I disagree. He was beat out by Kaep. But Harbaugh was very high on Kaep. Smith was a better QB than Tyrod. And Smith is in the league now, and Kaep isn't. Harbaugh is a funny guy that way though. I can go out and push the stats on you, or you can look them up yourself.

His big playoff season with the 49ers, he took the Giants to the edge in the NFC championship. The same Giants that won the Super Bowl vs the Pats.

We traded a 3rd round pick for Tyrod. The Chiefs traded a 2nd round pick for Alex Smith (and I was frustrated we didn't make a good offer for him at the time myself).

Just watching the two, Alex Smith, when he went to the Chiefs, was a superior player to Tyrod Taylor. There's a reason the Bills have wanted to drop Tyrod for awhile now.

Doesn't mean Tyrod isn't better than anything we have had in awhile though. Don't get me wrong, I like Tyrod Taylor. But let's not set up unrealistic expectations for the guy.

It is also 2013 and 2018. Smith was age 28 in 2013 and Tyrod aged 28 in 2018. Different players available. He didn't sign Chase Daniel as a backup to Tyrod Taylor either, but he did resign Hogan, a former Chief draft pick who was drafted by Dorsey, to an ERFA contract. I'm not saying he won't use a top pick on a QB. I'm just saying do not be surprised if he uses his top picks on position players.

Honestly I think, in the short term, (one season) I think noticeably worse than last year:

meaning the possibility of same record but being "in" less games,

is just as likely, if not more probable than "playoffs'

assuming playoffs still require better than 8-8 and competing in the AFC North division.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

NFL Power Rankings: Vikings, Rams rising via free agency/trades0

makeover, accounts for this placeholder not too far from the bottom.

RANK 31

BROWNS

The Browns haven't crept out of the cellar since the early days of the 2017 season. They pulled it off here thanks to a string of personnel maneuvers over the last couple of weeks. Cleveland acquired Tyrod Taylor and Jarvis Landry via trade, while signing contributors like CB T.J. Carrie, OL Chris Hubbard, DE Chris Smith and the most notable, RB Carlos Hyde. They're not done. Terrelle Pryor is still out there. A reunion could be in the works. Oh, and then there's the pile of high draft picks they're sitting on, including the first, fourth, 33rd, 35th and 64th overall selections. Those are all in the first two rounds. Look out.

8 years in Buffalo and 5 years in Cleveland .. not sure you can count DeLamielleure as a Brown in the HOF. I'm pretty sure he went into the HOF as a Buffalo Bill.

Good point, and we let him go back to Buffalo as well.

Did Len Ford play on the offensive line too? I thought he just played defense.

I should have thought of McCormack.
