*Putting my gloves back on and holding the ropes open to let Mantis back in the ring*

OK now we are getting somewhere. It's your opinion that the girl was sexually abused (even if it was never mentioned or brought up during the whole time it was discussed on Prime Time) and thats fine since in my opinion the girl was stupid. We are both entitled to our own opinions

BUT now you go on to insult me I said the girl was stupid and you call what I said OFFENSIVE and DISHONEST, yet you have no proof that the girl was ever sexually assulted before this happened. So what your really saying is your opinion is correct and mine is wrong, and I am a liar. Thats as clear as a bell bro.

[color:"white"] From now on should I start all my posts with the heading "THIS IS JUST MY OPINION'? I mean this is a message board, I thought that went without saying. Now my opinion is based on the evidence I saw in the video, and yes, I think I am right and you are wrong. PrimeTime would not go so deep as to investigate HOW this all could happen. Its purpose is to provide superficial sensationalism to its audience. A psychological investigation would not be entertaining enough for the people. But I don't need PrimeTime to tell me what to think, I can draw my own conclusions. And yes, I do find your assesment of that girl very offensive. Did you watch the entire video? Did you see the part where she was bent over naked allowing herself to be spanked? Did you see the part where she performed the sex act? Are you saying she was so stupid she thought she was being ordered by a cop to do these things? That is so weak, GM. She knew something was wrong, she was begging the female manager to rescue her because she was incapable of rescuing herself - and not because she was stupid, but because she didn't know anything else but the role of a victim. I suppose you think women who stay with abusive husbands are stupid too? I mean, it couldn't possibly be that they are afraid to leave because they have been turned into dependents by a cycle of abuse that started when they were young. Oh no, their all just morons. [/color]

Can we assume that being a small town girl, she might just be a bit naive?

I've seen some very smart people who were very naive as a teen-ager. Often times it has stemmed from a sheltered life their parents THINK are so wholesome and protective.

When you're not taught just how cruel and obscene society can be,you're simply not prepared to deal with such a situation at that age. That's why IMO,trying to "protect your children" is a very fine line to walk.

Yes I am saying she was that stupid, and thats my opinion after seeing the evidence in the entire video.

She was capable of rescuing herself, she just didn't do it.

Can we assume that.... sure we can, just like I assume she was stupid, andMantis assumes she was abused. Hell for all we know we could all three be right. She may be stupid abused, and naive, or maybe she isn't any of those. We just don't know for sure.

I agree to a point. I think that line falls right on when/how you allow kids to make decisions for themselves... You see too many parents who take the attitude that kids will do what kids want to do and as a parent I have no right to make decisions for them, even when they are little... I think most would agree that is a flawed theory.. you have to guide a kids decision making process as they grow and learn, giving them more and more decision making responsibility and freedom as they prove they can handle it.... the flip side to that is the parents who NEVER allow their kids to make a decision for fear that they will make a bad one, even a simple one like what to wear or what games to play... another flawed theory because then your kids never learn to make their own decisions, their own mistakes, and they never get the learning process that goes with that....

Kids need to be taught how to make good decisions, how to think through the consequences of those decisions ahead of time, and how to be accountable for the decisions they make should they go bad.... it starts with simple things when they're little and grows as their own maturity grows....

I'll buy that.

I just know a lot of pretty smart people that were very naive as a teen and thought I would throw that possibility into the mix.

I completly agree DC.
That's why my summary was "It's a fine line to walk".

You need to protect your children, yet permit them to make their own decisions and prepare them for life at the same time. Pretty trickey business. And despite what many believe, there is no hand book on raising children. Each one is an individual.

I just see this as a valid possibility in this case. Nothing more and nothing less.
