Keeping up with the theme of the evening ..... Dudes rap sheet is right in the write up ... Zaycoven Henderson - DL - Browns Browns signed Texas A&M DT Zaycoven Henderson. Henderson (6’1/298) was a two-year starter and four-year contributor on the Aggies’ defensive line, tallying 21.5 career tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks. He faced multiple suspensions at TAMU, including an indefinite ban last December after an arrest on felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, tampering with evidence, and marijuana possession. Still invited to the Combine, Henderson tested as a 32nd-percentile SPARQ athlete. If he avoids further off-field trouble, Henderson is capable of becoming a useful rotational three-technique tackle. Is it just me or is this starting to become ridiculous? Nope, not you at all...it is a disturbing trend We only want druggies, thugs, and gangsters. Well Lord Dorsey does like his "swagger" and "toughness", so there ya go.

Senior defensive tackle Zaycoven Henderson’s situation it appears just got much brighter.
Henderson was suspended indefinitely in early December after he was arrested on aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges (brandishing a gun) according to Sam Kahn Jr. of ESPN. Now AggieSports.com is reporting that suspension has been lifted after speaking with Henderson’s agent.
“As of now, the suspension has been lifted,” McCoy said. “The case has been remanded back to the school administrators so they can decide on what they want to do next. We’re hopeful that they won’t go forward, with any other charge.”
The agent also said Henderson has been invited to the NFL Combine. He finished the 2017 season with 35 tackles, 5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
AggieSports.com also checked with the Brazos County District Attorney’s office, which said Henderson had not been indicted by a grand jury.

Man, I don't liek the trend starting here. Most of these UDFAs stand little chance of actually making the team, especially with all of the veterans we signed this off-season .... but man, it's a bad look. I keep expecting to see those little posters with a picture of the player, their name, position, and school ...... and criminal offenses.

Thompson was considered the No. 1 overall recruiting prospect in America when he signed with the Bulldogs out of Albany’s Westover High School in 2015.

Browns signed Georgia DT Trenton Thompson.
Thompson (6’3/288) was a surprise entrant into the draft after struggling with a right MCL injury for most of his junior year, causing his production to dip from 9.5 tackles for loss and five sacks as a sophomore to 3.5 TFLs and no sacks in 2017. Thompson showed he was back to full health in Indy, registering top-ten SPARQ results among defensive linemen at the Combine. A five-star high school recruit who was just hitting his stride pre-injury, Thompson is an exciting gap-shooter prospect for a three-technique role.

A pretty decent group. A few of them might stick.
I guess it depends on how big of a purge Dorsey is going to make. Remember, he was with the team the last 4-5 games last season. He saw all of these guys up front. He probably has already identified 4-5 guys he is going to cut.

We did draft or sign a couple of guys with questionable back rounds but we used a late round pick on them or they are UDFA. Low risk high reward. We give them a chance. If they mess up we cut them. JD has done this before with some success. We have nothing too lose.

I don't like a lot of the guys we have brought in.
I thought it was cool, how Dorsey pursued them, though. He s nt out personal videos to everyone they were interested in. One part was a history of the Browns, (the good parts, I would assume)and the other a personal greeting, and an invitation to Cleveland.
I did think that was cool.

And for those that don't like the UDFAs that were brought in, and there are clearly some questionable ones, the percentage is small for those that actually make the roster. I'm more inclined to accept the UDFA with a questionable past than the 100-ish pick. I get the talent ceiling and value where Antonio was drafted, but this is going to be an issue that won't go away and I hope it does not become a distraction moving forward. If it works out, then kudos to Dorsey. He was right that they did all the necessary homework on ALL players.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

If Callaway turns into Antonio Brown, this will all be forgotten. If he turns into Tyreek Hill, this will all be forgotten.
If the rest of his draft, turns out well, then we won't worry about one player, and this guy will be forgotten. However if the draft does not turn out well, and he has this player hanging around his neck, it will not be forgotten by Browns fans.
Let's hope that he, and the rest of this drat class, turn out well.

yeah, if he'd tryeke hill production wise, Dorsey will be lauded.

yeah, if he'd tryeke hill production wise, Dorsey will be lauded. He will be in that area if he cleans up the act. My feeling is that it was a choice worth making. 4th round receivers wash out all the time. Who cares why they wash out? I am not going to hold it against Dorsey for selecting a guy with 1st round talent in the 4th round and he doesn't pan out. I'd be more likely to hold it against him if we didn't take him and he ends up a stud player.

Our training camp and preseason will be filled with guys who need to be desperate. We need to capitalize on this opportunity. A lot of these guys won't get many other opportunities, yet they've all got the talent that could quite easily have seen them much more highly coveted - quite of few of them, with clean off-field history, would have actually gone drafted. This might be their only shot - perhaps Dorsey is counting on them working like it.

Almost all of the people complaining about us drafting him would have been kicking, screaming, and crying like babies if he studs out and Dorsey would not have drafted him. Using it against him that he was not smart enough to have drafted him.
I AM ALWAYS RIGHT... except when I am wrong.
