Can we make a distinction between people shooting off display type fireworks and the a-holes who just think its funny to startle residents and scare animals, along with keeping their neighbors awake who need to get up early for work the next day? Observing the local ordinance about noise after 10PM doesn't seem like all that much to ask. Not littering my roof and my yard with the sticks from bottle rockets also doesn't seem unreasonable. Hashtag that.

So it's your "opinion" that the only reason people shoot off loud fireworks is to scare you and your dog? Really? Jump to conclusions much? And of course when they set off bottle rockets they're always aiming for the remnants of them to land on your roof. Yeah, we all know it's a total plot to do that. lmao

And I believe in noise ordinances. Most all of the time. But I'm smart enough to realize that New Years Eve and the 4th of July, people aren't going to abide by it. I adjust my expectations to something a little more real.

You want a hashtag? #grumpyoldman

Yeah, Dave, we're just grumpy old men. We both tried to explain it two or three times, but, well, you know how it is with some folks....

I am past 60 and I can be grouchy sometimes. But I also know that I haven't been unfair, unreasonable, or anything less than civil with my neighbors. So, whatever, people can think what they want.

I don't doubt that.

Fireworks are representative of "the rockets red glare" in our National Anthem. A very Patriotic thing.

The next thing you know some of you will be taking a knee when the National Anthem is being played.

They aren't here, at least not the good ones. But some of the neighbors brought back some real good stuff from South Carolina and put on one heck of a show in the cul de sac.. it rivaled the town's display.. very impressive.
