Cal, I have no proof, no articles, no nothing........but I truly believe we will take one of those two guys. I do wonder if Darnold is coming out, though.

Vers if Rosen and Darnold both stay in school I have a solution. We don't draft any QB, sign a vet QB, take the best players available with our 2 1st's and let DK be our starting QB in 2018. In that scenario we have an excellent chance of picking 1st again next year!!! Then Rosen and Darnold will be in the same predicament next year as they are now nanner

I'm going to stand pat and say Mayfield will be our #1 pick. I think some people will be turned off by this but it's absolutely the right pick. The more I read about Dorsey the more I believe this could be true. Mayfield won't need a bridge, just start him from day one.

Can you imagine also getting the #2 pick in the draft? What do you do? I'd seriously consider trading it. You could still get another top ten pick plus a second first round pick next year. I get it, no trades, but this is how dynasties are built.

why trade it? when you can pick up Barkley or Minkah?

if you can get Bell, Gurly, zeke, type production with the second of our picks at #4? then why wouldn't we?

I believe players have to declare for the draft before FA begins. If both Rosen and Darnold decide to return for school, we have to go all in for Cousins.

We then use those first two picks for players who will build a team around him. Maybe draft a Mason Rudolph in the 2nd.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

I could be OK with this. I really do not want another reach, project delay, let's lose while we wait and see what we've got QB. IF it is that again, get a starting vet to bring them along.
But get the guy, flush or trade what we have. I just want somebody viable to compete and give them serious ammo.

Not nuts about Darnold even if he comes out. But would take him if GM agrees.

WE need a winner to replace this loser. Darnold seems to solve stuff, adjust well. Kizer is seeing more, achieving less at this point. Upgrade is mandatory. We don't have enough talent to carry him, and our defense can't change itself to stop the losses.

Mayfield plays in a goofy offense. Not sure how that makes him ready to start day one?

I have seen him ranked as high as seventh, by Matt Miller. But, most have him going in the 2nd or 3rd round. McShay does have him at 27.

His character concerns will also be an issue for a team that is not too far removed from Manziel.

I strongly doubt he will be considered by us w/either of our top two picks.

God, I hope not. I hope we have our new QB two minutes into the draft. Two minutes after that I want to see Rosen hugging the commish and holding up a #1 Browns jersey.

There aren't really any character concerns. "Oh, but he was arrested!" Maybe initially, but once teams can interview, Mayfield will shoot up the draft board. Kids make mistakes. Most, probably not all, of us have been drunk at one point in our life. And he wasn't driving, he wasn't underaged, he was simply walking down the street.

"Oh the crotch grab!" Yeah, so it wasn't the most pleasant thing to see on tv, but I love that he plays with passion. The Kansas team wouldn't shake his hand to start the game, so who started it? Mayfield finished it. I believe what Kansas did was far more disrespectful. Alas, Mayfield was punished, benched for part of the game and demoted from captainship for the game. He cried and apologized. Despite all that, his teammates carried his flag to midfield during introductions/coin toss to honor him. His teammates would walk through walls for him.

"Oh but the Oklahoma flag after the Ohio state game!" If I recall, there weren't many if any analysts/ "experts" who thought oklahoma was going to win. (Players read/watch). He proved them wrong and he wanted people to know about it. I have no issue with what he did and many don't, except Ohio state fans of course.

Unlike Johnny, Mayfield cares about football. Football is his #1 priorty. He has a drink now and again, but I hate to break it the Rosen fans, but Josh drinks beer too. o

Mayfield is a phenomenal player. Very good arm strength and a great passer. He is terrific in the pocket with great vision as well as terrific on the run. He has a high release can make all the throws and leads his receivers to yac. He very well might be the most accurate passer in the draft. I'm not an expert by any means especially on footwork but I love how he dances in the pocket and keeps his eyes downfield.

He's very good at presnap reads and going through his progressions. He doesn't play a lot under center, but he has and I feel like this is very similar to Russell Wilson. Of course Wilson's arm is better.

Rosen definitely looks the part of NFL QB. Perhaps a bit lean. But really either one would suffice and either could start week one in the NFL, but I just happen to love Mayfield. It would be foolish for us not to consider Mayfield at #1. I don't think Dorsey will overlook him. And I think even if Rosen and Darnold enter the draft, Mayfield will be a top 5 pick. Here's hoping he goes #1.

Why do you keep starting sentences with: "Oh, ..." LOL.

Oh, you forgot him injuring a player by throwing the ball at him before the game.

Oh, you forgot opponents refusing to shake his hand.

Oh, and you forgot that he plays in an offense that is as far away from an NFL offense as one can get.

Oh, let's draft him anyway.

The Oh's were to emphasize the negatives the detractors would erroneously bring up... such as you just illustrated above. You obviously didn't read what I wrote, so this was a big waste of time. Carry on.

Don't worry, if the top QBs stay in school Dorsey will set us up for next year and keep Hue one more year so we are guaranteed the #1 pick in 2019! Brilliant!

I'm not sure what the tie breakers are .. but I do know that the Texans still have to play the Colts in their last game. The Colts won the first game between the teams.

Now dawgs don't go banana's on me I'm just brain farting in public...lol

But if you look at that list
#2 Eli Manning, #3 Luck, #4 us, #5 JG

We could actually trade back to #6 with a boat load in return and still get the 2nd QB in this draft assuming they are trading up to get QB.

Especially if we would like to target Mayfield over a Rosen/Darnold.

We take QB at #4 and have #6 pick with maybe another 2nd rounder and 2 more 1st round picks maybe in 2019 and 2020 drafts???

Before the fires are lit if we or sold on Rosen...and I mean Sold no split camps on him. Even if somebody offers us 4 first round picks We don't trade back!

But if we are ehhh about the said top guys and are in love with Mayfield. Most certainly trade back!

jmho

Note again I listed vets to acquire as Bridge QBs in FA and trade form. To have a list.

Some posters like cfrs wish to belittle a choice made to list a QB...its pretty much irrelevant I just was making a list.
of possibles.

I don't see too many who have I guess a preference of a Bridge QB.

Why I say we will. Dorsey wants the losing to stop as an IMPERATIVE! Hue cannot afford to groom a Franchise QB while he is starting and risk losing 3-4 games in a row to start off....his leash going into year 3 is a very short one.

That is why we will 90% assured be getting a Bridge QB to start and if the kid is ready around game #5 or later not saying you don't play him at all. Especially if our Bridge guy is like 2-3 in the W/L column.

But no doubt that Dorsey and Hue are going to come out of the GATES winning football games!
