Jesus Christ never stepped foot in a Christian Church or read a page of the New Testament. I'd say he was pretty Christ-like.
BTW- neither did his most loyal and praised diciples.
That's actually false. Christ preached from the Temples and he preached where two or more had gathered. It's doesn't take much to make a church. Also, one of the places he taught his disciples was later turned into a church so there is that. His disciples created MANY new Christian churches and they taught from many of the same books we teach from now even if it wasn't all organized into one book and called the Bible until later on. The temples were Jewish, not Christian, Christ was a Jew. And obviously when I said "Christian Church", I meant a building and you know it. As for the many books the disciples taught from, do you have a link for that information because I'd like to read it. I provided a link for you to read. When I talk about these things it's not to disparage Christianity, it's to be more informed or help others be more informed. Don't read any more into it than that. You want a link? Here it is... READ THE BIBLE. I have, cover to cover twice, have you? So why don't you know about the Churches established by the Apostles? Why do you refer to early Christians as Jews when they were Jewish Christians?

Just reading it isn't enough. I already explained that previously so I won't rehash it. That is plenty when you are young and searching for your own beliefs.

You want a religious thread? Start one. This is not the right thread to listen to your garbage. Except as a protest against Christian values there is no discussion to be had. The school tried to sneak in their own moral teachings while hiding it from parents because they knew the parents would oppose it. Thus this long rabbit hole of moral values discussing that is invariably secular vs christian. The truth is there are not many public schools these days that are all that great to send Christian children to because they are hell bent on trying to make Christian children feel ashamed to be Christian or palute their thinking to second guess their Bible and pastors. Secular teachers can say whatever they want but good grief if a Christian teacher says the world God they might be fired the next day. I'm just glad I can choose to use school vouchers to send my kids to a Christian private school instead of the hell that is public school these days.

It just gives you these false sense of entitlement to let you pretend you know what your talking about. It's like saying you opened a history book so know you know all you need to know and you understand all about history. Don't get me wrong I commend you for reading it a few times but it takes a lifetime of study to understand just some of the nuances of context. I lost track of how many times I have read through it and I am still gaining new insight each year as I try to read more and understand better. It's just not that simple a book to just simply read through a few times and "get it". No offense.

The same people who cry and cry about Native American children being sent to Christian schools to wipe out their heritage could give a rats butt about Christian kids having the same thing done to them today.

I don't need a link because this is all common knowledge especially for those who have been to seminary like I have. LMFAO.. Unless your mother was/is Jewish you're not considered Jewish. I doubt you claim the ethnicity of a Semitic people descended from Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob As far as religion goes.. I'll assume you haven't converted to Judaism.. so that's out too http://www.jewfaq.org/whoisjew.htmWho Is a Jew? Level: Basic <~~ For Seminary folks LMFAO In the Bible, Jews were called Hebrews or Children of Israel The terms "Jew" and "Judaism" come from the tribe or kingdom of Judah "Jew" now refers to all physical and spiritual descendants of Jacob A person can be Jewish by birth or by conversion Traditionally, Jewish status passes through the mother, not the father Origins of the Words "Jew" and "Judaism" The original name for the people we now call Jews was Hebrews. The word "Hebrew" (in Hebrew, "Ivri") is first used in the Torah to describe Abraham (Gen. 14:13). The word is apparently derived from the name Eber, one of Abraham's ancestors. Another tradition teaches that the word comes from the word "eyver," which means "the other side," referring to the fact that Abraham came from the other side of the Euphrates, or referring to the fact Abraham was separated from the other nations morally and spiritually. Another name used for the people is Children of Israel or Israelites, which refers to the fact that the people are descendants of Jacob, who was also called Israel. The word "Jew" (in Hebrew, "Yehudi") is derived from the name Judah, which was the name of one of Jacob's twelve sons. Judah was the ancestor of one of the tribes of Israel, which was named after him. Likewise, the word Judaism literally means "Judah-ism," that is, the religion of the Yehudim. Other sources, however, say that the word "Yehudim" means "People of G-d," because the first three letters of "Yehudah" are the same as the first three letters of G-d's four-letter name. Originally, the term Yehudi referred specifically to members of the tribe of Judah, as distinguished from the other tribes of Israel. However, after the death of King Solomon, the nation of Israel was split into two kingdoms: the kingdom of Judah and the kingdom of Israel (I Kings 12; II Chronicles 10). After that time, the word Yehudi could properly be used to describe anyone from the kingdom of Judah, which included the tribes of Judah, Benjamin and Levi, as well as scattered settlements from other tribes. The most obvious biblical example of this usage is in Esther 2:5, where Mordecai is referred to as both a Yehudi and a member of the tribe of Benjamin. In the 6th century B.C.E., the kingdom of Israel was conquered by Assyria and the ten tribes were exiled from the land (II Kings 17), leaving only the tribes in the kingdom of Judah remaining to carry on Abraham's heritage. These people of the kingdom of Judah were generally known to themselves and to other nations as Yehudim (Jews), and that name continues to be used today. In common speech, the word "Jew" is used to refer to all of the physical and spiritual descendants of Jacob/Israel, as well as to the patriarchs Abraham and Isaac and their wives, and the word "Judaism" is used to refer to their beliefs. Technically, this usage is inaccurate, just as it is technically inaccurate to use the word "Indian" to refer to the original inhabitants of the Americas. However, this technically inaccurate usage is common both within the Jewish community and outside of it, and is therefore used throughout this site. Who is a Jew? A Jew is any person whose mother was a Jew or any person who has gone through the formal process of conversion to Judaism. It is important to note that being a Jew has nothing to do with what you believe or what you do. A person born to non-Jewish parents who has not undergone the formal process of conversion but who believes everything that Orthodox Jews believe and observes every law and custom of Judaism is still a non-Jew, even in the eyes of the most liberal movements of Judaism, and a person born to a Jewish mother who is an atheist and never practices the Jewish religion is still a Jew, even in the eyes of the ultra-Orthodox. In this sense, Judaism is more like a nationality than like other religions, and being Jewish is like a citizenship. See What Is Judaism? This has been established since the earliest days of Judaism. In the Torah, you will see many references to "the strangers who dwell among you" or "righteous proselytes" or "righteous strangers." These are various classifications of non-Jews who lived among Jews, adopting some or all of the beliefs and practices of Judaism without going through the formal process of conversion and becoming Jews. Once a person has converted to Judaism, he is not referred to by any special term; he is as much a Jew as anyone born Jewish. Although all Jewish movements agree on these general principles, there are occasional disputes as to whether a particular individual is a Jew. Most of these disputes fall into one of two categories. First, traditional Judaism maintains that a person is a Jew if his mother is a Jew, regardless of who his father is. The liberal movements, on the other hand, allow Jewish status to pass through the mother or the father if the child identifies as Jewish. For example, former Phillies catcher Mike Lieberthal, who had a Jewish father but chooses not to be identified as Jewish, would not be Jewish according to the Reform movement, but former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who had a Jewish father and adopted a Jewish identity as an adult, would be considered Jewish. See their position here). On the other hand, the child of a a Christian father and a Jewish mother who does not publicly identify himself as Jewish would be considered Jewish according to the Orthodox movement, but not according to the Reform movement. Actor Harrison Ford would fit into this category: his mother's parents were Jewish, but he does not particularly consider himself to be of any religion, but the Orthodox would count him toward a minyan if he showed up for services. The matter becomes even more complicated, because the status of that interfaith child's children also comes into question. Second, the more traditional movements do not always acknowledge the validity of conversions by the more liberal movements. A more liberal movement might not follow the procedures required by the more traditional movement, thereby invalidating the conversion. For example, Orthodoxy requires acceptance of the yoke of Torah (observance of Jewish law as Orthodoxy understands it), while other movements would not teach the same laws that Orthodoxy does and might not require observance. The Conservative movement requires circumcision and immersion in a mikvah, which is not always required in Reform conversions. About Matrilineal Descent Many people have asked me why traditional Judaism uses matrilineal descent to determine Jewish status, when in all other things (tribal affiliation, priestly status, royalty, etc.) we use patrilineal descent. The Torah does not specifically state anywhere that matrilineal descent should be used; however, there are several passages in the Torah where it is understood that the child of a Jewish woman and a non-Jewish man is a Jew, and several other passages where it is understood that the child of a non-Jewish woman and a Jewish man is not a Jew. In Deuteronomy 7:1-5, in expressing the prohibition against intermarriage, G-d says "he [i.e., the non-Jewish male spouse] will cause your child to turn away from Me and they will worship the gods of others." No such concern is expressed about the child of a non-Jewish female spouse. From this, we infer that the child of a non-Jewish male spouse is Jewish (and can therefore be turned away from Judaism), but the child of a non-Jewish female spouse is not Jewish (and therefore turning away is not an issue). Leviticus 24:10 speaks of the son of an Israelite woman and an Egyptian man as being "among the community of Israel" (i.e., a Jew). On the other hand, in Ezra 10:2-3, the Jews returning to Israel vowed to put aside their non-Jewish wives and the children born to those wives. They could not have put aside those children if those children were Jews. Several people have written to me asking about King David: was he a Jew, given that one of his female ancestors, Ruth, was not a Jew? This conclusion is based on two faulty premises: first of all, Ruth was a Jew, and even if she wasn't, that would not affect David's status as a Jew. Ruth converted to Judaism before marrying Boaz and bearing Obed. See Ruth 1:16, where Ruth states her intention to convert. After Ruth converted, she was a Jew, and all of her children born after the conversion were Jewish as well. But even if Ruth were not Jewish at the time Obed was born, that would not affect King David's status as a Jew, because Ruth is an ancestor of David's father, not of David's mother, and David's Jewish status is determined by his mother.

Hypocrites. Did all the Christian schools close? I must have missed that. OH, I get it. You want prayer and Christianity in PUBLIC schools, where my grandchildren would be forced to be exposed to it. Or Muslim children, Hindu Children, Jewish Children, LGBTQ children, etc. would all be forced to pray like good Christians... Yet all of their parents pay taxes too, so don't they get a say? That is what's happened you know, the OTHER got their say and the fair conclusion was NO religion in Public Schools. But you can't wrap around that simple idea can you?

You cannot follow Christ, while acting consistently against Him. You cannot follow Christ, while disputing things He (or God) said in the Bible.
Jesus warned that there is a wide gate, and a narrow gate, and that the narrow gate is the one that leads to eternal life, while the wide gate leads to condemnation and death. Jesus told us to follow and obey Him. Jesus defined certain things in the New testament, personally, and yet you go against those. That is not following Christ.
Matthew 7:21-23 warns us:
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
If we are acting contrary, or in rebellion against the Bible, then we are not following Christ. Your words indicate that you are making up your own rules, as opposed to obeying what Jesus taught. Jesus never told us to follow some of what he taught. He told sinners to go and sin no more. He told us not to lead (little ones) astray, but that is what happens when we offer approval of sinful activities, as though God would. What does the Bible tell us that this gets us? It is also not "kind" to approve of sinful behavior, and to make excuses in the name of compassion. Jesus never once told people to go and continue to sin. Do you know what he told them instead?
Timothy 3:16 says: All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
Yes, rebuking when a believer is doing contrary to what the Bible teaches, and when they are offering approval to sinful things people do.
I do not once, not for one second, believe that Jesus wants us to stand by while a brother leads people astray, by tacit approval of sin. Jesus warns us against leading others into sin, and if someone is sinning, and you, as a Christian, approve of that sin, then why would they ever turn from it?
Now I am not saying that we go around throwing a finger into peoples' faces and screaming "sinner!", but we cannot be part of the world, where we pretend that anything anyone wants to do is just fine with God. If we are doing this, then we are not following Christ. You can act kindly towards others without telling them, or implying, that their sin is just fine, and they'll be just fine with God. That really is leading them astray, which Jesus warned against. You are a truly sad man. You forget a lot of scriptures from the very book you claim to observe. Judge ye not lest ye too shall also be judged. Let he who be without sin cast the first stone. I worry about you.

This is the last I will say about this here.... for now.
There is a difference between judging, and rebuking. There is a difference between judging, and guiding.
Was Jesus judging the woman who was about to be stoned, or the woman at the well, when He told each to go and sin no more? (to stop their sexual sin, specifically) Of course not. He was guiding them to the right path.
This is what we are to do as Christians.Nowhere does it say to just accept whatever someone does as moral. I challenge you to find that in the Bible for mw. In fact, Paul says to excommunicate brothers who stray, and refuse to repent.
When we become Christians, it is not a "part time job". It is to be a major part of our lives, no matter where we are, or what else we are doing. Jesus said that we are to take up our crosses and follow Him. That means even when obeying, and communicating, what He taught is unpopular. (and He communicated not just directly, but also through prophets and the Apostles, via the Holy Spirit) I am sorry that you seem to disagree.
Anyway, I am done. I shake the dust off my sandals. It was a mistake for me to ever wade back into this cesspool.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

Ah, the subtle nuance reply. You didn't wade into this cesspool, you dove in head first by telling people there's only your way to believe and everyone who believes any differently than you is doomed to hell. As I said, I worry about you.
