Let me just say: I am never against adding super talented pass rushers.
I don't know much about Chubb. Have not scouted him.
But if he is as good as most believe and his ranked higher than Fitzpatrick on their Board then I have no problem drafting him at four.

I agree. There are other good FS in the draft. Some might say Derwin James is better.

He’s not the athlete Garrett was/is but posibly better with technique, especially hand usage. No problem pairing him with Garrett and Ogbah, with the rest supplying great depth or even trade value.

Vea is just as good a prospect at DT and would be great next to Danny Shelton. It's not as sexy as a DE but when you have to great DTs side by side it's very hard to double up on the edges which would make Garrett an even greater destructive force. If we were to draft vea and Chubb we would have an unstoppable D-Line that is for sure.
Garrett, Shelton, Vea, Chubb ... my god that would be the best D-line in all of the NFL.
Something to seriously consider if they trade back from #1.

I agree, but there's almost no way he gets past the Colts. If he does and we have him graded as best DE this year, grab him. You just can't have enough elite pass rushers. Just ask any Giants fan about their 2 Super Bowl wins.

i agree ... it should go Barkley, QB, and Chubb ... in some order 1-3
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Derwin James' play digressed after his injury. I don't think he is better than Fitz. LOL

Dont forget the expected growth of Garrett,Larry n Caleb.
There are so many scenarios of good things we can do. We got the good youth coming back and this draft is deep with talent a lot of good scenarios...what to do, what to do?
Follow the parity breakers (According to eotab): 1. QBs 2. LTs 3. Edge rushers 4. Cover corners. Parity Breakers according to Dorsey: 1. QBs 2. Cover Corners. 3. LTs 4. Edge Rushers. 5. WRs
When in doubt we will follow Dorsey's parity breakers. jmho

Derwin James' play digressed after his injury. I don't think he is better than Fitz. LOL Didn't think you did. I was referring to something Mayock said. It was an offhand remark but I can see his point. The kid has good size, hits like a truck and has instincts for the ball. The question mark is speed. I'll be interested in his 40 time tomorrow.

Drafting Bradley Chubb makes a lot of sense. A team can have enough edge defenders (as evidenced by our defense taking a nosedive when Emmanuel Ogbah went out). Also, Myles Garrett and Ogbah both have the physical ability to play "inside" on passing down. I would definitely take Chubb over Saquon Barkley and maybe even before Minkah Fitzpatrick.

I agree. If he is somehow there at 4, I take him over anybody else on the board unless we haven't drafted a QB to that point.

he definitely joins the short list of Fitzpatrick, Barkley and now Chubb.
If there at #4 I run up there to hand in the card for Barkley.

In my book a pass rusher is always in the conversation as BPA. I've always figured that you when thinking about BPA you have to consider your own team personnel also. Is the BPA in the draft also the BPA on your roster? Team start 2 pass rushers. Garrett has one spot locked down. Ogbah holds the other spot. Is Chubb better then Ogbah? I think so. And even if you wanted to use Chubb as situational pass rusher that only would still give him enough snaps/pass rush opportunities for it to be worth it.
IIRC Miller started out as situational pass rusher so did that crazy dude that played for the 49ers. At worst Ogbah plays situationally on passing downs as a 3-tech/DT.
If Chubb is there at 4 they have to consider it because it makes the team better.

I have come full circle from Fitzpatrick... After everything I've seen so far, I'm going to be very happy if we draft Bradley Chubb @ 4. Our defense could be very very good. I hope if we draft him at 4, that we also take the other Chubb at RB... Nothing better than 2 Chubbs!

NEED is not a variable in this draft. We will go with Talent and Football Players. Whether its a RB or DE or DB...the kid is going to have overall #4 talent. I'm happy with whoever we take!

Right now with the fourth pick I think it comes down to Chubb and Barkley (If both make it there).
I have said from the beginning I believe QB's go 1,2,3.
What a choice Barkley and Chubb.
Damn. I will be thrilled.
Love both guys. Just the thought of Chubb and Garrett.
Let alone Barkley and what he can bring to the offense.
So excited with the direction of the team. I see good things ahead.

He certainly is in the mix.
However, my thought is Dorsey will take Chubb.
I am just guessing that he will get a running back later with the addition of Carlos.
And with Randall moving to FS with Peppers at SS; I don't see him going safety there.
You have to view Chubb and Barkley as BPA. One on offense the other defense.
I saw some of Chubb lately and man he looks quick with great balance.
Vers. The fourth pick is gold we can't miss.
And really I am feeling confident numero uno will be either Rosen or Darnold.
So I am liking the first round.

Thanks for the explanation, bro.
Here is a twist to make you think. I know there have been reports about Randall playing FS, but considering our corners suck and we have Myles and Ogbah on the outside, would we not be better off w/drafting Fitz and playing him or Randall at FS and other at cb instead of having 3 edge rushers?
I don't know the answer, bro. Just trying to think about it. And you are one guy I trust to actually give an honest answer.

Ogbah is coming off an injury.
Last year Garrett was hurt some. A rotation with those three can only be a good thing.
I am kinda old school in that I don't believe in not taking great pass rushers. Great big men are always good to have.
Fitz would be a great add. Especially if they believed him to be a corner. But I think with the way they got Randall; they want him at FS.
A corner could be in play.
But in the end hard to not take Chubb or Barkley.

Agree but would add in that I think Ogbah can move inside on passing downs and create a pretty lethal rush.
For years the Steelers had an average at best defensive backfield outside of Polamalu but no one noticed because they had such a fierce pass rush. Teams couldn't take advantage of the coverage liabilities.
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no

Really comes down to O or D.
Hope Haley really puts in his Opinion on this one.
Williams has that ego to give in thinking O needs all the help it can get.
I agree that if we go D it will be Chubb...the thought of moving having Ogbah play DE and then have Chubb come in on passing downs, moving Ogbah inside along with Larry!
This will make all our CBs and Safeties into Superstars!
Also I think if we pick Fitz...we will utilize him as a starting CB not Safety. Possibly in his later years of his career he can move to Safety like some CBs before him.
