I was already leaning toward Barkley over Fitz when this thread started.
Since then a FS has been brought in that has shuffled around the needs in the secondary.

Now, without reservation Barkley would be my choice over Fitz....but if Chubb is there that makes it tough.

I know a lot of draft media likes to talk about position value of RBs and Dorsey's history of drafting RB's later.

But Barkley isn't just another a back.

Barkley could fit the Lev Bell role and maybe even better. Lev Bell accounted for 105 1st downs. 31 by reception that's huge for any offense.

But man adding another elite pass rusher would be the finishing touch to remaking the secondary.

If the secondary was FINISHED BEING RE-MADE I’d agree with taking Chubb ...

Problem is we’re FAR FROM DONE IN THE SECONDARY ....

I’d still take Fitz ... If not Fitz, I’d go with Ward ...

Not sure how bringing in Randall makes Fitz irrelivent but bringing in Hyde doesnt close the door on Quan ... at least Hyde’s actually played the position we brought him in for in the NFL ... rofl

Neither has Fitz....I would consider Ward though.

Barkley...Chubb...Ward

I would love to have both but if I had to pick I would take Barclay. I don't think we will get either. If Chubb is there he will be the pick.

I just want a winner. We need players who can be part of the solution not part of the problem.

in addition to their physical tools ....

I love Fitzpatrick for his football intelligence.
I love Barclay for his character.
I love (the thought of)Chubb in combo with Garrett.

I think they Are all destined for NFL stud-dom.... Hopefully one of them will be a Brown

Just curious, why do people spell Saquon Barkley's name with a 'c' instead of a 'k'? We got a lot of bankers on this board?

Here is why I would favor Barkley over the 2 defensive players. The rules of the game today favor offensive players and not defensive players. I do not see that changing anytime soon. The Jags beat the Steelers by out scoring them in the playoffs. The Eagles beat the Pats in the Superbowl by out scoring them. Barkley has the ability to score the ball.

He is the most physically gifted back to come out in a few years.

He is bigger and faster than Zeke.
He is just as faster and just s strong as Fournette.
Scouts say he is the best blocking back to come out since Zeke.
He has great hands and route running ability.

And on top of all of this he has by all accounts better character than Zeke and Fournette.

Its a passing league and while I wouldn't say that Barkley won't be effective helping in that area, getting to the passer is of greater importance IMO.

He is a great kid and I most certainly wouldn't be disappointed to see him with a pumpkin over his head I think if Chubb is on the board that he is the right pick.

Why?

Because when you put Garret and Chubb on the field the entire defense including each other become better. I read somewhere too that if Garret and Chubb where in the same draft Chubb would be the pick. Given the shelf life of RB's and the importance of the passing game from both sides of the ball Chubb I believe will be the pick.

Great pass rushers are simply hard to find, RB's not so much.

hmm. I never thought of that argument. And I like it.

Although, we've seen what three fresh DE's can do. They can defeat an undefeated Patriots team (Giants with Strahan, Tuck, and Umenyora)

Honestly, as long as we grab one of the three guys that I see as "elite", i'll be happy.

Barkley, Fitz, or Chubb. All look ferocious

a month ago a lot of people pegged Fitz to us at #4

now that narrative is basically gone ... the Jets trade, FA, and some shifting of grades has changed it

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Nothing really changed but people's opinions. If you believe that Fitz is a once in a decade FS, you draft him at #4. I believe he is.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I thought unusual that neitherBarkley, Chubb or Fitzpatrick are scheduled for a visit considering all 3 are talked to be candidates for the #4 pick.

Actually almost no RBs or DEs visiting. The big surprise to me is no Fitzpatrick as we are visiting with multiple CBs n safeties.

Mostly QBs n CBs head the list.I think this tells me also we just not investigating DEs. No Chubb, no Landry, no Davenport.

I wonder if we have any thoughts of adding a DE.

RBs are easy to evaluate with film. I think its a given we will take a RB somewhere.

Its the lack of a Fitzpatrick visit that strikes me as odd. Did I miss something???

We already have Peppers, so to me that explains Fitz...

No Saquan, Chubb, Edmunds... that's odd

We might be looking at Chubby at 4. Would be serious rush maybe. Not sure if this is the answer, but trade off is how disruptive this rush would be versus what a killer safety gives you on the back end. If you could work Ward and Chubb, I could be pleased with that.

Would Chubb suit those who know on here?

We signed that guy from green bay to start as our FS. We are not drafting one.

We need Fitz more, but damn, Barkley maybe the best. Would you pass on Emmett Smith or Jim Brown?

I don't even think he is Zeke Elliot much less Jim Brown or Emmitt Smith.

From the film I see a kid that constantly breaks it to the outside. I don't see a kid that runs inside with power. He seems too one dimensional I'm not saying he will be a bad RB in the NFL. I'm just saying I don't see AP or Zeke in this kid.

This reminds me of the knock on strong armed QB’s ... Allen is this years example ...

Allen’s arms so strong he can wait til their open to throw it ... SO HE NEVER HAD TO LEARN the skills it took to “anticipate” them open ....

Quan is the same way ... in HS and college he OUTRAN EVERYONE ... he NEVER had to learn to be patient and read blocks ... nothing there, BREAK IT OUT ...

He needs to LEARN the entire gambit of how to run inside ... i’m Not sure and i watched almost all his senior year highlights ... he was even ever asked to get 3rd and 1 up the middle ...

Hes basically a PROJECT ... *LOL* ... ok ok ok .. that may be a stretch ...

He has yet to play a down at FS, so how can you say this with confidence?

I still think that we will use at least one of our second round selections on a FS, if not in the first round.

Got news for ya, he's better than Zeke, Fournette, and the other kid on the Rams.

But not to worry, Dorsey is going with Ward.

Man I hope we trade back with Denver and get 40.

Best prospect? Maybe to some.

I can still remember posters on this board comparing Richardson to AP...then Jim Brown came out and said that he was just an average RB in his opinion and still they would not listen to good reason. willynilly notallthere

Good read, I think if u asked every gm in the league, they would hand out first round grades on 6 maybe even 7 RBS but I would also bet they project no more than one or two going in the first. That's a hell of a lot of talent that's gonna slide and it's gonna push your normal 2bd n 3 Rd round talent into the back in. I expect us to draft 2 backs this year. Likely one in 2nd and one in 6 or 7.

By my count, over the last 20 years of drafts, the first running back chosen has been the best back from that class seven times. (Obviously, subject to change for recent drafts.) When there’s been a top-five RB pick, he’s been the best three times in 10.
