Monday morning.
Pederson also confirmed that Nick Foles, who replaced Wentz on Sunday, will be the first-place Eagles' starting quarterback.
Wentz came up limping after absorbing multiple hits on a touchdown run that was negated by a holding penalty in the third quarter. He stayed in the game for the remainder of the drive, which he capped with a fourth-down touchdown pass to Alshon Jeffery that gave the Eagles the lead.
The Eagles (11-2), who clinched the NFC East title with Sunday's victory in Los Angeles, have overcome several key injuries and now have to move forward without their most indispensable player.
Nine-time Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters, return specialist/running back Darren Sproles, star linebacker Jordan Hicks and special-teams captain Chris Maragos already went down for the season.
Pederson noted his team's resiliency this season and stressed that the Eagles fans should not "lose faith." He also said that the Eagles signed Foles this past offseason "for situations like this."
"If there's ever an opportunity for me to rally the troops as the football coach, now might be the time," Pederson said. "You can't lose faith. This has been a resilient football team all season long."
Foles helped the Eagles rally from a fourth-quarter deficit Sunday, but Philadelphia will be hard-pressed to win the first Super Bowl in franchise history without Wentz, who has passed for 3,296 yards and leads the NFL with 33 touchdown passes despite being in just his second year in the league.
Wentz's injury had a major impact Monday in Las Vegas, as the Westgate SuperBook lengthened the Eagles' odds to win the Super Bowl from 6-1 to 12-1.
Wentz, 24, threw four touchdowns passes Sunday, passing Sonny Jurgensen for the most touchdowns in a single season in franchise history, a record that had stood since 1961.
Second-year pro Nate Sudfeld is Philadelphia's No. 3 quarterback. Pederson said he hasn't spoken to personnel boss Howie Roseman about adding a third quarterback yet.
ESPN's Tim McManus and David Purdum and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Feel bad for him. BUT we sure dodged a bullet there... Seriously though, with 3 games left to play he set a team season high TD pass record that stood since 1961, think about that.

I watched the game last night. It's too bad for the kid. Foles isn't a horrible though, so they still have a chance.

Very crappy news. They were on a roll and then some. Kizer AND Watson. The ones that got away both done early. Lucky for them it's just ruined seasons and not ruined careers.

The good news might be that as far as ACL injuries go, this might be minimal because he was able to walk on it. Hopefully it was a slight tear and will heal quickly. It didn't look nasty.
Exciting football will be back in Cleveland this fall!

sorry to hear this ... he'll bounce back strong IMO
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

We have their 2nd round pick don't we??? Things are just coming up Roses for us now...
And before anyone goes banana's, I'm kidding. Loved the kid he was putting on a superstar show.
I thought Rams had a better play book and offensive look Goff was very Serviceable.
Eagle with Wentz...kid was a superstar making things happen.
Shame he will end his season like this and possibly the Eagles hopes as odds on they will drop their next 3.

Damn shame. Two of the most fun guys to watch in the NFL are Aaron Rodgers and Carson Wentz. Both have been injured.

Foles has strung together some good games in his career. They might not be hurting as much as we think.

Now we won't be reminded week in week out for the rest of this season how bad the FO screwed up, by passing on Wentz.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

But all I have to do is think about Wentz and the visual image is enough to remind me of what might have been.

Now that Wentz is out for the year can we please stop forecasting future injuries onto QB prospects? Any and every franchise QB will eventually have a season ending injury. Not because they are weak or prone to it, it's because you cannot play 10+ years as a QB and not get injured.

Well there have been QB's who have went through a large part of their careers injury free. Or at least without serious injury. But in the end, if they play long enough, they usually sustain that type of injury. I will say however, that a history of injuries coming into the NFL, if numerous, is certainly a cause for concern.

NFL Panic Index 2017, Week 15: Browns’ quarterback curse is spreading The Browns have somehow managed to spread the Cleveland curse to two quarterbacks they didn’t even draft — Carson Wentz and Deshaun Watson. They could have drafted Wentz at No. 2 in 2016 if they hadn’t traded the pick away to the Eagles. And the Browns could have recovered from passing on Wentz and finally locked up a franchise quarterback if they’d taken Watson in April. Instead, they traded the pick to the Texans. https://www.sbnation.com/2017/12/13/1676...-russell-wilson

See, DePo's analytics calculated the sheer numbers of QB's we've started, as well as the QB's we could have taken, their wins and stats, and a few other things... Long story short, DePo's computer found that by spreading the curse, we could actually bring down the rest of the league, there by shortening the distance we had to climb to get to the top of the mountain. This was my favorite part of the plan too because I found it fascinatinng how such a scientific method could produce such an un-scientific solution! Sucks Sashi is gone now. I was originally going to wear a chicken foot in a show of team support next week when I go to the Ravens game. I thought you of all people knew this Vambo.
