Thanks! Made me hungry for ball park dogs with stadium mustard.

A great day for it with an early start!

ESPN+ is something I've thought about getting, but I've heard similar stories about it "acting up"

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Bieber is first Tribe pitcher since Louie Tiant to strikeout at least six batters in his first three big-league appearances. El Tiante did it in 1964.

Constantly. I have the new E:60 episode playing right now and it just continues to buffer (which is great because I'm trying to do some work and don't need an extra distraction).

So maybe I'll hold off on it until they figure stuff out

Yeah, I'm sure Disney is going to add more servers eventually, but I really don't know anything about that side.

Yeah, it's hard to tell with technology. Sometimes companies go "cheap" and it takes a while for them to find the right balance

It sure looks like Francona is getting the bullpen in order for the second half.

It seems he's picking up other team's rejects (middle relievers) and reinvigorating them. Turning them back into serviceable relievers.

Indeed. Another solid performance yesterday. I listened to a small portion of one of his recent interviews too and that dude is really intelligent. I had no idea how much math could seriously be taken into effect by pitchers.

As said, the bullpen is starting to take form too. Francona, we trust ya man!

LOL I remember when we 1st traded for him, and people everywhere were screaming at the front office for trading for such a bum. rofl

I had to look it up. We killed that trade. We not only got Bauer, but also received Bryan Shaw, who was a rock in the bullpen for years. We also acquired Drew Stubbs, who never did anything for Cleveland, and Matt Albers. (who I seem to recall helped in the bullpen for a year)

The Reds got Choo, who was a 1 year rental.

The Diamondbacks got Didi Gregorious, (who is now a Yankee) along with Tony Sipp, and some guy named Lars Anderson. (???)

Man the Indians have made some great trades.

Let's see.

So Plutko is pitching today.

Yeah. He's only given up 8 homers in 25 innings.

I'm scared.

I will go on record right now. I think that Plutko is going to be a very good MLB starter. I think it's important for him to get this time in the majors go he can see what he needs to work on.

Man, Beiber, Plutko, Ryan Merritt, (who I also really like) and Cody Anderson, (who is recovering from elbow surgery) give the Indians a nice group of starters. (though Merritt and Anderson are recovering from injuries) Plutko and Merritt could be future bullpen guys, but I do really like both as starters.

I hoped that Danny Salazar might become a top end starter, but he has a hard time holding up. He had an incredible 1st half of last season, but then fell apart. I wonder if he might be a future closer? However, I don't think that he'll do that here, as his contract ends after this season, and I have a hard time seeing the Tribe pouring a lot more money into him.

Damn interleague play always crashes in when the offense starts clicking. Now we have to go to St Louis where we lose our DH, and have to sit either Alonso or Encarnacion. Its like "We now interrupt this baseball season with a different set of rules and style of play."

My BIL is a Tigers fan and he likes to text me at 5:00 with harrassing texts about the Indians and how the Tigers gonna whomp the Tribe..

LMFAO...

CLEVELAND -- The Detroit Tigers will end this road trip 0-for-Ohio.

The Cleveland Indians finished off a decisive series sweep on Sunday afternoon, beating the Tigers 12-2 at Progressive Field.

The Tigers (36-42) have lost five in a row, a span in which they've been outscored 40-11 by the league's two Ohio-based teams -- the Indians and Cincinnati Reds.

Detroit is now 3-10 this season against the Indians (43-33), who have won seven in a row. The Tribe outscored the Tigers 26-3 this weekend.

The Tigers ice-cold bats did little damage against Trevor Bauer on Saturday; but they managed little more against rookie starters Shane Bieber on Friday and Adam Plutko on Sunday.

The Tigers scored two in the fourth on RBI singles by Niko Goodrum and James McCann, but were otherwise shut down by the strike-throwing Plutko, who didn't give up a single free pass all afternoon.

Tigers starter Matthew Boyd labored through his second consecutive rough start, giving up six runs on eight hits, a couple of walks and three stolen bases (all of which occurred in three three-run second inning).

Artie Lewicki pitched five innings of relief, sparing the Tigers' bullpen from any stress.

The Tigers have lost 10 in a row at Progressive Field, including all seven games this year. They've lost 23 of their last 29 games here dating back to June 24, 2015.

Pretty funny insight LOL.

You remain an optimist. This recent run production makes it easier to overlook plate performance.

Wahoo! Go, Tribe!

Oliver Perez is doing fine for an old guy.

Have you noticed his quirky set-up?

His right wrist is like limp.

Let me see if I can find an image. Hold on.

You can’t really make it out here, but his right wrist is twisted so that his glove is open to the batter during his set-up.

Probably freaks batters out. And he's a lefty.

Carlos Carrasco, drenched in sweat here in muggy St. Louis, said he threw a 25-pitch (all pitches) bullpen session: “It went great — like back to normal.” Said he’ll increase to 40 pitches off mound on Wednesday.

Yeah, sucked because I gutted the rain delay out specifically to watch my favorite pitcher and putting it like you did was mild lol. It's all okay though, we know he doesn't have a funk like that much at all.

Man, the youngsters in the rotation have been absolutely incredible.

Beiber goes 6 tonight, allowing 1 run, and pushing his record to 3-0. Add in Plutko starting this year 4-1. Man, what a luxury to have this kind of depth.

We also have Carrasco coming back soon. We are going to be sending a very good pitcher either to the 'Pen, or the Minors when he returns.

Since being called up, Shane is 3-0, era of 2.22, WHIP of 1.32, 27 strikeouts in 24.1 innings

And, oh yea, he's batting .333 with a slugging percentage better than Mike Trout and an OPS better than Jose Altuve. nanner rofl

Hard to believe it's already here.

Tomorrow starts a 3 game series @ Oakland.

The Tribe's last regular season west coast road trip.

You may recall the Indians opened the season with 6 games (@ LA, @ Seattle) and finished a predicable 2-4.

But guess what happens when the Indians do come home?

Sugardale Dollar Dog Night!

July 6th.

(OK you caught me. This dog is $79.95 plus State, Federal and City and County tax. $136.53 after tax)

Here's the Dollar Dog:

Highlights from Indians manager Terry Francona’s pregame Q&A with reporters ahead of Friday’s game against the A’s at the Coliseum.

Q: We saw Tyler Olson completed his bullpen session. What’s the next step for him?

TF: “He’s feeling really good, so that’s good. I’m sure that when the time’s right, we’ll get him a couple outings in Triple-A just to kind of make sure when he comes back, he kind of hits the ground running. When he was going good, man, it gave us that other lefty. So, we want to make sure he’s ready to kind of help us. But, I think he’s in a position where — not that you want to take time off — but I think, remember [Carlos] Carrasco came back last time and he was so good? I think we’ll get the good Olson, which I think will be really helpful.

Q: You mentioned that Olson tried to pitch through the issue for a while and he admits that, too. Is that a tough one, because he saw what the bullpen was going through and wanted to try to help fix it…

TF: “You know what? We had a nice long talk about this. What you appreciate sometimes can also get you in trouble and there’s a fine line. Sometimes, you go over the line. And I think he understands better now. I can’t be mad at him. The kid’s trying to pitch. That’s something that we really [appreciate]. Part of the reason we like this kid is because he’ll show up and take the ball. Well, then you take the ball a little too much. Like I said, it’s hard to be made at him. He doesn’t make excuses. That was, I think his biggest thing. Even the night he came out, he goes, ‘That’s not why I gave up runs.’ He’s a competitor and sometimes that gets you in trouble. It’s happened to Tomlin before. You walk kind of that fine line sometimes.”

Q: Is there a day yet for Andrew Miller to get back on a mound?

TF: “No, he’s still just doing the flat ground at home. My guess is it’ll be when we get home — not until then.”

Q: Is Carrasco all set for the rehab assignment?

TF: “Carrasco is going to pitch tomorrow in Double-A.”

Q: And if everything goes well, Carrasco’s next start can be for you guys?

TF: “He’s actually going to throw maybe 65-ish [pitches], depending on how much he gets pushed, things like that. So, when he comes back, he can maybe go like 85–95, just depending on how he’s doing. But, you’re not going into the start thinking it’s a bullpen day, because he really hasn’t been down that much.”

Q: Anything new with Ryan Merritt?

TF: “He is pitching tonight and I think [his rehab stint] has until [July] 14th.”

Q: When Carrasco comes back, will it be a tough decision for you guys to stick with Shane Bieber or Adam Plutko for the fifth spot?

TF: “I think we know what we want to do. I think we have some ideas. We’ve been talking about it, so as we progress, it’ll be more clear.”

Q: It looks like Jason Kipnis is starting to get some balls to fall in…

TF: “Sometimes you need that. It’s nice when you hit a ball hard and you get rewarded, but it’s nice when you get a ball to fall in, too. You look up and instead of 1-for-4, you’re 2-or-4. You’re on base a couple times. Yeah, I think all that helps. Guys getting on base and running around and getting dirty, I think it even helps at the plate.”

Q: Anything stand out about the A’s?

TF: “You know, they played really well on the road. The one thing you can kind of bet on, every time you see them, there’s going to be some new faces. But, they’ve got some younger guys that can play and the back-end of their bullpen is really good. Treinen and Trivino have been outstanding.”

Q: What have you seen from Edwin Encarnacion that last couple of weeks?

TF: “It’s funny, because his average went down. That happens, but batting average, guys kind of get hot and then they usually taper off. But, he’s been real productive. When he’s got hits, it seems like they’ve been home runs or hits with runners on base. Batting average, it shouldn’t be a lost statistic, but it’s not the main statistic. I think it definitely tells you how much a guy is getting a hit to get on base. That’s kind of an obvious one. But, with him, if he’s hitting .230 or .240 or .250 or .260, what you care about are the RBIs.”

Q: Anything new at all with Danny Salazar?

TF: “We are going to have some news here probably in the next couple days. We’re putting that together. It’s a little premature, but we’ll have some more information here in the next couple days.”

Q: Can you say anything more other than that?

TF: “I really don’t think I can. I’d rather get our information in order first. But, we’re exploring some things, if that helps.”

Q: What has Yonder Alonso meant to the team so far this year?

TF: “Well, we lost Santana, so we wanted to get a power bat. And he’s kind of given us that. He’s driven in, I think, 40-something runs and hit the ball out of the ballpark — 12 home runs. I think he’s kind of come as advertised. I think early on, he probably — like everybody — tried to do a little too much. He went out of the strike zone. When he stays in the strike zone, he’s a pretty potent bat.”

Q: Dan Otero and Zach McAllister have gotten back to being themselves over the last month or so. How much has stability in other bullpen roles helped the process of them getting back on track?

TF: “And that’s why, when I get asked, I can see why somebody would ask the question, but I don’t think it’s always one thing. I think there’s usually three or four things. Like, if the starters go deeper, the ‘pen usually does better. And when other guys in the ‘pen are doing better, it helps the other guys, it helps them along, too. When you don’t start reaching for stuff, they have a better chance to be successful.”

Q: It seems like you’ve been able to better use them the way they are meant to be used…

TF: “I agree with that. And it’s helped. You know, in May, we couldn’t get anything to go right, so everybody, including myself, was struggling. When you start to get a little consistency, it helps everybody.”

Q: Brad Mills is back with the team?

TF: “Yeah, he got back. He seems to be in good spirits. It’s amazing, man, how you don’t realize until he’s gone how much I just talk to him during a game. Like, I looked at Sarby and he said to me one day, ‘Holy [expletive].’ He goes, ‘These are things that you’re asking me that you never do. I’ve got my area and I’m not used to it.’ We were laughing about it. He was standing next to me one inning, because Bud was doing the bench, but he was doing the outfield. So, Sarby was standing next to me for a while. And after a while, he goes, ‘Damn, you guys talk about a lot of [expletive].’ But, it was funny, because everybody’s got their area and you watch your area. Did you Barney wore Millsie’s jersey out there the other night? Because Millsie had won like seven in a row.”
