I was thinking that too. Then Lamar Jackson at #33? Lamar or Mason .. maybe even Lauletta or White later in the round. No one has mentioned that Hogan was extended as an exclusive rights FA.
The Cleveland Browns - WE KNOW QUARTERBACKS ( Look at how many we've had ... )

I'm not buying it. Maybe if we extend his contract. Otherwise, I expect us to draft a QB at 1

We better draft a QB at #1 he was brought here with a mandate to find our franchise QB, I'm ok with Tyrod but he is not our franchise QB !!!

Don't kid yourself.
Haslam has watched us pass over quarterbacks and I am sure the results have not made him happy.
Dorsey was hired to number One get the quarterback. Number two upgrade the talent and number three get some wins.
There is no way we don't draft a quarterback at one.

There is no way we don't draft a quarterback at one. Yeah, I dont see Tyrod Taylor as an Alex Smith. Alex Smith brought the 49ers to an NFC championship against the Giants that was fantastic (or was it the Super Bowl vs the Ravens). I don't think they're at the same level. Doesn't mean that Taylor is bad, I just think Smith is a level above. That press conference does make me think we're leaning toward Darnold or Allen though. The way they kept emphasizing that Taylor would be the starter and the QB sitting the first season makes me think that it wouldn't be Rosen or Mayfield (whom I think would be ready to start (Rosen) or wouldn't go over well knowing that he didn't even have a chance (Mayfield)). But we have an opportunity to draft a QB at 1, there's legit candidates. We clearly don't plan on drafting at the top of the draft again and QBs will be in high demand as the older guys retire for the foreseeable future (Rivers, Brees Manning, Big Ben, Brady) EDIT: I'm just just talking about Alex Smith because that was Dorsey's team before us and he had the number 1 pick and instead traded to get Alex Smith, who he used as his QB for awhile. I don't think this will be the same case.

I was indicating to Petey that Kapernick led SF to the SB against the Ravens, not Smith.

WTF ... how many DE’s we gonna play? ... Seriously .. only 2 of those guys can play on run downs ... i don’t get it ... I understand how valuable rush ends are ... we have 1 that has the potential to be as good as any in the game .. and ogbah is a hell of a DE and not a bad pass rusher ... Taking Chubb at 4 makes NO SENSE TO ME ... Someone care to tell me what we do with the 3 OF THEM ON 1ST AND 2ND DOWNS AND 3RD AND SHORT!!!!!

Lol I don't care WHAT Williams would do with Ogbah. Chubb opposite Garrett would be devestating. That's a 3 man rotation teams would DROOL over. We go Chubb, Ogbah, Brantley, Garrett on passing downs. Stop THAT! We've NEVER had anything that teams needed to game plan against. We would with that. CHUBB can be 10 times what Ogbah is.

Dorsey did draft Dee Ford while already having Hali and Houston. So there is precedent there.

When Dorsey was hired I don't think his mission could have been more clear.
Find the quarterback solution.
Saying Taylor is the solution in March is about as permanent as saying Kessler is our starter in May.
In this draft with their choice of a good class of quarterbacks?
The conclusion is very obvious.
We are taking a quarterback at One.

Is that kind of like a Stop And Go or 7/11?
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

We all ready have things teams need to game plan against ...
Chubbs OVERKILL ... we have positions with MUCH GREATER NEED like CB and Safety ...
How’d KC’s D do while Dorsey was there .. wonder if he wishes he took a STUD DB as opposed to his 3rd PASS RUSHER ...
Sorry bro .. u don’t draft a guy that would be SITUATIONAL on your team when u have GLARING NEEDS ELSEWHERE ...
Sorry ... that’s JUST STUPID ...
So far .... COLOR ME UNIMPRESSED with this group ... i am EXTREMELY BLAH over their moves so far ... and if they take Chubb at 4 ... or Quan for that matter ... i’ll be even more UNIMPRESSED ...

Randall is going to be moved to FS and Peppers will play SS.
Ogbah can be moved around.
You can never have enough good players.
We are in such a good position at one and four it is almost liked the deck has been stacked.
Sorry D. I am totally on Board with what has been done.

If another team called today and said they wanted to trade for the fourth pick, how much value is there in doing the trade early and knowing where you are picking versus making the trade on the day of the draft? Being able to plan knowing what picks you will have on the day of the draft seems like a huge advantage.

Hypothetical because we can't control it.
The Jets moved to jump the Bills.
The Broncos with Keenum are not forced to go QB. Although they could depending on who is there.
Rudolph becomes very attractive.
The Browns have the ace card. Leverage it.
But do not pass on great talent. Right now my guess is Rosen goes to the Giants.
We take either Barkley or Chubb. Not a bad choice.

U better off not guessing ... NOT EVEN CLOSE ... i dont have a snit like some on here do when they don’t get their way .. And i see NOTHING in the moves we made that will stop us from taking Fitz ... i dont see trading for a guy that has not played safety in 3 years is some huge acquisition that makes Fitz any less likely to be picked ... Crap ... Fitz has as much NFL experience at FS as dude we traded for does ... .. BONE i’ll Shoot u a PM when i get a few .. i dont feel like defending myself to the dolts at this point ...

Being able to plan knowing what picks you will have on the day of the draft seems like a huge advantage. It does, but I think everyone would rather play "wait and see" after the Jets move. The second they announce their pick - our phones will ring off the hook for the next 9 minutes lol. There has to be plenty of dialog beforehand, if they make an incredible offer - fine. If not, they're all held hostage to our decision on draft day... and we'll have 9 minutes to make it lol. Gonna be exciting!
