1. it was $$$ Cowboys didn't wish to spend 17 mil of cap space on him and then have to sign him in the near future.
2. Bryant and DAK did not get along. Bryant would work hard, make a DB break an ankle get open and then DAK would throw a duck. DAK is a WCO through and through.
3. He needs a Franchise QB, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Wentz.
I'm curious where he ends up. I doubt it will be here. He still has game. But Dak was using him as a throw the ball up and go get it. He is more of throw the ball accurately to the right spot get it at the pinnacle and he will go get it.
jmho and regurgitating what my son has observed.

It's not the first time an Escobar made waves in Miami...
Seahawks planning to cut their 2017 2nd round pick, Malik McDowell, DT, Michigan St. Got hurt in an ATV accident last year and never played a down for them. I remember thinking he'd be a good pick for us in the run-up to last years draft.
McDowell, taken 35th overall in last year's draft, was expected to bolster the Seahawks' defensive line in the years to come. At Michigan State for three seasons, McDowell racked up 7.5 sacks, 24.5 tackles for a loss, an interception, two forced fumbles, and 50 solo tackles.
Entering the NFL Draft, McDowell was projected to be a first-round pick and NFL.com's Lance Zierlein compared him to Lions Pro Bowl pass rusher Ezekiel Ansah.
But before his first NFL training camp, McDowell was injured in a vehicular accident. NFL Network's Mike Garofolo reported at the time that McDowell got hurt riding an ATV, and suffered a concussion and injuries to his face. He missed the entire 2017 season and according to Rapoport, he still hasn't been cleared to play. At the time of the crash, McDowell said that his injury "is not life or career threatening as some have speculated" and that "you will see me back on the field in the near future." Hopefully, regardless of where he lands, McDowell can eventually experience a complete recovery.

hope the kid had Insurance! not the vehicle insurance but the insurance some of these guys take out on themselves just in case something like this happens.

Here's his NFL.com scouting report after the 2017 Combine
Malik McDowell, DT, Michigan St
6'6" 295 / 4.85 40 yd dash / 23 bench press
Strengths Slippery and long. Combination of arm length and flexible torso allow him to slither into gaps and create disruptions for blockers. Freaky combination of size and athleticism. Can overwhelm blockers with pure strength and explosiveness when his feet are right. Strong enough in lower half to play through contact and cause stress in the pocket. Has tremendous amount of untapped potential waiting to be unlocked. Quick, strong hands in pass rush. Able to attack the edge with club-and-swim pet move. Can crank up a pocket-caving bull rush. Can redirect his weight and maintain pursuit of scrambling mobile quarterbacks. Long frame and play speed can close out perimeter runs and foil them before corner is turned. Elite playmaking radius. Explosive lateral movement and quickness. Can bound from one gap to the next in Sparty's slanting defensive front. Will be extremely difficult to cross face as he learns the position. Has experience up and down the defensive line.
Weaknesses Footwork and technique are a mess. Plays with inconsistent base width and overall balance. Struggles to keep feet clean and ends up on the ground. Lines up in narrow, three-point stance from interior and struggles to fight back against down blocks and double teams. Can be washed out of his gap too often. High center of gravity made interior work a challenge at times. Can bend, but lets high pad level get the best of him. Doesn't consistently utilize his length with first hands. Has to become better at controlling the point of attack with his natural attributes. Needs to punch and control rather than leaning on blockers. Production doesn't match up with the traits and the talent. Scouts concerned about work ethic and leadership.
Draft Projection Round 1
Sources Tell Us "He has a chance to be a dominant player in our league. I mean dominant. It hasn't turned on for him all the way yet but if it does, he could be like Mario Williams. He's just a little lazy and I worry about whether he is going to be a self-starter." -- NFC North area scout
NFL Comparison Ezekiel Ansah
Bottom Line Has similar physical traits and abilities of Arik Armstead and DeForest Buckner, but may not share their football character. McDowell lacked production along the interior and could benefit from a move to a defensive end spot in a 4-3 or 3-4 front. McDowell is raw, but when he flashes, it can be blinding. McDowell is an explosive, ascending prospect with All-Pro potential if he grows into his body and takes the necessary coaching.
I'll never understand why these kids do dumb stuff like motorcycle tricks or ATV. If I were drafted and about to make my NFL debut I'd workout, practice, go home and sleep. Maybe I'd risk a hike at most.
After a successful season or two get riskier in the off season and then a team is more likely to stick by you during injury.
The Cleveland Browns announced that they have terminated the contract of cornerback Corey White and waived defensive back Reggie Porter.
White was the lone player to not arrive for the start of off-season activities this week. He had been signed to a reserve/futures deal on Jan. 11.
"White, 5-11, 205 pounds, has seen action in 66 games (24 starts) over five NFL seasons. Originally a fifth-round (162nd overall) selection by the Saints in the 2012 NFL Draft, he’s compiled 151 tackles, 22 passes defensed, six interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He’s also started both career postseason contests he’s appeared in, tallying eight tackles. The Samford product has been active with the Buffalo Bills (2016), Arizona Cardinals (2015), Dallas Cowboys (2015) and Saints (2012-14). White is from Dunwoody, Ga.," per the team release. FIVE-FOR-ONE SPECIAL!
Porter failed a physical. He was initially signed to the active roster on Sep. 20, 2017. He appeared in only three games before suffering an achilles injury in practice.
"Porter is a 5-11, 185 pound rookie out of Utah. Originally signed by Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent, Porter spent the first two weeks of the season on Baltimore’s practice squad. He recorded 16 pass break-ups and two interceptions in 36 collegiate games. He is a native of Amite, La."
General Manager John Dorsey continues the turnover of the roster.
The franchise recently terminated the contracts of running back Kelvin Taylor, wide receiver Bug Howard, tight end Gavin Escobar, wide receiver Larry Pinkard, defensive back CJ Smith, linebacker Max Bullough and tight end Matt Lengel.
The team signed defensive end Chris Smith, wide receiver Jeff Janis, quarterback Drew Stanton, cornerback TJ Carrie, cornerback Terrance Mitchell, cornerback EJ Gaines, tight end Darren Fells, running back Carlos Hyde, offensive tackle Chris Hubbard and offensive tackle Donald Stephenson this off-season. Dorsey also traded for wide receiver Jarvis Landry, quarterback Tyrod Taylor and free safety Damarious Randall this off-season. They have also traded away quarterbacks DeShone Kizer, Cody Kessler and Kevin Hoganto the Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Washington Redskins respectively. They also sent cornerback Jason McCourty and defensive tackle Danny Shelton to the New England Patriots.
Cleveland has off-season workouts on May 22-24; May 29-31; June 4-7. Finally, a mandatory mini-camp will be held from June 12-14.
BEREA, Ohio -- The Browns added another quarterback.
The team announced they have signed quarterback Joel Stave. In addition, the team waived wide receiver Matt Hazel, defensive back Kai Nacua and wide receiver Kasen Williams.
Stave (6-5, 236) is officially in his first NFL season out of Wisconsin. Originally signed by Minnesota as an undrafted free agent in 2016, Stave has spent time on the practice squads in Minnesota (2016), Seattle (2016), Kansas City (2016), Washington (2017) and the New York Jets (2017). He finished his collegiate career as Wisconsin's all-time winningest quarterback, with a 31-10 record as a starter. Stave ranked second in school history in passing yards (7,635) and touchdowns (48).
So, Kasen Williams and Nacua are history
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I remember when we traded for TT there were a number of people who were like "Look! It means we're drafting Mayfield. They're the exact same size and skill set!"
