Actually there really aren't many cities in Indiana that are large enough for concentrated gang activity. Even Indianapolis doesn't have close to the poverty that Chicago does.

I'm not really sure what you are talking about. It's easy to go to a neighboring state with more lax gun laws to buy firearms. It's easy to go to a gun show and buy firearms from another individual who is not a firearms dealer without filling out any paperwork at all. Both are legal to do. I'm not advocating for stronger laws. I'm simply stating a very easy way to get around any state and local laws if one so chooses to.
Yet as you can see, this is how people get away from the actual topic at hand.
And as hard as it is to believe, we actually agree on the common sense way to help keep our school children safe. Armed guards who are actually professionals at handling these situations and metal detectors at the entrances. There's 300,000,000 guns on our streets already. The genie is out of the bottle and the second amendment gives us the right to bear arms.
All we can do is to try to keep guns out of the hands of crazy people and protect our kids.

President Trump told a gathering of the nation’s governors on Monday that he would have heroically run into the high school where a gunman armed with an assault rifle was massacring 17 people “even if I didn’t have a weapon.”
“I really believe I’d run in there even if I didn’t have a weapon,” the commander-in-chief declared.
Trump — who got five deferments to avoid military service in Vietnam — made the comments while criticizing officers who didn’t stop the Florida gunman who carried out the bloodbath at the high school in Parkland, Florida.
The deputies, he added, “weren’t exactly Medal of Honor winners.”
Nikolas Cruz, 19, a former student at the school, killed 14 students and three staffers and wounded many others during the Valentine’s Day rampage.
I know it won't get past your hate but I saw Trump attacked on stage during the campaign and he did not run. He did not hide. He did not call for help. He did not call for Secret Service.
He turned towards the assailant with his hands out to fight. It was his natural reaction to an attack.

With the gun debate in full force after the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last week, one Democrat representative admitted to using incorrect terminology for firearms.
Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., was confronted for his use the term “assault rifle” to talk about the AR-15, and he responded on Twitter.
“How quaint that some folks are more concerned about kids speaking respectfully than the fact that 17 kids were slaughtered with an assault rifle,” he said in a tweet.
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, assault rifles “can be set for automatic or semiautomatic fire.” Assault rifles have also been banned to the public since 1934, according to Independent Journal Review.
One Twitter user pointed out the representative’s mistake, and Lieu responded: “I will keep saying assault rifle if I feel like it. I will not let you define what I can or cannot say.”

The legal drinking age is 21 yet we have underage drinking problem. It's illegal to do drugs yet the is an Opioids epidemic.
It's not the people doing things legally! People who want to commit a crime will get what they need.
The system got lazy didn't report the signs and let a 18 year old with mental issue slip through which enabled him to purchase a gun. Had the system worked he would not have legally been able to buy the gun.
Or they go off to war for 2 years and can't own a gun till they are 21 when they get home.
