Rosenstein is testifying in front of the House Judiciary Committee and the republicans are going hard at him about Mueller, Peter Strzok, and bias in the FBI against Trump... They are frustrated they can't get a special investigator to investigate the investigators.

Rosenstein told them that the inspector general is investigating the allegations of impropriety. Other than that there is no basis to appoint a special counsel.

Republicans "Fake News, Dems out to get Trump, biased FBI, blah blah blah"... They want Mueller fired, the investigation into Trump ended and a special counsel appointed to investigate Clinton, Comey, Fusion GPS, the FBI, and the DOJ for collusion to undermine the Trump campaign! rolleyes

It's what they do when they know it's not going to end well for them.

I guess last night some sort of text or emails were released from Strzok and his wife talking about Trump winning. They were for Hillary and just like all dems that night were seriously floored that Trump won. They had choice words and ranted.

So Rosenstein let the press see those last night prior to today's hearing. WTH? Apparently the need to know was greater than the need to investigate. Committee Republicans used it as ammo today.

Texts show FBI agents fuming over Trump: 'Protect the country from that menace'

Republicans have pointed to them in raising questions about the objectivity of both the bureau and the Mueller probe.

In one exchange from August 2016, the FBI’s Lisa Page forwarded a Donald Trump-related article to Peter Strzok, writing: “And maybe you’re meant to stay where you are because you’re meant to protect the country from that menace.”

He responded: “Thanks. It’s absolutely true that we’re both very fortunate. And of course I’ll try and approach it that way. I just know it will be tough at times. I can protect our country at many levels, not sure if that helps.’”

The anti-Trump sentiments were clear from the start.

On March 2 2016, Strzok texted Page that someone "asked me who I’d vote for, guessed [Ohio Gov. John] Kasich."

“Seriously?! Would you not [vote] D[emocrat]?" Page responded.

"I don’t know," Strzok answered. "I suppose Hillary [Clinton]."

"I would [vote] D," Page affirmed.

Two days later, Page texted Strzok, "God, Trump is a loathsome human."

"Yet he many[sic] win," Strzok responded. "Good for Hillary."

Later the same day, Strzok texted Page, "Omg [Trump's] an idiot."

"He's awful," Page answered.

"America will get what the voting public deserves," said Strzok, to which Page responded. "That’s what I’m afraid of."

Twelve days later, after Trump took a commanding lead in the Republican delegate race with victories in key "Super Tuesday" primaries, Page texted Strzok, "I can not believe Donald Trump is likely to be an actual, serious candidate for president."

On Aug. 6, Page texted Strzok a New York Times article about Muslim lawyer Khzir Khan, who became embroiled in a war of words with Trump after Khan spoke at the Democratic National Convention.

"Jesus. You should read this. And Trump should go f himself," Page wrote in a message attached to the article.

“God that’s a great article," Strzok answered. "Thanks for sharing. And F TRUMP."

Yet another exchange appears to show efforts to conceal some of their conversations about Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

“So look, you say we text on that phone when we talk about Hillary because it can’t be traced, you were just venting, bc you feel bad that you’re gone so much but that can’t be helped right now,” Page wrote on April 2, 2016.

You're a funny guy. So you're saying anyone with any political affiliation can't do their job? Anyone with any political view isn't fit to investigate anyone?

Then there is nobody qualified to investigate anyone. But of course that's exactly what you want..... Unless it's Hillary. Then you'd have no problem with all Republicans investigating her.

Yes, you're a very funny man being led around by the nose by Trump & Company.

Time for a reality check there fella.

I would have to recuse myself from investigating anyone who I feel has sold this Country down the Pike.

They zeroed in on anti-Trump text messages exchanged between two FBI agents who once worked on the Mueller team.

“This is unbelievable,” said Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, voicing concern that the "public trust" in the probe is gone.

Republicans for weeks have raised concerns that some investigators may be biased, citing everything from their political donations to past work representing top Democratic figures and allied groups including the Clinton Foundation.

Crazy how they are all dems when Rosenstein admitted that about 90% of Law Enforcement is conservative... Then went on to say that political affiliation does not affect them on the job. They have checks and balances for that. The inspector general polices it with a multimillion dollar budget and thousands of investigating employees.

Maybe, just maybe... that any real investigators become more and more biased against Trump the more and more they learn about him?

You buy the line that race doesn't affect most law enforcement on the job.. but political beliefs evidently do.... what's the difference? Can we trust law enforcement to put personal biases aside and do their job or not?

Well, in fairness, if a cop is going on and sending texts, etc, saying things like "that black guy is a d-bag", or "F that black guy/girl" etc, I certainly wouldn't want that cop investigating that individual.

Would you?

Or, turn it the other way:

You, a white person, are being investigated by a person of some other race. A person that is on record as despising you, and your race. Texts, emails, etc. "DC is a d-bag".

"DC is an F'n moron" etc.

You comfortable with that person doing the investigation of you?

Or, even better yet.

You are an engineer. Your company get's a job, but there's a claim that you paid someone to get that job.

Would you be comfortable having an engineer from a competing company - a company that lost the job to your company - doing any part of the investigation against you and your company?

(I'm not trying to be a jerk here, trust me.)

Republicans just nominated a court judge, who has been thrown off the bench twice, who believes that the USA was better under slavery, and now they think that their might be some bias in the legal system. The cognitive dissonance going on in their party is hysterical.

They made a poor choice.

He didn't get elected anyway.

(and for the record, he didn't say the u.s. was better under slavery - he in fact said "despite slavery") Things like this are why I don't take you seriously anymore.

Honestly, with all the twisting and misquoting you do, it's sad.

Only if you have an Investigation major.

Also, the dude said the country was on the right track back then, if you read the actual quote and not just a snippet. Then again you'd have to read something in full to do that...

I thought majors didn't mean anything? And what the hell is an "investigation" major???

Bias does mean something. A lot. But, you'd have to get your head out of something to realize that. Good luck.

This is only a problem if investigators fabricate evidence, omit exculpatory evidence, or make things up.

As long as they zealously and honestly follow the evidence, that's all that should be required of them.

Same should have been expected of those working for Ken Starr while he investigated William Jefferson Clinton.

Some of the Text by Strzork

Quote:
“God trump is a loathsome human….omg he’s an idiot.”

“He’s awful,” Strzok replied.

Quote:
“I am riled up. Trump is a f**king idiot,

Quote:
“I can’t pull away. What the f**k happened to our country??!?!”

Quote:
“God trump is a loathsome human,”

Quote:
“God that’s a great article. Thanks for sharing. And F Trump.”

Quote:
On August 26, 2016, Strzok told Page he went to a Walmart in southern Virginia and he could “SMELL the Trump support.…”

Page said she is out to lunch with someone whose name is redacted, and added they both “hate everyone and everything.”

“I want to be there and hate with you, or charm you back to happy,” Strzok replied.

“Just riffing on the hot mess that is our country,” said Page.

Nope, no bias at all towards the person they are investigating. No hate for Americans at all. This is the guy that also requested for "gross negligence" to be changed to "extremely careless". Because "gross negligence" is prosecutable. He also was the one that lead the investigation into Hilary if I am not mistaken.

You can agree with everything he has said, that's not the point. The point is, this is a farce of special counsel.

Someone stated 90% of the FBI is conservative, then how come the MAJORITY of this investigative team are Clinton donors and at least 1 WORKED on her campaign.

Seems to me they protest too much. They must feel Muellers breath on their necks...

If, and that's a BIG IF, Trump did nothing wrong, then let it play out.

If he's cleared, it will be big news for him.

I suspect he knows he's in trouble and is pressing to get Mueller fired.,

I just don't see that happening.

Question, can he have Sessions fire Rosenstein and then have his replacement fire Mueller? Or, can Session un recuse himself and fire Mueller?

Either way, that's bad news for Sessions and Trump and apparently some of Trumps family.

Geez, 9 hours of getting Grilled yesterday behind closed doors has got to be unsettling to Don Jr.

Trump can fire anyone at anytime. Yes, Sessions can fire Rosenstein and his replacement could fire Mueller but it's highly unlikely. No, Sessions can not un-recuse himself as the conditions for the original recusal can not change and he would open himself up to legal issues.

The only way Mueller gets fired imho is if Trump does it. This would be a huge mistake on his part. He would immediately come under fire from congress and probably be impeached for it.

The GOP might protest now but if Trump were to give them an opening like that, many of them would side with Dems to rid themselves of him.

Trump's only hope is to come clean and to throw everyone under the bus. He'll still be impeached but at least he would have told the truth to get his pardon to protect him from going to prison.

But I expect him to have a Nixon moment... "I am not a crook" spreading candy tweets to his minions.

Whatabout the text messages!

Give up the act. You’re just salty they’re investigating this, and that it might take down some people in the administration.

Obviously party comes before country for you.

And before the “well, party comes before country” comeback from you, I was on record that Al Franken should’ve resigned from the very beginning.

You stated, despite factual statements about Moore being a total creep, that he should’ve stayed in the race. Party before country is what you stand for.

It's not even party before country because many on the right finally started stepping up to do what was the right thing and call a creep a creep. This is 100% Trump. These people are holding so tight to their dream of Trump being something he sold them on instead of what he really is that they are selling their souls to stand by him!

I can't imagine that 40 or Willit would have done this 4 years ago. Nope. 100% Trump.

You know what really frosts my nads about this whole thing? I can't even begin to count the number of times on this board or on FB that I have seen these same 'God Fearing' men and women call out child molesters and abusers condemning them on the initial report of impropriety. Yet since Trump started campaigning these same decent people have absolutely sold out on all their moral convictions to support this deplorable lunatic.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg! The attitude toward Russia, ignoring FACTS, the FAKE NEWS BS, bold face lies being justified, crude statements being justified, justification of all kinds of abnormal behavior... It's all becoming normal with Trump supporters!

I don't want to hate, feel divided from, or even dislike many of these people. Hell some of them are family! But I find it harder and harder every day! And I know they are decent people, I just can't fathom this hold Trump and Company have on them, it's like I'm on a bad acid trip in the land of bizarre crap everywhere.
