Has anyone heard from Versatile Dawg or OverToad?........they haven't posted in weeks.......its nice to get their input.......

Vers sometimes doesn't post for days or weeks.. not sure why.. Have not heard from Overtoad so I can't say.. But he is known to disappear also.

Vers was over on the main site last week. Haven't seen OT in awhile.

Vers got himself kicked off...again.

Did he really,, I didn't know that.... Bummer,, the guy ticks me off no doubt,, but geez

It's the calm before the storm...this board will be clogged up by this weekend.

Anybody who registers after Thursday through the end of the season should be charged a fee...

I enjoy having other teams fans register and talk about the upcoming game or the most recent game, some of them have turned into long time posters... what annoys me is the Browns fans who sign up in the middle of the year because they have one issue they want to harp on over and over again...

What ever happened to " Bells " out of Pit .. Pretty sharp poster !

Yeah, as Ammo put it, Vers is in Banned Camp. As far as Toad......I wonder if something has him away from his computer. He not only hasn't posted since June I don't think he's even been on the board since then. He hasn't posted over at OBR or whatever the site is where he has a blog, either.

Hope he's OK.

Vers is in banned camp for calling Pit a name, not to mention blamed me for saying I wanted him banned in the post (not true at all, I had been in banned camp for much less than what he did, I was merely comparing situations).

Haven't seen guins in ages either... I don't think he ever even made it over here.

I'd be shocked if Toad isn't back with the start of the new season.

Oh I think we can count on Toad being back,, As for Vers,, like I said, the guy ticks me off beyond belief, but I didn't want to see him banned... There are a few others that tick me off like Diam,, but again, I don't want to see him banned either... Every once in a while, he says somethig that makes me laugh...

Vers is OK, he's just being him which there is nothing wrong with I guess.

You seem like such a sensible, level-headed type. It's hard for me to imagine anyone being able to tick you off.

Yeah, Vers can be a curmudgeon, but he's basically a good, dedicated fan. Says what he thinks, with no sugar-coating, to say the least. I think at times, he's surprised by how angry folks get at his posts... it doesn't occur to him that more flies be caught with honey than battery acid.

I've PM'd him a couple of times when we were in agreement about some issue, and he seemed rather shocked that someone would voluntarily say something nice to him. Turns out, he's an OK egg. Didn't keep him from handing me my backside on a silver platter the next time we disagreed, however (hehe).

If he got himself banned, it's probably because of the same old thang... hitting that "post mssg" button before thinking. It takes time to type this stuff, and any of us can stop at any time before we hit that little button. I've never been banned, but I have been deleted once or twice, and I've also been warned once. Every time I've gone back (usually with a massive hangover...) I've realized it was a post I wouldn't have been paticularly proud of anyway.

Diam can be lots like Vers too, at times, but for me, it's all good. Both make good points, and both make me LOL at times, too.

I look at this place like it's a friendly neighborhood sports bar... some folks could end up being good friends, some will always take more effort to like, and still others will come and go for years without my noticing. The one thing that binds us, despite our little differences, is our love for The Browns (can I git a 'amen?').

Bottom line- if I ever get in a war of words with some unruly Steelers/Raven/Bengals fans, I want You, Diam, Vers, Toad... and yeah, even CoachB at my back.

You're all fellow Browns fans, and that alone is good enough for me.

Agreed- 100%.

Until I read his posts, I wasn't aware that Pittsburgh fans could even spell- let alone navigate the internet. Bellslegion has been one of the most informed, insightful, savvy posters I've read on a Browns board. Impressed me so much, I tried to recruit him over from the Darkside! (hehe) Even though he politely turned down my kind invitation (with some wry slam), I still think he's a closet Browns fan.

(Probably was born and raised in Pittsburgh, and was disowned by the family when he decided to continue his education past 4th grade...)


as for all those MIA's... it's the Summer, Dawgs.
Vacations.
Hectic schedules.
Too many Mint Juleps.
etc.

Our Dawgs will be back inda pack come September.
This stuff happens every year about this time.

I think the only thing that really makes "Vers angry" is when he can't "make you angry".


Nobody asked my opinion and didn't need to,but I didn't really want to see him banned either. I was just "messin' with him" more than anything else about him losing his cool in the first place.

But it's "not my sand box".


I'm just glad I'm not the type of poster who angers or incites others........

Toad posted some time ago that after he healed from his back surgury he was cleared to play golf. His aspiration is to become a pro golfer which is what he is pursuing now.

He mentioned in that post that once he got started on that he would be absent from the board for quite sometime. He also mentioned that he may continue his blog on The OBR. I haven't checked for awhile to see if he has. He writes under his boardname OverToad.

Vers is missed. I don't know how long he'll be gone but I hope he makes it back for the opener. I know he rubs some the wrong way but he has a lot of football knowledge and his inside info is priceless.


I wonder too what has happened to Bells' and Guinns. They're a couple of Steelers fans who are longtime posters who were always welcome. Bells' has a ton of football knowledge and brings it here with his usual class act.

You know who I haven't seen in forever is Beaker...

I actually didn't mind Vers after I realized he didn't hate the world and all the other posters who disagreed or even just tried kidding around with him. Both he and OT knew a LOT about football and I was especially always shocked about how OT's predictions usually come true.

I didn't know he was going pro in golf. I thought that maybe his name insinuated that he was in a band that was on tour or something...

Hopefully Vers' ban ends soon cuz I didn't wanna see him banned but I don't like name calling other posters.

I started to agree with him on a lot of things although I see things generally more optimistically.

Toad is one of the posters that i enjoy reading the most on here, dude has a way with words for sure. Hope he'll be back for the regular season.

I did mosey over to the Browns Chat thing a few times this week to have a squiz and noticed Vers as some have pointed out, was posting there.

He's posted a Defensive Breakdown thread and has asked for it not to be re-posted over here so i'm guessing that he'll post it when he gets back......either that or he's spat the dummy (translation:pacifier) and has kicked us to the kerb for good. Hope that ain't the case....in fact i can't see it, if we DawgTalkers drive him nutso, the Browns Chat mob will have him in an early grave before the KC game!

Thinking back, i sometimes wonder what happened to Ozzie82, the he-she.

"have a squiz" Aussie one i've picked up this. = take a look

"nutso" self explanatory = a bit bonkers like.

"he-she" = a transvestite, is it a girl is it a boy? (bit of a story as it relates to the poster in question.

"got the arse" another Aussie ism = got fired or sacked....or in this case, banned.

Just kidding... There are somethings in life that I recognize that I'm just not gonna agree with anyone on.. I just try to let them lay there and not be disturbed by them... Then there are things that just tick me off.. It's not so much the person but the thing they write that gets me..

Vers and I have had a few back channel discussions and he knows my thinking. (have no idea if he thinks I'm nuts or not) And your right, he's a good solid loyal Browns fan... and he has opinions,, tons of opinions.. Some of which I can't agree with, some I can't.. In fact, I probably agree with him more than I don't. (don't tell him that, he might get a swelled head ) Remember, Shhhhh, don't say a word It's just our secret!

Diam on the other hand is just a guy that needs to understand one thing,, that is that posting on an internet board is NOT like sitting at a bar with your friends and talking trash and expressing opinoins about this guy or that guy..

At a bar, people can see the expression on his face... He may be pulling your leg and you can see it.. on here, that just doesn't work. So the tendency is for people to think of him as a troublemaker and arrogant. (I admit that I think that of him)

Oh, and while I'm at it,, I ain't no angel either.. If I know that something bugs someone and that person will not shut up, I'll use it time and time again to aggitate the heck out of them... So like I said, I'm no angel either.

Namecalling,, well there's an issue.. If I say someone is arrogant, am I name calling or calling it as I see it? (go ahead ref, figure that one out )

Honestly, I have been called a few names that are less than flattering and I don't like it so when it comes down to it, I try keep a lid on what I call people in here.. (I do that IRL as well)

While I don't get violent over it, I hate it when some of us come up with names for players,,,, such as Leon=Braylon Edwards etc etc. I never minded things like Cutch for Daylon McCutchoen, or JB for Jim Brown or TC for Tim Couch... But that Leon thing (and Timid) bugs the hell out of me.. Can't even tell you why other than it's just disrespectful... Actually, that should be enough of a reason right there.


Clem if that makes me level headed,,, then I guess I am.... But I bet there are at least 2 or 3 on here that would not agree with you at all....

In the end,, I'm a Browns fan.. Just a Browns fan,, I'm not an expert at anything to do with Football. I'm barely an expert at life.. But I work at it each and every day...

I knew OT was looking to make golf a career. But I always find it hard to believe that someone is so busy that they just disappear for months at a time. Toad enjoys the sound of his own typing so much I just have a hard time believing he could leave for an extended period of time. Hope he makes his way back.

Vers will be back. Just as surely he'll get banned again. He cannot stand someone that he considers an "inferior" arguing with him. And as far as I can tell he feels that damn near all of us are inferior in our football knowledge. And he'd be correct. Most of us are. What he forgets is that this is basically a forum for opinions on the Browns. And we all have many opinions. He just can't get a handle on the fact that we don't all always agree with his opinion.

But, as surely as shep will gripe about someone's thread or post being in the wrong place at least once a day, Vers will be back. JMHO
