"Engaging in a never-ending war with Syria that will result in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of civilians will be fine, because the Rapture is coming sooner or later" is certainly a take, I guess.

WH response to Russia sanctions confusion: Blame Nikki Haley

https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/17/politics/nikki-haley-russia-sanctions/index.html

so, this part was interesting:

"She got ahead of the curve," National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow told reporters on Tuesday near the President's Florida estate, a day after a report claiming Trump "put the brakes" on plans for new Russia sanctions. "She's done a great job, she's a very effective ambassador. There might have been some momentary confusion about that."
Haley struck back with a stunning statement later in the day that opened a new rift in the administration and raised questions about the White House's explanation of her comments.
"With all due respect, I don't get confused," she said in a statement obtained by CNN's Jake Tapper.
A White House official said Kudlow apologized to Haley for saying that she might have been confused.
But he wasn't alone in that sentiment. A day earlier, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders responded to reports about Haley's comments by saying the administration was "considering additional sanctions on Russia," but that a decision hadn't yet been made.

___________

this seems to be a regular thing within the trump administration. very limited communication leading to a lot of misstatements and walk backs.

why does this keep happening/?

My guess is this: they never expected to be i:n office in the first place so they hit the ground stumbling. They try to throw together their infrastructure on the fly, andd got caught with their fly open.

Even from the start, this clown car has been careening across the road banging into the guard rails on both sides.

Visions of a mini cooper with a threadbare rag top with misshapen wheels flying down the road...

I have to say that's a little scary how accurate that joke was!

Nikki Haley is one of few from this admin that will have a political career when Trump is gone. She is a rare bright spot in this admin.

Precisely.

He never thought he'd win, and once he did, he never showed any interest in actually being president outside of the trappings of the attention.

He still tries to live like he's in his penthouse, getting upset at what's on FOX and tweeting all day.

Each president has been a little different, but for the most part, they've started their day with a briefing between 4-6 a.m.

Trump has more or less eschewed the briefings because he doesn't read, and now starts his day around 6 or 8, where he watches television hoursfor and screams/cries on Twitter before meeting his briefing staff at 11 a.m. And if he's fussy or mad, they'll just take him golfing.

Truly unreal.
