I think McShay had over 20 Mock drafts...LOL. With that said, both and Kiper's final mocks were pretty good. And both had enough sense to put Peppers in the first round.

Both of them had to realize there was a good chance we'd take Garrett over Trubisky, even though they picked Trub at #1.

This is slightly off topic, but I prefer Big Boards over Mock Drafts. I like ranking the players better because trades or even one or two crazy picks can really ruin an entire mock. Man, remember when the Jets picked Mike Nugent? LMAO

Actually I have no problem with Todd and Mel.
I take both with a grain of salt. Mocks and rankings are good reference points. But trades always blow things up.
For the most part the top ten go somewhere in the top ten.

Jc...
He kind of reminds me Of Brock Osweiler mixed with some Josh McCown...Not the crappy Osweiler of now, but when he had a lot of potential coming out of Arizona State.

Mayock will say whatever the agents pay him to say on QBs. I'd only listen to him about DBs because that is his specialty.

If you really think about it, and agents are paying these guys to rank their clients high in their mocks which I'm not denying, and there are GMs actually listening... then I would think you have the wrong GM.

'Browns should draft Josh Allen No. 1, says one NFL exec, and Mel Kiper Jr. agrees'http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ss...art_river_index______________________________________ P.S. I still think I'd rather draft Josh Rosen.

From what little QB video I've watched, Allen does appear to be one of the top QB prospects in this draft...imo.
Too early for me to make any final projections...

If I'm an NFL exec not with the Browns, I'd want them to take Allen #1 too.
Maybe Allen will do some good things in his career but there's no way I'm using the #1 pick on him.

I don't believe for a moment that Mike Mayock is taking money or gifts from agents. . . any proof of that?
I also agree with whoever it was that indicated Mayock is the best of the talking heads when it comes to rating and ranking players.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

All the speculation is what fuels the off season.
For the GM's it is all about the leg work. Go over the scouting reports. Watch the tape over and over again.
Check with medical on the physicals. Get all the measurables.
And finally bring them in for private workouts. That is where you get to look under the hood. Will the guy fit in? What's he made of? Can he grasp the playbook? What is he like on the Chalk Board. Work him out with guys. Learn who the guy is.
Keep in mind GM's make this decision. They rely on the people around him. They will dig deep.

Ask yourself this. Who does Mayock work for and what is that employer's goal?
He is not an independent contractor but just another salaryman.

Mayock has always come across as a honest guy.
He has always given his opinion. Not like he is spouting some agenda.
I like the guy. Don't always agree but I respect his opinion.

I like the guy too but every one of these guys get paid to entertain and part of that is to push one prospect or another.
I listen to Mayock on DBs but on everything else I take it with a grain of salt. He is wrong plenty of times on anything but DBs. He is usually spot on though when it comes to DBs.
I am the same way. I am good for an opinion on QBs and Offensive line but I tend to defer to others on other positions because I know that is not my forte so to speak.

Rosen No. 1 and Allen at No.4! I know it would never happen and I am not entirely serious. But for a team that hasn't had a QB in 25 years, and with a good QB class lining up with a rare first round opportunity, we could really minimize the chances of screwing this up.

The thing with Allen is he Does do some things well. Throw on the run. He does look through his progressions. Has been under center. Nobody throws better then this kid on the run.
His bad is bad though. Can it be fixed? IDK, possibly. His throwing mechanics aren’t bad, his feet are. To many times his feet are not where they should be. When he does get them right he’s really accurate. Not as much when he doesn’t.
He needs to show better poise, shift around in the pocket more and not look to escape so much. Takes off to early to many times. He makes bad decisions at times, to many, leads to his inaccuracy. And I hope he really quiets those feet.
That being said, watch some of his tape, the kid can make throws that maybe only a handful of QBs ever have been able to make. I’m talking throwing a deep out to the opposite side of the field that’s on a rope. And if he sets his feet right, he can put it right on the money.
So if you think the kid can fix the issues I think he’s worthy of a top 5 pick, if you think he’ll struggle doing that, he looks more like a second or third rounder.
Just want to say I’m not projecting where he ends up going just giving my thoughts on him.

Very fair assessment. I haven't seen a QB be able to throw back across his body, running away from the receiver, with accuracy and arm strength like his since Elway. I would love to see what he could do with a solid o-line and time to survey the field, with quality weapons to throw to.

Josh Allen: 'I Want to Be the Guy That Turns Around the Cleveland Browns' http://bleacherreport.com/articles/27554...leveland-browns"To think about that and to put yourself in that situation and in those shoes, you gotta love that as a quarterback and you gotta love that as a football player and competitor," he said. "This is something that can really be set in stone forever, if you're the guy that can help turn this Cleveland Browns team around. I know they've got the youngest team in the NFL, they've got the most cap space, the most high draft picks, brand-new GM who has done a lot of good things in his past."

I feel like we've seen this before... "We're sitting there and they keep showing Johnny on T.V. and Johnny and I are texting and he shoots me a text and he says, 'I wish you guys would come get me. Hurry up and draft me because I want to be there. I want to wreck this league together.'...When I got that text, I forwarded it to [owner Jimmy Haslam] and to [head coach Mike Pettine]...I'm like 'this guy wants to be here. He wants to be part of it.' As soon as that happened, Mr. Haslam said, 'pull the trigger. We're trading up to go get this guy.'''
