I haven't found the date for Mike Mayock's pre-combine tele-conference with the media but when it comes out i'll post it.

But there is this....

I don't know how you think I assume you or anyone else places a great value on the combine.

You did bring up a good point on the medicals....no doubt that is important. Obviously they have to check out there. That to me a part of the interview process.

The thing I don't like about the interviews is it is easy for a GM to fall in love with a guy. Cool, but the tape better back it up.

What comment would that be? I never said people thought it was "everything."

I think I said something like some fans and media types overvalue the Combine. That isn't something that really can be debated.

I am not arguing. I am simply saying that I never said that people think it's "everything."

Are you disagreeing that the media and some fans place too much importance on the drills?

For example, I mentioned the QBs throwing the ball. They aren't being rushed. They don't have to deal w/reading the coverage. Hell, no one is even covering the receivers. Yet, people talk about how this guy really helped himself. LOL........it's comical.

Me? I'm just letting him know it was a j/c.

I'm not about to jump into a fight today when you already have two or three going right now.

This is between "A" and "B" so I'll "C" my way out of it right now.

I for one look forward to the combine. For me, it's another piece of the puzzle and frankly I think the overall impact of the combine, physicals, interviews, performances and GM's getting eyeball to eyeball with potential roster talent is important. I had hoped others would feel the same way or at least appreciate some football to discuss during the silly season.

I'm somewhat saddened to see posters trash my post with silly ashed arguments when we have so much to discuss, as a favor to me please cease and desist petty arguing. Respectful discussions and disagreements are more than ok.

I hate what we have had to show for it lately. Our due diligence or simple-minded judgment was lacking here. Some weak choices became even worse at 0-18. I feel better about trying to assemble an improved and NFL roster. Hope we make some good picks in middle and late rounds.

For what it is worth, dawgs, my life LOVES the Combine! She watches it with me and is fascinated. Tickles me to have her wound up over it every year. Good woman that, eh? Anyhow, she has her schedule together already. I am so proud of her. FWIW. I was shocked, but she does watch.

Measurements started today. Unsurprisingly, Barkley weighed in the heaviest of RBs at 233 lbs.

Am I right here, I read that Darnold isn't going to throw at the Combine? is that correct? Why not? Anyone know

afraid Rosen, Jackson and Allen's arm strength will make him look average. Only reason I can think of, fears competition.

Nah, it's probably due to him reworking his throwing motion and he doesn't have all the kinks worked out yet.

Why do you think Luck didn't throw?

How about Matt Stafford, or Sam Braford?

Some guys dont throw cause they are going #1. FOr those guys there is nothing to be gained.

Darnold could easily end up being the 3 or 4 QB off the board instead of #1 overall. Things are that uncertain at the top. When you are trying to win over teams.

#1 is gonna get about 31 mil
say he drops to 7 thats around 19 mil

I just see this is an opportunity for him to shine where all things are somewhat even between the QBs. Rosen wants to compete. Rudolph wants to compete. Mayfield wants to compete.

When asked why he isnt working out, and he says his agent advised him not to, well does that gm want a guy that is completely controlled by his agent. When things are even it doesnt take much to cost you lots of money. he is gonna get drafted, he is gonna go top 10, but each time a team passes its gonna cost millions.

Darnold throwing or not throwing at the combine will have absolutely nothing to do with where he is drafted.

Probably right, and it won't cost him millions either, if he falls. And we won't fall very far.

I am not talking about him falling or anything like that........but one thing to consider.

Dude is changing his throwing motion. Teddy Bridgewater didn't throw during the Combine because he had an injury and he was trying to throw differently. Remember his pro day throws? Ugly. He fell in the draft as a result.

Sometimes, when you change your throwing motion, things don't click right away. I'm thinking that Darnold's new throwing motion might not be working out so well thus far and that is why he is not throwing, as per advice from his agent.

Look at the dude from the 76ers.............what's his name? Foltz? Changed his shot and no he can't hit the broad side of the barn.

It is a bit of a concern that Darnold isn't throwing at the the Combine, especially because he said he was going to throw earlier.

I'd reckon we'll find out soon enough. He'll have his pro-day and he'll have a private work with us.

I'm not too worried about it. If something's wrong, we'll take that into account.

I thought one of Bridgewater's problems though was that he threw without gloves or something. Teddy always wore gloves and then didn't to his workout for some reason

Rosen looks so thin, you'd think he'd be a foot taller than Darnold to weigh that much.

Weird.

Height: 6-4 5/8
Weight: 235
Hand: 9 1/8
Arm: 32 3/8
Wingspan: 77 7/8

Also I saw Mayfield grew 1/4 inch. 6'0" 3/8 at the senior bowl to 6'0" 5/8 at the combine.

Maybe by April 26 he'll be 6'3".

also, for people complaining about Lamar's frame and his legs, rosen is damn near anorexic compared to him.
