so the Eagles gave up a 5th rounder for Michael Bennett and a 7th rounder?
Honestly, we could have given up a 5th rounder for him?

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/seaha...in-trade-talks/Bennett is set to count almost $7.4 million against Seattle's salary cap next season. By trading or releasing him before June 1, the Seahawks would save roughly $2.2 million against the 2018 salary cap while incurring around $5.2 million in dead money charges. A trade or release would likely come before March 18, when Bennett is owed a $3 million roster bonus. Guess they really value the WR lol, or the 5th rounder perhaps haha. Nothing really makes sense. Not a numbers guy but that doesn't seem to jeopardize the organization financially?

Honestly, we could have given up a 5th rounder for him? The Eagles gave up WR Marcus Johnson and a 5th. The Seahawks sent a 7th and Bennett to the Eagles.

There were a bunch of teams in the running for Michael Bennett. New England, Cleveland, Tampa, and Falcons to just name a few. https://twitter.com/diannaESPN/status/971469901541072896Second whiff by us on a veteran pass rusher. I don't really care about the whiff, it's nice to know we are trying on these guys. I am more interested in the fact that the team is looking at veteran pass rushers.

Alec Ogletree - LB - Giants
Giants acquired ILB Alec Ogletree and a 2019 seventh-round pick from the Rams in exchange for 2018 fourth- and sixth-round picks.
The Rams just signed Ogletree to a four-year, $42 million extension in October but evidently didn't like his fit in DC Wade Phillips' 3-4 defense. L.A. was gashed by the run last season, and playing Ogletree and Mark Barron, a pair of converted safeties, at inside linebacker was a big reason for that. Both are extremely athletic, but they were too light and got pushed around by offensive linemen. The Rams recoup the fourth-rounder they sent to K.C. in the Marcus Peters deal with this move and clear a bunch of cash off the books for future long-term deals. Linebacker was a massive need for the Giants.

I really liked Ogletree when I've seen him ... but if Williams didn't vouch for him, I guess we didn't want him

Sherman's departure from Seahawks appears imminent Reuters Reuters 3 hours ago Reactions Like Reblog on Tumblr Share Tweet Email Cornerback Richard Sherman's departure from the Seattle Seahawks appeared imminent Wednesday following a series of posts on social media. The NFL Network reported that Sherman was scheduled to meet with coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider about his future. Sherman is entering the final year of his contract. Releasing him would save the team $11 million against the salary cap. Contacted by the Seattle Times, Sherman said he had no comment. The team said early in the day that it had nothing to announce, but Seahawks defenders Jeremy Lane and Kam Chancellor went online to post tributes to Sherman. Beverly Sherman also posted on Twitter, saying, "I am more than devastated to know that my son will no longer be a Seahawk." Sherman suffered the first significant injury of his career last season, tearing his right Achilles on Nov. 9 to end his season as well as a streak of 99 consecutive starts. Sherman had surgery to repair that injury and also underwent surgery on his left Achilles last month to treat bone spurs. -- Field Level Media https://www.yahoo.com/sports/shermans-departure-seahawks-appears-imminent-195953597--spt.html

Silver also believes the Seahawks are “open for business” on Earl Thomas if a trade offer overwhelms them.

I don't pay attention much to Richard and didn't know he had surgery, but I know achilles injuries can be a big negative impact to a corner. Maybe he's now like Haden when he was playing with a groin injury, and just not as good?

I think Bennett was traded because he is a freaking a-hole.
Man, I would love for us to get Earl Thomas, though. He's the best FS in football.

Earl is a free agent in 2019 right, so what sort of obnoxious things would you be willing to give up for a trade on a player with one year left on his contract? Granted, imo, he's the best free safety in the game right now.
Tough question...

well as we know he might be back to form 2019, 2018 will be a year for him to test the knee n move forward.
Dont want to spend too much time cause the thread is TRADES not FA.
Shrman we got the $$$ we got the good turf for his knee.
Trades. Dorsey will not over pay. This his first draft n he is cherishing every pick we got. I said it before dont expect anything from Dorsey in trading our picks...he is keeping them close to his vest!
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!

Jarvis Landry - WR - Dolphins
Dolphins signed franchised player Jarvis Landry to a one-year, $15.982 million contract.
Landry signing the tender means the Dolphins are no longer able to rescind the tag, which could be a concern with seemingly little movement in trade talks -- The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson tweeted a trade is "not imminent." The Dolphins are over the cap as it stands now, and while cutting guys like Lawrence Timmons and Julius Thomas will give them some room, it will not be enough to really be a player in free agency. Miami needs to find a trade partner for Landry.

Report: Browns, Ravens interested in acquiring Jarvis Landry The Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens are interested in a trade for Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry according to The Miami Herald.
However, a 'deal is not imminent.' Landry signed his franchise tag Thursday morning which allows him to be traded. He would make roughly $16 million under the salary cap in 2017 but he is seeking a long-term deal receiving roughly $14 million annually. Any team interested in acquiring the wide receiver would likely have to facilitate a long-term contract offer before Landry agrees to the deal.
The Dolphins would likely receive a third round compensatory selection in 2019 for losing Landry in free agency. Miami is attempting to receive as much or more for him a year earlier. A second, early third or multiple picks will likely get the deal done.
The 25-year old has accumulated 400 receptions for 4,038 yards and 22 touchdowns over his four seasons in the NFL, which averages out to an astonishing 100 receptions and more than 1,000 yards per season. The Louisiana native was a second round choice in the 2014 NFL Draft.

I’m not really big on Laundry, but what he could be is an outlet for whoever the QB ends up being. Kinda the same role he’s always had. Not gonna be the guy who beats you deep or rack up a ton of yards but will be there when a QB needs someone to be open, get you some completions and a few yards. I just don’t know if I’d want to pay a lot for that type of player. Feel he’d help but is the cost worth what he gives you.

According to the article DawgLB posted Laundry averaged 100 receptions for 1000 yards in each of his 4 NFL seasons. I'd call that more than "some completions and a few yards".

Wasn’t really knocking the guy, he’s just not a guy whose gonna get you big yardage, his average per catch is only 10.1 yards. With his highest being 12.1 and his lowest 8.8. Catches a lot of balls just not for a lot of yards. Those numbers, to me don’t equal the kind of money he wants. Said he would help.

so they want a 2nd rounder this year? Not 33... MAYBE pick 64 or whatever our last one in hte second round is. That is if that's what they're wanting. Not even sure I'm fully game if it was pick 64 if I'd want to pull the trigger...

The @MiamiDolphins offered Jarvis Landry a little north of $13M/year in early December.
His agent failed to accurately gauge market & likely recommended that Jarvis decline the offer.
Other teams are looking at $10M/year.
He can earn $16M this year, but long-term? We'll see. https://twitter.com/PhinsiderRadio/status/971805107410087936

So the #Rams are trading away two unideal scheme fits in Alec Ogletree and Robert Quinn, and bringing in two top man corners in Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib. Wade Phillips written all over it. https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/status/971913770154029057

This has been an active start to the season so far... I figured when the talks of Aqib started few days ago, he'd end up in NE somehow.
LA secondary got a big lift.

LA secondary got a big lift. The Rams defense is going to be scary good with Talib and Marcus Peters along with Aaron Donald.
