I'll be surprised if the Rockets can keep this one close tonight

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

It sure seems that they make the GS crowd sound much louder than any other team on these TNT broadcasts.

If there's any team that can eat up a 17 point deficit in no time at all, it's GS.

Cavs’ Kevin Love to miss Game 7 vs. Celtics with concussion

https://apnews.com/313f982c75b64b759ae43f83adbae6ff/Cavs'-Kevin-Love-to-miss-Game-7-vs.-Celtics-with-concussion?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=AP_Sports&utm_campaign=SocialFlow

CLEVELAND (AP) — Kevin Love won’t be able to help LeBron James and the Cavaliers in Game 7 against the Celtics.

Love was placed in the NBA’s concussion protocol and the All-Star forward will miss Sunday’s series finale of the Eastern Conference finals, a personal blow and yet another challenge for Cleveland to overcome.

The Cavaliers said Love, who inadvertently bashed heads with Celtics rookie Jayson Tatum in the first quarter of Game 6, experienced concussion-like symptoms Saturday before the team’s flight to Boston.

Moments before the Cavs sent a news release updating Love’s status, coach Tyronn Lue held a confusing teleconference during which he said the 29-year-old was still being evaluated and there was a possibility he could play.

However, like everything else in this erratic, convoluted season for Cleveland, things changed quickly.

Now, the Cavs will be without their second-leading scorer and top rebounder as they try to win their fourth straight conference title against a younger team that is 10-0 at home in the playoffs.

Love is averaging 13.9 points and 10.0 rebounds in 17 playoff starts, and he’s the No. 2 scoring option for the Cavs, who have leaned on James harder than ever this postseason.

Celtics coach Brad Stevens believes the Cavaliers are dangerous even without Love.

“We’ll have to prepare our team to play well, regardless of who plays for them,” Stevens said. “Obviously, they’ll run a little bit less of the Love stuff, and more of the other stuff ... probably more opportunities for LeBron, more opportunities for (Kyle) Korver and (J.R.) Smith, more opportunities off those pick and rolls. All of them were very effective for them last night.”

There is statistical data to support that the Cavaliers have been more effective in the series when Love has been out. But while Cleveland may be better defensively, Love’s shot-making ability helps the Cavs spread the floor and open driving lanes for James.

“You can switch more,” Lue said. “I think when Jeff (Green) is in there playing that position, it makes you more versatile defensively. But we miss his rebounding. We miss his offensive ability. It kind of all cancels out.”

James scored 46 points in Friday’s victory, his latest jaw-dropping performance in what has been perhaps the greatest postseason of the superstar’s storied career. James is averaging 33.9 points, 8.9 rebounds and 8.8 assists and has had seven 40-point games and two-buzzer beaters.

The 33-year-old’s next challenge: finding a way to beat the Celtics, who have played at another level on their home floor.

It’s interesting that as James tries to advance to his eighth straight NBA Finals — a feat accomplished only by legendary Celtics center Bill Russell and three other Boston players — that Love will be in street clothes on Cleveland’s bench and Kyrie Irving will be sitting on Boston’s.

The Cavs relented to Irving’s request and traded him to the Celtics last summer, but the All-Star point guard didn’t play in this postseason after undergoing knee surgery.

At one time, James, Irving and Love comprised Cleveland’s “Big 3,” a power trio that won an NBA championship together and went to three straight Finals before fracturing.

After Love went down Friday, James, who played the final eight minutes on a sore right knee, got help from George Hill (20 points), Green (14 points) and Larry Nance Jr. (10 points) as the Cavaliers fought off elimination for the second time in these playoffs.

Lue said he wasn’t concerned about James, who favored his leg while slowly walking out of Quicken Loans Arena early Saturday after Game 6.

For Love, the concussion is another setback in a tough season. He missed seven weeks with a broken hand and revealed he has had bouts of panic attacks.

Love has suffered at least two other known concussions in his career — one that kept him out of Game 3 in the 2016 NBA Finals. He also missed a game at Charlotte on March 28 with a head injury.

Love missed the majority of Cleveland’s 2015 run to the Finals after separating his shoulder in the first round against Boston.

I've always thought the same thing but I thought it was because the crowd was just more into it; more enthusiasm...But maybe they just kick the crowd up in the mix? I dunno.

-Houston up by 10 at the half. Great game.

GSW up by 12 with 9:39 left in the game. It's their game to lose (actually, win) right now.

Yep.

Too much ISO ball in the second half with Harden, me thinks. Plus Golden State is just too good to get owned.

I’d really hate to see the warriors if we win game 7.

They are the best team in the 3rd quarter, and we are the worst.

Warriors will win game 7. They turned it on and realized the most effective way to beat Houston's defense: early shots and false screens.

I fell asleep and missed the second half. It's going to be tough for Houston if CP3 can't play. Dude is a very good player and his toughness and tenacity are invaluable.

Havent been involved in this thread because I just got back from a DTers "vacation" LOL

But does anyone really see anyone stopping Lebron tonight? Game 7 to go to the finals. I will admit I am not the biggest LBJ fan, but I have not seen anyone as unstoppable as him, when he puts his mind to it , since MJ, maybe Kobe a little, but not on this level.

I've been wrong before, but I'm going to put a little money on Boston tonight. I think they'll win for a few reasons:

1. They're way better at home
2. George Hill probably can't duplicate what he's done at home
3. Stevens has had time to see how we're defending and playing on offense without Love .. they'll adjust now and cram the paint more
4. I honestly think Boston is better

I tend to agree with every one of your points , and with Klove out , Boston killing us in the paint is even more of a concern. But I remember back when Jordan was working on his second three peat, and betting against him a few times, thinkin his reign was over . I was fairly young at that time, and I remember an oldschool at work taking my money a few times and laughing at me and telling me " there are certain people you just never bet against"

I tend to think the Cavs would have been a slight favorite with KLove and are slight dogs without him. It's game 7 though. I wouldn't be surprised if it went either way.

Also one comment about last night's Rockets/Warriors game. I was watching on and off but from what I could tell, the reffing was shameful. Harden, Gorden, and other Rockets would get mugged and no call; Durant gets touched and it's a foul. It happened over and over again (obviously the Rockets had their own issues on top of this.) A couple instances of the ball being off Golden State but they get the ball anyway. Just take it as a rule that when a big market/popular/big draw team is down 3-2 in the NBA, they are going to get the calls in game 6.

I get Harden's talent and why he's so productive, but he's probably one of my least favorite players to watch

I told you before the last game that the NBA is so predictable and wants those game 7's but I will still root for Boston even though I know the NBA would rather see Lebron in the Finals ... GO CELTICS smile

And I told you before the game that is why Boston won game 5, because no way were they winning game 6.

I predicted the Cavs would win in 7 and have even been right about who would win which games. I'm sticking w/the Cavs in 7.

I'm jacked for tonight's game. This is what it's all about. Win or lose............this is FUN for me. I realize that many on here think the most exciting thing is the draft, but the Browns have had high picks for decades and we still always suck.

I love playoff sports. I'm thankful that the Cavs are in the Eastern Conference Finals w/a legit shot to advance to our 4th consecutive Finals appearance. That is EXCITING to me!

Let's Go Cavs!!!!!

Lebron shooting the tech is like giving a point away. So far no energy

Why did Lebron just watch that guy cut to the hoop?
