Maybe not, but who cares? If you have a chance at a pro-bowl player, you take him unless you are stupid.

however, is it out of the realm that the bills and giants trade with each other, and the giants pick a guy like mason rudolph at 12? I think Rudolph and Lamar will get taken higher than people expect.

maybe, but with the giants liking traditional dropback QB's, i could see a situation where the giants look to trade back and get more picks.
especially since every QB is a project, there is no sure thing this draft. Mason rudolph sitting behind eli manning is an almost perfect situation.

As for what the Giants are going to do, heck, I follow the Browns every day and don't have a clue what we are going to do yet alone know what a NYC team is going to do.

If I'm NY I take Rosen or Darnold and be done with it

They’re drafting #2 and they benched their 2 time Super Bowl winning qb. Chances are pretty good the writing in on the wall for Eli’s career. To waste the opportunity they have to replace him would be criminal.

When talking about what the giants do at two....you have to consider their division....are they close to competing with the Eagles or Cowboys for a division title next year or the year after??? I say no...that means you use the next 2 drafts to reload...which says QB at #2 or trade back for more picks and a QB in the middle of the First....which path???? I don’t know...but a QB will be taken at #2 one way or another.

I see the Giants taking either Rosen (assuming we don't) or Chubb. They are the head scratcher in the top 3. Eli is solid but isn't consistent and they need to think beyond him. This is as deep a QB class as there may ever be and they are in perfect position to get Eli's successor.
However, I have seen a couple recent mocks that have the Jets taking Chubb. I just don't see it. No way they moved up to 3 to take a DE, especially when they desperately need a QB (Bridgewater is a huge question mark...how will he play, will he be the same, will he get injured again?). Also, they seem to be in win now mode with their recent transactions so, as with the Giants...this is their chance to get their franchise guy.

The Giants roster isn't good, but it's good enough to possibly not be in this position again for a while. I'd take a QB if I were a secure GM.
Insecure GM's do things like take Saquon Barkely.

If you are a good GM, you take the best player available. That would be Barkley.
Giants were a playoff team in 2016 and were bad last year due to injuries, bad OL, and horrible head coaching. OL will be better, head coach changed, and injured healed.
They are playing to win next year, not 2-3 years down the road and I think they like Webb more than people on this board want to admit.

His Oline sucked. I would take him in a second. He is no where near washed up.

Even with the addition of Solder and Omameh I still think they need to think about his successor and this could be the perfect time to get one. But, Chubb and Barkley are also going to be there (or do they trade down w/Bills or even the Pats?), that's why their pick at 2 is a big puzzle.

I see the top 3 picks going QB/Barkley/QB. That would put one of the top 3 QBs available at 4. We have 9 picks and I don't believe we need 9 more players. I would rather have 6 picks all in the first 3 rounds. Everything after the 2nd round should be fodder for moves up. I'm not crazy about trading down from 4, but if it's only to 5/6, and it gives us more ammo to use other picks to move up, I'm on board. I like the first pick of day 2, so I want to keep #33. But moving up from #35 back into the 1st would be great, as would moving up from #64 to higher in the 2nd. Finally, I'd trade everything after the 3rd to get back into the 3rd. So if I'm trading down from #4, my goal is to gain ammo to move up later. Of course a future pick or two isn't bad either.

If you're interested in a small, friendly wager, PM me.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Yep, Tough choice when u have a QB that has in the past, proven to be more than good enough to win. And not just a place holder while u look for the next guy. That No.2 Pick should be a huge talent on the field game one and taking a QB there probably means your passing on a more sure thing that makes a huge impact right away.

Yes we do We added 14 players in 2016 and 12 more in 2017. Those players (still on the team) should continue to improve. We don't need to keep adding numbers, we need to add quality.

I'm not yet convinced that we won't take Allen and then pick Barkley at 4.

In the spirit of this thread: what are the Jets going to do?
Let's say that the Browns take Darnold at 1 and the Giants take Rosen at 2. This seems like the most likely scenario.
Do the Jets take Allen or Mayfield? Do they have another trick up their sleeve (or maybe miscalculated how the top of the draft would go)?

Insecure GM's do things like take Saquon Barkely. 1st year GMs picking #2 in a QB top heavy draft, especially when they just hired a head coach whose strength is supposed to be developing a younger QB, draft a QB. Someone else mentioned the Jets possibly taking Chubb at 3. Giving up all they did to trade up for anything but a QB would be a move that gets a GM fired. I think that Chubb might be the 2nd best player in the draft ..... but when you need a QB, and are in position to take a QB, you draft a QB.

IMO, if the Giants pick at 2, they're taking a QB. Otherwise, they'll trade down and whoever they trade the pick to will take a QB. As opposed to some teams, the Giants aren't used to picking this early. With that in mind, I think they know that Eli is nearing the end of his career and will take advantage of this rare (for them) opportunity to select their next franchise QB.

Report: New York Giants will draft Sam Darnold if 'he is there' The New York Giants are reportedly very interested in drafting Sam Darnold. Dan Schneier - 2 hours ago Sam Darnold may be at the very top of the New York Giants draft board, at least according to one NFL talent evaluator. The Giants own the No. 2 overall pick, and according to one NFL talent evaluator who spoke anonymously to NJ Advance Media, the decision could largely depend on what the Cleveland Browns do with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. "If [Sam] Darnold is available, they're taking Darnold," an NFL talent evaluator said, via NJ Advance Media. "They don't like [Josh] Rosen." Of course, it's very important to take this report with a grain of salt. In the months leading up the draft, anonymous talent evaluators by the dozen will often choose to leak misinformation with an agenda in mind. This strategy only intensifies in the weeks leading up to the draft. The goal of misinformation is to sway public opinion on a player (or players) and to potentially reshape how certain NFL teams project the draft to fall. In addition to possible misinformation, it's also important to note general manager Dave Gettleman made it clear at the NFL owners meetings the Giants have not decided on their draft board (at least at that time). Gettleman added the board likely won't be finalized until just hours before the draft. Gettleman plans to sit himself down and grind game tape for the three weeks leading up to the draft. While Gettleman may not have a chance to watch the game tape he would prefer on Day 2 and 3 prospects, he could likely end up with a conviction on who the Giants will select at No. 2 overall after his game tape analysis. According to the same evaluator who seems certain where the Giants stand on Darnold and Rosen, he also claims to have access to the Giants draft board, No. 1 through No. 3 players overall. "Their top three choices are Darnold, Saquon Barkley, and Bradley Chubb," the same executive said. "They are debating Barkley vs. Chubb, because they need an edge rusher but the scouts love Barkley." The Giants used free agency to set themselves up for a best player available approach in the Draft, and we're now down to just a few weeks before the big weekend, take a second to sign up for our FREE Giants newsletter! According to MMQB's Peter King, a close friend of Browns general manager John Dorsey has revealed to him the team's plan to select Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen at No. 1 overall. If this scenario plays out, the Giants will have their choice of any of their top three prospects overall, at least according to this anonymous talent evaluator.

In the car last night I had on ESPN radio and someone was giving his thoughts on the QBs in this draft. Did not catch his name but he gave himself props for being pretty good at evaluating QBs in the draft in previous years. The other guy on the show then went on to say that if Aaron Rodgers would have ended up in NE instead of Brady then NE does not win 5 super bowls and Rodgers could have easily washed out of the league early because he is too sensitive to be coached by Bilichek. But I digress. This QB guru had Darnold as the #5 QB in the draft. But still worthy of a first round pick, just maybe around #20. He has it Allen, Rosen, Mayfield, Jackson and Darnold. Yes, he has Allen at #1 when the Western Athletic Conference has him at #3. The other guy brought up Osweiler's evaluation of not reading the defense, inaccurate, freezing in the face of a blitzer, locking on receivers, and the guru just waved them all off as pretty much no big deal or not true.
