Browns strike again.

This time, Cleveland agrees to trade a mid-round draft pick to Buffalo for QB Tyrod Taylor, source tells ESPN.

Taylor now will throw to new Browns’ WR Jarvis Landry.

And Buffalo back in QB market.

More on SportsCenter now.

Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Kill the A.J. McCarron and Kirk Cousins threads!

Tyrod Taylor is perfect.

(I know many will hate this.)

Taylor can play winning football until the rookie is ready and won't break the bank.

I saw that Buffalo Jacksonville playoff game...I don't want TT. As a bridge QB he's still suspect.

17/37 134 yards and an INT

No thanks.

Uh, so what did Miami get for Landry? It was supposed to be a 2018 3rd rounder.

Not drafting a QB with the first pick because we got Tyrod Taylor would be the most Browns thing ever.

I wouldn't have traded a 6th for TT. This makes my head hurt. We already have a QB that could go 17 for 37 with an interception.

Taylor not my favorite but sure beats some of the bums they had us linked to.
With all the picks we have a 3rd rounder probably wasn't gonna make the team anyways so this is basically free.

If he starts out hot and wins a bunch, great, we keep him in and start rookie next year.

If he loses, rookie goes in.

I'm OK with this, still high on the Landry trade so I'm trusting the FO a bit.

Just a question. It would seem to make sense to have similar style qbs at starter and backup. The thought would be that the offense would not change much if the starter goes down. Does this move give any indication whom we might draft?

J/C

At the very least, this is giving up a 3rd round selection to establish some continuity for the long-term. Taylor can be a competent starting quarterback and help the Browns tally up some wins. Either Kizer (I think the Browns FO likes him more than the fans) or a rookie can actually develop behind the scenes.

This move can help keep everyone in place without risking a blow up. It isn't the kind of move that makes the Browns a legitimate contender, but it offers some stability and a good chance to win a handful of games.

I'm not to familiar with Taylor. I know he's had some good games. Calling him Kizer, I think would be a stretch.

Is he accurate?

Not the man I wanted either. Some seem to love him, but I am not one of them. Just not feeling this trade at all. I was hoping for line at 65.

I only like this pick over AJ if TT's wife is better looking than K. Webb.

Seriously? I like taylor.

Looks like Dorsey isn't buying in to Hue. Hue wanted McCarron. I doubt we go there now.

Things are looking up!

Agreed. Incredibly odd. This is the guy we want? Even as a bridge? Kind of throw your hands up and be done with it? I could not tell you his overwhelming strength that recommended him.

Curiouser and curiouser. Trust me.

Well he did get twice as many wins last season than the Browns have had in 3 years total. So he's got that going for him.

No. Tyrod is not a run first QB. He runs when he has too. Don't look too much into his athletic ability.. thats just an added benefit.
