Shootouts are so tense! Congrats to Croatia though! Agreed. For fans of the team it is so nerve wracking. For players it is so cruel (those who lose and those who miss). BUT, for neutral fans...it's fantastic drama to watch!

Bring on the France/Belgium game! It should be a great game; no prediction (slight edge to Belgium?) but I hope the Red Devils prevail...

Bring on the France/Belgium game! It should be a great game; no prediction (slight edge to Belgium?) but I hope the Red Devils prevail... Dude, that match is going to be an absolute killer! I don't know who will take it as when they are both playing full throttle they both look as deadly as each other. Belgium probably has the stronger defense, however. AND, as much as I would like to see England win it all I think that the winner of France v Belgium will end up winning it all. If those two teams were not in the same bracket they most likely would have met each other in the Championship making that semi final essentially an unmissable final. But, any given day and an inferior team can, and has, knocked out clear favorites all tournament. So...GO THREE LIONS!

Yeah, I'd agree that France/Belgium match could very well be the "Final". Both teams have looked great all tournament. Still you never know.
I do like that all four teams left have a combined two World Cup Wins. It's nice seeing teams that haven't won it before (or often) win. Of the four, I'd say I'm probably pulling for Belgium the most, and then England a close second. But I'd be happy with any of them winning it.

Also, if France winds up meeting England in the Finals, will they call it the "100 Minutes War"?

It's amazing to think the opening kick-off was June 14th.
This summer is flying by.
PS. The next World Cup (2022) is in December!

That's because it is in Qatar. Should be interesting WC considering the alcohol and public intoxication laws they have there!

Predictions in white
England v Colombia France v Argentina Belgium v Japan Uruguay v Portugal Spain v Russia Denmark v Croatia Brazil v Mexico Sweden v Switzerland 6 of 8, not terrible. Here's the next round: Uruguay v France Brazil v BelgiumEngland v Sweden Croatia v Russia 3 of 4 is okay. More predictions: France v BelgiumEngland v Croatia The France/Belgium pick was a coinflip. I wouldn't be surprised if France wins.

France just looks scary-good. Ever since that Argentina game they have really shored up their defense. They will be hard to beat. An England v France final will be a huge match (competitively, culturally, socially, politically etc.)

Croatia played poor in the 1st half. This game could easily be 3-0 by now.
Keep up the pressure England!

Ok, the final 25-30 min of that 2nd half was stressful as hell.
My nerves are not looking forward to Extra Time or penalties.

It was all Croatia for most of that half. Croatia was the better team the 2nd half and extra time. They seemed not more energetic, but rather better organized. They were the better team (unfortunately)and deserve to move on to Sunday. I wonder how much more gas they've got left in the tank...

And I was wearing my personalized England jersey today too. I must have been the jinx. Sorry.

They seem to have legs deep into the match, and it's why they're able to survive these last few matches.

I’m croatian! OK, only half croatian. St. Nicholas Croatian Byzantine Catholic Church Cleveland At the corner of East 36th & Superior The church I was baptized in, did first communion in and served as an altered boy. I wonder if the neighborhood is still croatian? (probably not) I wonder if they’ll do a special service.

I also didn't like how the Croatians played yesterday. Asserting ones presence is fine, but when it comes to blatant fouling that becomes unacceptable and there was a lot of that yesterday. THAT SAID, I wont be disappointed if France lose as it means a new country will be hoisting the trophy for the first time in their history, which always makes for a good story.

England should be happy with their Cup. They made difficult decisions to rebuild the team, cut big name vets and go young while fully accepting the lumps they may take...in four years they have gone from not making it out of the group stage, losing to Iceland in the Euros to a guaranteed finish of 3rd or 4th place in the world. Not bad and I'm well proud of the boys & Southgate.

While it doesn't have the 'drama' of Sunday's game, the England/Belgium game should produce some exciting football. Belgium to prevail 3-2...

Neither teams wanted to be in this match. England's faces showed this at the start. They are probably exhausted and a bit sore as they only played a couple days ago. But, to finish "bronze medalist" in the WC, or even 4th, is no bad achievement. It may also sting more for the Belgians to be in the third place match given how favored they were especially once the Germans bottomed out and Spain, Portugal, Argentina and Brazil exited. Not to mention, the Belgian side is pretty old and this may be their final world cup as a team. England, however, have several years left in the core group of players. Hopefully, it wont be another 20 years before they make it to the semi final tho!
1-0 at the moment....England need to equalize. They don't look like they have it in them, however. Kane looking more and more likely to get the Golden Boot.
