My favorite part of the article is how they refer to them as armed guards in the title, when they're really just capitol policemen. Then they got mad that they weren't special policemen.

So now we are site shaming? I did pick up the story on FaceBook so I gather most people can see it. FYI I am not a member of the site. I should have used the Daily Caller for a link, however, I have a feeling the same BS would have ensued because of the socialist being labeled a hypocrite.

I do appreciate the website you provided though, now I can check the DailyKos, Think Progress and The Young Turks to see how far left they tend to lean.

Bullying causes most of these shootings, not guns. Heres a question, lets take the parkland shooting. If we banned guns, would he have other means to have created the destruction (a bomb, car, etc)? Now, if we took away the bullying, would this kid have snapped like he did? Sadly we will never know.

Also, I find it ironic that these protests are because "the kids do not feel safe in school and afraid of getting shot". So they are leaving a building that provides some sort of cover, the stand out in an open parking lot as visible as you can be. . . . Makes sense. This is why we need new teachers.

Maybe if these kids were taught that bullying is a form of torment, they wouldn't have to worry. That's the problem with the left, they always look for an excuse to not take the blame of whats really happening, and project it on someone/something else (in this case guns)

This is true, a very smart freshman at my daughters high school was bullied to the point of suicide and he’s no longer with us.

I am sorry to hear that. I went to a school where the bullying was pretty bad. We were a Middle class school district, but the kids thought they were higher class. There were two bothers about a year apart that were mixed race that it got it bad. The "richer" kids picked on them for being poor, and the black kids picked on them for "being white". Sadly, they both took their lives Senior year, about a week apart from each other. I still to this day, do not know how their parents have been able to go on. And the schools do nothing to help, in fact they actually promote unknowingly (I tend tot think they know exactly what they are doing).

Ill give you an example, my niece's school was in the national news maybe a year or two ago. They had a "bullying" workshop. They gathered all the kids together and put them in a circle. They made them put on mask, then asked questions and if you answered yes you had to step forward. MIND you these are 12-13 year old kids in middle school. All they did was single out the kids to the bullies. That, and try to push a political agenda. The questions:

1. Is any of your family members in jail?
2. Is anybody gay?
3. Are you gay?
4. Do you feel bisexual?
5. Do you have financial issues at home?
6. Do your parents ever worry about providing you with the essentials?

I support their decision and I support the rights of the schools to punish them for their decisions.

"Bullying" will never go away.

Thinking it will is like thinking that a day will come when we no longer need prisons or jails or police or rules.

Here is my beef.

This is a "protest" FOR the approved government opinion, the schools are sanctioning it, so it's a government approved walk out, so it's not really a walk out. So it's a government approved opinion, in a government approved venue to express the opinion that the government should take away peoples rights.

So let's see, students are marching with the sanction of the state to demand less freedom from the state and somehow this is brave??? It's literally a 1984 style right think protest.

The constitution doesn't have only one amendment. While you stand strong for the second amendment, you don't seem to give a damn about these kids first amendment rights and wish to degrade and blame everyone when they exercise those rights.

They'll be voting soon enough and the way your side is attacking their views and rights to express them won't bode well for you.

I love how the sick progressives tapped into the emotions of the left indoctrinated children for their political gain just like the last administrations mantra "Don't ever waste a good crisis" even tho they have just as much responsabilty for the crisis.....SMFH

Don't listen or watch if you disagree with the student protests on gun control. Just ignore them as usual. They are fine with that. They all know the GOP love affair with the NRA is on notice now. They will be legal registered voters very soon. They will be heard every November. So just sit back and snuggle in with your AR on the couch and wait for it.

No. It shows I don't have the time to read everything on the board. I figure we have armed guads at banks, malls, courts, stadiums, and any other large gathering spot of people. Why not schools? It should be obvious by now that 'gun free zones' only deter the honest.

Look, I disagree with what these kids are asking for. They're kids.

But I certainly agree with making schools safer. Arming teachers does nothing to prevent the shootings. They can only react AFTER shots are being fired. Armed guards and metal detectors at the entrances help stop guns from getting into the schools in the first place.

But I don't plan to try to take away from these kids message based on who is standing beside them. That's playing politics instead of addressing what it's going to take to make our schools safer.

Believe what you want but if disagreeing with the far left makes me far right that's fine.....but I would like to try to be rational.
First off I disagree with bump stocks, 30 round clips , assault rifles.
I agree with age limits to purchase weapons, mental health and criminal background issues less probable cause to investigate these matters of any type of threat that relates to this issue. but I really think that with the last incident when a crazy that may fall through the cracks it is essential that trained armed guards need to be in place in schools until we get this whole thing sorted out.
I don't claim to have all or any of the answers but something needs to be put in place to protect the innocent kids till then. PEACE

Exactly how did I even imply that? I asked how you would feel if your kids were protesting for armed guards, and you said you supported that. I said nothing more about it. I told you I didn't have time to read every post on the board.

I then made the point that we have armed guards everywhere else, so why not at schools? I said nothing about you supporting armed guards or not. Please stop reading things into my statements.

Maybe if the kids were taught why we have the 2nd amendment, they would be opposed to the democratic push. Unfortunately, the dems have taken over most of the education system at this time, and I'm sure they don't get that information from their history classes.

Very few kids die to mass shootings compared knives or drugs. It's literally the least likely way they will die at school. Kids who kill themselves due to bullying is in the thousands and they don't care at all. Kids getting stabbed in the thousands and they don't care at all. Kids getting killed from od on drug use is in the thousands and they don't care at all.

A few hundred die from guns and all of a sudden everyone is upset. Why? Because mainly liberal teachers and constantly pushing the idea that guns are evil and they should all be taken away to kids from a very young age all the way through college. It's flat out brainwashing. Liberals don't want citizens to own guns because then they can use their big government to control them.

Mass shootings at schools is by far the smallest problem schools needs to worry about.
