He also just went from a Massachusetts income tax of 5.1% to a California income tax of 13.3%. He can have his wealth manager/attorney setup an incomplete gift, non-grantor trust in a state like Nevada or Delaware and slash his exposure to California's state income tax significantly. It's a trendy practice among the wealthy to shield yourself from high state income taxes. He won't be able to shield his earned income under any scheme. Investment income? Sure. Not earned income tho. Players are taxed based on where the games are played, not just where their home team is located. They have to pay income taxes at the rates set by states and localities on away games too. Unfortunately this means JG still has 10 games in Cali, but they do have two games in Washington, which has no income tax.

I would want to play for Jacksonville, then.
No state income tax in FL, TN, and TX - 10 games a year.

Saw that Scotsdale AZ area just doubled in population over the last year.
California is losing their Middle and Upper Middle class.
Just poor and Multi Millionaires will be able to live there soon. Texas, Arizona and Nevada getting a lot of addition.
