Just to be clear. I didn't post that to knock Darnold. I just get tired of all the negative stuff written about Rosen while others get excuses made for them.
I think this draft has some major potential to be compared to the famous 1983 draft.
John Elway, Todd Blackledge, Jim Kelly, Tony Eason, Ken O'Brien, and Dan Marino.
Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield, Lamar Jackson, and Mason Rudolph.
I am excited and nervous with the #1 pick the Browns must get it right. As a fan this is the opportunity to see our teams fortunes turn around.
Rosen is the most complete QB of the group but has to clear the medical test.
Darnold has some really great intangibles mixed with good ability.
Allen has a cannon on his shoulder. Does he have good enough touch and accuracy to go with that cannon.
Mayfield is a fiery leader but is also smaller and has some off the field issues.
Jackson has the ability to be Mike Vick without Vick's baggage.
Rudolph looks the part but plays in a college friendly QB system that does not prepare QB for NFL reads.
With all of that said I think the Browns decision ends up coming down to Rosen's health. If he clears and it is determined that he only had 1 concussion and the bowl game hold out was merely precautionary. He will be the pick.
If he has had multiple concussions and it took numerous weeks to recover from his last concussion Darnold will be the pick.

Can you imagine the uproar if Josh Rosen would have chosen not to throw at the Combine and said he was unwilling to change something in his mechanics?
We now have people saying Rosen can't throw to his right and that he had a bad Combine.
I can't take much more of this nonsense.
You confuse me sometimes vers. I just searched thid thread 40 something posr n nobody talked negative on Rosen. A few gave Rosen a nod of preference for our pick on a Darnold pick
Just who are these posters that you cant take their nonsense anymore. Is this the wrong thread...truly I am confused???

We laughed about all BS about Rosen. Watched all his interviews etc. Never was a thing mentioned by him directly or the people in his direct circle that said he wasn't a good teammate, coachable, worked hard, or didn't love football.
He got into it early on with Dilfer. Which later Dilfer said he changed and has worked hard.
He was an easy target for that crap because of his background and being the Chosen one.
And again, bro............I know you and I don't agree on which one is the best between Rosen and Darnold, but we keep it cool. And my complaints were not directed towards you because you don't play that dumb ass game.
It should be fun watching these two dudes develop in the NFL.
I really don't want Darnold at #1, maybe #4. But most certainly not #1.
I really don't see what makes him the #1 overall pick based on his film or stats ( especially this past year).
This is a guy that has undoubtedly benefit from having superior elite athletic ability around him the past few years.
The only conclusion I can make surrounding Darnold is that he is just another "media prodigy" bolstered by all the white money going into USC and the scouting organizations in the NCAA and NFL.
I really can't see any other conclusion and would love for someone ( including Darnold ) to prove me wrong.

I like Darnold because when the pressure builds, his best comes out. That is something that separates great players from good ones. Yes he has flaws. But you see his best when the game is on the line.
(From the article linked below) While the 2017 season may not have lived up to the lofty expectations that were set for USC quarterback Sam Darnold, there was still plenty to like when it comes to his future projection. His 13 interceptions raised eyebrows in NFL circles, and they certainly tell a story, as that number could have been far higher and it was worse when adding bad fumbles into the mix. But Darnold’s season is best when broken into two parts. His four worst games came between Weeks 4 and 7, as he ranked 144th among 147 qualified quarterbacks nationally during that four-game stretch.
However, taking out those four games and he would have been ranked third in the nation behind only Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma State’s Mason Rudolph.
I dont know I dont think you can call it evaluating if you drop out games that skew the overall stats...unless you are a draft agency ran by the DNC. Just cant or shouldnt do that??? I was a Darnold backer and true to my word that has now changed. I have eliminated Darnold and have it a two horse race: Rosen & Mayfield one of these two will be the best choice for us to progress.

Here is my question on Darnold, and it may just be me not having seen enough of him.
When I watch him, I love him when the play breaks down, however, when he has a clean pocket, he never seems to stand tall in the pocket surveilling the field. He always seems to look jittery to me. Almost like he cannot wait for the pocket to break down so that he can play playground football that he is so good at and comfortable with.
Is this me or do others see it as well?

From what I understood Darnold was working on keeping the ball up and not dropping it, also keeping both hands on the ball, but didn’t read where he was working on the motion itself. Wether that’s actually the case I can’t truly say. But that’s how I read it. I
The only worry I have with that is why hasn't this happened before? I am sure he didn't just find out that some coaches feel he holds the ball to low.
It might be what it is and if we or whoever takes him will have to live with it. I don't know how long the guy has been throwing a football, but it looks like that is just the way he does it.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

Tab, why have you eliminated Darnold?
Regarding Rosen, I like him a lot, but honestly he is the least Browns player I have seen in a while...
Mayfield and Allen... I always have problems with "last minute" stars...in my eyes they are not on the same level has Rosen, or Darnold.

If we are talking about dropping a game here or there to skew the results that's one thing. The point made in the article is that his tape before a 4 game stretch, and his tape since all show a different player than what those 4 games show. It raises the question, what was different about those 4 games? If there is a reason for that difference and it is something that can be mitigated or eliminated, then it's reasonable to argue those games are less important.

He owns a catering business that caters to music artists on tour.
He has been with Joe Bonamassa for the last three years. Leaves tomorrow for Europe. This is the third European tour. Then they tour all around the states.
Don't know how much tape you watched or investigation you have done on Darnold.
This I will say: Darnold is good.
He is accurate in the pocket. Accurate outside the pocket. Accurate throwing while on the run. Accurate under pressure both in the pass rush and when a play is needed.
He throws guys open with great anticipation. He can extend plays keeping his eyes downfield. He can run when needed to gain key yards. He wins. He makes big plays when big plays need to be made.
There is not one negative quote from anyone within his direct circle. His teammates rave about him as a leader and competitor.
Maybe look a little closer then draw your own conclusions.

Then why did he look so terrible against Ohio State?
I've said this before, but on paper, Darnold looks like the best. Great leadership abilities, great desire to get better, good-to-great stats. But then when you watch him actually throw, you wonder why he's hyped so much. As someone else mentioned, he dances around the pocket with his feet like he's about to get hit, and then throws a pass like a soccer goalie. He kind of looks like an extra in a movie that was asked to stand in and be a quarterback. But then he still gets results.
Do me a favor, watch USC's OL vs. OSU's DL. The Ohio pass rush was at his mark almost before he was. Yes, he had some bad plays, but he also had some very nice throws in that game.
USC was no match for OSU, and Darnold wasn't the reason they lost.

Why is it that Lamar had a better passing year than Darnold, yet people give Darold all these excuses?
Lamar has less talent to work with than Darnold.
Lamar has a worse O line than Darnold.
Lamar played in a harder conference than Darnold.
Yet darnold mechanics can be fixed, but somehow Lamar’s can’t?
Somehow every QB can improve except Lamar. Somehow Mr 17 interceptions is more accurate than the guy with a better PASSING TD-INT ratio.
Makes no sense.

LOL. Hey now. I was an extra in a (very bad) movie and was asked to be on the basketball team. I ended up getting an assist to the lead actor!
So darnolds accuracy and mechanics can be fixed but Lamar’s can’t?
You call it senseless yet you and others refuse to actually answer the question.

Wait a minute.
If you push a boulder UP hill, wouldn't it roll back DOWN hill, hence rolling over you?
1. Cause I wish ti K.I.S.S. it and feel the best way is to eliminate them if I can to keep it sane.
2. Nothing is written in stone Darnold was my choice at #1 and now Ive eliminated it.
Rosen yeah I understand. He's a Calif. Boy n not middle country but so were Brady n Rogers so leople change.
Mayfield is not new for me. I heard about his accuracy and so started wafching all his games and I am very confident he can take us to the prkmjsed land.
Allen is new and he just left my "HECK NO" list tk the I trust Dorsey n Hue list.
Right now for me it Rosen or Mayfield.
