Agree, really all of them...the coach, their FRESHMAN QB, what an awesome game.

Between this one and the UCF game, it's been a pretty darn good day of football.

Watching ESPN's coaches film room. It's pretty interesting to hear the other coaches talk about the play calling and the players. They went right from the end of the Rose Bowl to the start of the Sugar Bowl.

What a joke ... If Wisconsin would have set out the Big Ten Championship game they would have went ahead of Alabama and like UCF is saying this system is flawed

It was a good showing for the Big 10. Maybe next year they will get more love.

The fact is the SEC has been doing that for a decade or more. The SEC got the call because both teams are very good...they did beat a couple of good teams, and nation wide, people want to watch the SEC.

As of next Tuesday, the SEC will chalk up another championship trophy.

I will root for Ga, but if Alabama wins another, good for them. Go SEC.

Spoken like a true SEC fan. If you don't have a team in the mix, you root SEC no matter what. If 2 are in, you can celebrate early.

It's a can't lose deal.

Meanwhile UCF is having two parades to honor their national championship. One at Magic Kingdom and one Downtown at Church Street.

Fun side note, they aren't just claiming the title for attention, they are even paying the staff the bonuses the would receive for winning the title. They are all in on it.

Good. The playoff system is a joke.

Consider ESPN's influence on the committee. They disrespect the Big 10 all the time. Each and every year that the Big had a bad bowl record, they would hammer us over and over and over about how bad our conference was. This year, the Big goes 7 and 1 and they keep saying that you can't look at the results of the bowl games as indicator of the strength of the conferences. LMAO............unreal!

Look, here is the bottom line. The Big reached out to ESPN to adopt the Big 10 Network. ESPN balked. The Big went to Fox. Fox accepted. That also led to prime time games w/Ohio State appearing on Fox Networks. This angered ESPN. They then started the SEC Network.

Thus, the main message from ESPN's commentators is to bad mouth the Big and pump-up the SEC. Then, we have people regurgitating what they say..........such as when Diam said the Big sucked this year. There was no factual evidence of that. Instead, it is what ESPN feeds it's listeners.

The Big was the best conference in the land this year, but politics and money are influencing the landscape of the national playoffs.

We need a change. Screw ESPN's power and influence. Make this thing fair. Teams like UCF, Ohio State, and Wisconsin are viable candidates despite what ESPN says.

Thanks. I did not know that.

I wonder if that will level the playing field a bit in regards to unbiased reporting and influence over the committee's decisions?

I do want to add one more thing.............I do not like this Power 5 crap. Why can't UCF be considered for the playoffs?

Only the regional Fox Sports was included in the deal. Not sure where Big10 Network falls into that.

They are. I'd like a expanded playoffs, but 4 is a start. I can see it moving to 16 teams .

Only way I see the playoffs expanding is if they start paying the players. That's a lot of extra wear and tear.

The Big 10 apparently falls outside of that.

https://www.si.com/tech-media/2017/12/14/espn-disney-fox-sports-regional-networks

I guess Fox is keeping their stake in BTN (Which makes sense, they signed the B1G to an outrageous contract. I believe each school got a 50 million dollar signing bonus. It's why Lovie Smith, PJ Fleck and now Scott Frost are coaching in the B1G). So it looks like we still have another 8+ years fight with the Evil Empire.

Lower divisions of college football do it every year with no problems.

They also have very few NFL prospects. The playoff is fine as it is. There isn't 4 teams worthy of the playoffs every year, let alone 8. And if there was an 8, there's no guarantee that UCF would be in it.

I do not believe ESPN has an axe to grind against Ohio State or the Big Ten. Basically their whole GameDay show is Big Ten grads. Herby (OSU) Desmond (Mich), Even Corso coached Indiana. Twice since the playoffs started Ohio State got the benefit of the doubt and jumped into the Playoffs. In their National Title year they jumped TCU and Baylor and proved it was the correct decision. Last year they were a 1 loss non conf. champion like Alabama this year and they got in. The committee's is not influenced by ESPN.

By the way I think they should only take Conference champions. That way the playoffs really start on the first Saturday in December with 10.

I don't buy the conf champ only. Many times a conference can have the 2 best teams in the land....just look at this year.

UCF went undefeated after beating a team that just beat both of those teams..
