Yep it’s my biggest issue with Lue, he seems 2 steps behind. When his plan doesn’t work, there never seems to be an urgency to make changes, JR and TT in the starting lineup is dumb when we have two FAR superior players waiting

We have to reward performance, not contracts or egos. Starting five should be your best at each position, not the guys who have been there longest. It also hurts the locker room imho.

Like how Lue prefer to not make any changes when they are in a historic stretch of horrid basketball because if it fixed it then it would hurt these millionaires feelings

Looks like Lue will be forced as TT sprained his ankle. Out multiple games.

Showing yet again how bad Lue is. Not a single thing TT does that justifies starting. Same with Jr

Cavs 90 Pistons 70 going into the final quarter.
Would be nice to put them away easily for once.

I have a few questions for you guys.
I see a ton of talk about the starting five. Alright.......cool.
I do have a few questions for all the BB geniuses on this site, though:
Does the starting five play the entire game?
Shouldn't some offensive fire power be reserved for the second unit?
What's more important, who starts the game or who finishes the game?

If Korver and JR play like they're supposed to, and Clarkson in the mix, that should be plenty of firepower. Finish with whoever has the hot hand. Size wise, there's only TT and Cedi left, though.

Cedi fouls too quickly when he's up against someone more powerful it seems. Now, Ante Zizic is someone who could start stepping up. Had some minutes yesterday and didn't look like it was way too much for him.
He's 6'11.

He's 6'11. I can see Lue giving big Z minutes when GSW brings zaza off the bench.

its funny guys stepping up like Zizic, I've said about Lue all year he sticks with things that aren't working too long, doesn't go deep enough on his bench looking for a spark. Especially during that horrid stretch when you probably just needed a guy to come in and spark. Get guys playing for each other again. Like Cedi did, he's much better now than he was, still a rookie and will have mistakes. He shouldn't be starting, but he's a guy who can provide energy with that second unit. Scoring on the second unit should come from Korver, green and JR. Korver and green have been huge letdowns. We gave up a first for Korver and he's so hot an cold. I will say though he's not that good at it, the effort on defense is there with Korver and he hustles constantly regardless. Unlike JR who should have been traded for just about anything because he's just not worth the headache anymore. He's def. not a starting 2 guard. TT was the one they really should have gotten rid of, just so Lue wouldn't have been tempted to start him anymore. TT is so bad this year that its hard to put a finger on what happened. But then again he's only had one respectable year. Now, he makes 15 million a year more than Nance..lol. Nance can shoot alot better than I remember from a few games I watched. I guess he has 3 point range as well. Thats huge for us. Drummond last game against TT had 22 rebounds. Last night he had 9. Nance plays the position well. I'd like to see him cut down some of the bad fouls, but he's constantly hustling, so I don't mind too much

Nance has a much better post up game, can shoot mid range, better passer in the paint, and looks to be a better defensive presence.
We have to avoid these slow ass starts, and with TT starting, we are climbing out of a hole every single game. We can’t be relying on our second unit to dig us out of a hole every single game because 2 of our starters can’t score worth a damn.
Yea, it’s one game, but with this lineup, we avoided a slow start and kept a lead. Our bench maintained the lead, which is how it’s suppose to go down.
Also, that W-L without TT is something no TT loyalist can ignore. So far this year, we are a much better TT without him starting.

TT is so bad this year that its hard to put a finger on what happened. No, it's pretty easy to tell what happened. He needs to have that Kevin Love surgery to remove loose bodies. The only thing TT does well now is offensive rebounds. He used to be a good defender, but that seems to have gone away. He should probably be getting 10 minutes a game, but up until last night, Lue seemed content on giving him and Nance equal minutes. Nance is just a much better all-around player. Despite being shorter, he defends the post much better. You could see it the other night with Embiid. Against TT he seemed to score at will. When Nance was on him, he had to work much harder for his points. Add to that, Nance brings so much more on the offensive end than TT does. He should be getting 30+ minutes a game, not 20. JR I have mixed feeling on. I think age has caught up to him a bit, so he's not as fast on defense anymore. He can still go nuclear on offense, so it's worth giving him minutes to see if he can light it up. That said, we've got more than enough firepower at SG to reduce his minutes if he's not feeling it by the 3rd quarter. I saw a stat before the game yesterday that said the Cavs were something like +15 with Lebron plus the four new guys on the court together, yet they had only played together 12 minutes total.

So far this year, we are a much better TT without him starting. for sure, its not so much about starters/bench, its which group has chemistry and can set the tone for the game. Every single game almost it seemed we were digging out of a hole. Lebrons utilization skyrocketing and still losing winnable games. Ive made no attempt to hide my feelings on TT. I've maintained because he's BFF with lebron he has benefited without merit to his abilities. He doesn't do anything special. Compound with his zero offense and ball handling. He really can't do anything 100 guys in dleague can't. But his contract is criminal. The W/L is telling. If we go on another win streak without him, that should be the end of it

I was just thinking, from our Championship team just 2 years ago, only Lebron, Love, TT and JR remain. Maybe he's holding onto them for sentimental reason?

As far as starters go, I 'suppose' he can start JR and TT (and pull them after 2 minutes), but the pecking order as far as minutes go should probably look like:
1) Lebron 2) Love when he returns 3) Nance 4) Hill 5) Hood 6) Clarkson 7) Korver 8) JR 9) Osman 10) TT 11) Green 12) Zizic
And those last three should probably depend on the size of the team we're playing.

I am glad that he has sought help for his problem. It took a lot of courage to share his experience.
Hopefully he'll be back to 100%, mentally and physically, when he returns.
