Like I've said so many times before: dude's the antithesis of everything My Folks raised me to aspire to.

Holding him to even low standards of behavior would be a step in his improvement.

If any of her tapes are proof of a crime, maybe. Other than that, she's just another distraction. Just like removing Brennan's security clearance was a pure distraction from Manafort coverage and Omarosa coverage. Trump likes to bounce from one crisis to the next because America has a short attention span and shorter memory when they are bombarded with news 24/7.

Well yes! IF the tapes show illegal acts...,

NEW: @CynthiaNixon responds to @andrewcuomo comment that “America was never that great.”
Nixon: “I think this is just another example of Andrew Cuomo trying to figure out what a progressive sounds like and missing by a mile.”

Not sure of your reasoning bringing up Ingraham and Hannity. But they have more brains than Cuomo by definition (non politicians). Cynthia Nixon, well if NY supports her......let's just say I am glad I do not live in NY.

I think you are confusing Nixon's character on Sex and the City, who was a Harvard Lawyer, with the real Cynthia Nixon who is not nearly that bright.

Cynthia Nixon is a good hearted woman who is trying to suck up to the DSA very badly. That's much better than trying to suck up to people in big pharma.

So it is better to suck up to socialists than to a public company that is producing goods that saves lives and makes people money?

Lara Trump offers Omarosa a $180K salary to rejoin campaign in new recording

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/lara-tru...ory?id=57194327

Omarosa Manigault Newman, former reality television villain and White House official, released her latest secret recording –- this time, a conversation with Lara Trump about joining the Trump campaign.

In the conversation, which Manigault Newman said was made in the days after she was fired from the White House, the president’s campaign aide and daughter-in-law offered Manigault Newman $15,000 per month to have a public role in the campaign. The tape aligns with what Manigault Newman wrote about in her new tell-all memoir, “Unhinged.”

In the book she writes that the Trump campaign contract would have required her to sign a non-disclosure agreement, but she refused.

In an interview with MSNBC, Manigault Newman said she saw the offer as hush money.

“Absolutely,” Manigault Newman said.

On the recording, which has not been independently verified by ABC News, the younger Trump appears to suggest campaign concerns about Manigault Newman disparaging her former employers.

"It sounds a little like, obviously, that there are some things you've got in the back pocket to pull out. Clearly, if you come on board the campaign, like, we can't have, we got to," she continues.

Manigault Newman interrupts her to respond, "Oh, God no."

“Everything, everybody positive, right?” Trump added.

Trump goes on, on the recording, to say that the money offered to Manigault Newman is public.

“All the money that we raise and that pays salaries is directly from donors, small-dollar donors for the most part," Trump said on the tape.

"So, I know you, you were making 179 at the White House," she said, referring to Manigault Newman's $179,000 annual salary. "And I think we can work something out where we keep you right along those lines."

"Specifically, let me see, I haven't even added up the numbers," Trump continued. "But we were talking about, like, 15K a month. Let me see what that adds up to. Times 12. Yeah. So that’s $180,000. Does that sound like, uh, a fair deal for you?”

(MORE: Omarosa Manigault addresses Trump arbitration filing in 'Daily Show' interview)
The former reality star shared four excerpts from a recorded conversation with Trump's daughter-in-law on MSNBC. The network said that their producers listened to the tape in its entirety to verify the context of the conversation.

Lara Trump responded in a statement calling the latest "bombshell tape" a "fraud."

“From the beginning of my father-in-law’s campaign, Omarosa was welcomed into our family as a trusted friend and confidant. On the Women for Trump tour, including Omarosa, we formed a sisterhood bond that is unlike any I have experienced in my life. We toured together, laughed together, and worked really hard towards a common goal. We never would have imagined that one of our own was secretly recording all of our private conversations," Trump said.

"When Omarosa was fired by the White House Chief of Staff in December of 2017, my entire family was concerned for her because we had no idea about the basis of her dismissal. We still wanted her on our team because we cared so much about her personally. That’s why I reached out to offer her a position with the 2020 Trump Campaign before we knew anything about the gross violations of ethics and integrity during her White House tenure. Another one of Omarosa’s ‘bombshell’ tapes is a fraud. The discussions about a position with the campaign took place in numerous phone calls over the course of several weeks. Woman to woman, I shared a connection with Omarosa as a friend and a campaign sister, and I am absolutely shocked and saddened by her betrayal and violation on a deeply personal level."

"I hope it’s all worth it for you, Omarosa, because some things you just can’t put a price on,” Trump added.

“”You have to have your own back, because otherwise you’ll look back and see 17 knives in your back.
It’s the latest incendiary audio to drop in Manigault Newman’s weeklong publicity tour for her tell-all book about life on the Trump campaign and in the West Wing, “Unhinged.”

The roll out of Manigault Newman’s book and some of her critical and unverified observations appear to have rattled the president. He called her a “crazed, crying lowlife” and a “dog” in a tweet.

On Tuesday morning, the Trump campaign filed an arbitration case against Manigault Newman in New York saying she violated her non-disclosure agreement.

In a statement, a senior Trump campaign official confirmed to ABC News that “Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. has filed an arbitration against Manigault-Newman with the American Arbitration Association in New York City, for breach of her 2016 confidentiality agreement with the Trump Campaign."

"President Trump is well known for giving people opportunities to advance in their careers and lives over the decades, but wrong is wrong, and a direct violation of an agreement must be addressed and the violator must be held accountable,” the statement said.

“Wacky Omarosa already has a fully signed Non-Disclosure Agreement!” the president declared in a tweet earlier this week.

The television-savvy Manigault Newman took a page straight out of Trump’s producer playbook and teased “plenty” of tapes to come.

“There are things that I am going to save to share when the time is right,” Manigault Newman said Wednesday on MSNBC.

“What does Donald Trump have to hide?” Manigault Newman said.

(MORE: WH press secretary: Can't offer 'guarantee' there is no N-word recording)
Her media blitz began on Sunday, when she appeared on “Meet the Press” and played a recording of a private conversation she had with Chief of Staff John Kelly in the Situation Room -- what it supposed to be the most secure area of the entire White House. Kelly was firing Manigault Newman, and she wanted to record the conversation to protect herself.

“You have to have your own back, because otherwise you’ll look back and see 17 knives in your back,” Manigault Newman said.

Some White House aides are concerned about just how many tapes Manigault Newman has – and what kinds of conversations she recorded.

“She terrified me,” a senior White House official told ABC News.

im wondering why Trump's ex casino exec would have a reason to lie about what Trump said. its word for word what PDR has said for the longest.

its pretty clear what Trump is, yet his supporters still support him.

old news.

PDF was right, of course, but then again, this has been a matter of public record for years.

When this D00D started his run in 2015, I was dumbfounded at the number of people who:

1. didn't know this crap about him
2. didn't mind this crap about him.

He's basically run his businesses like a 2nd tier Mafia boss since the 1970's. Hush money, dirty dealings, whoring around with mistresses, cheating business partners, using muscle to intimidate people who know his dirt... smdh. He's been a Page Six joke in Manhattan since the early 80's. Folks out here in corn country think that those people in Manhattan who hate/loathe/ridicule him are just liberal elites, bit I know better: they hate him because they know him. Better than anyone else. And in a town like Manhattan, a classless grifter from Queens is going to experience this:

Can't get deals in NYC (his own home town)
Shadied up (with the help of the kids) the most recent deal he got, which is sketchy af, and still under investigation (Trump SoHo)
Can't get loans from reputable banks
Can't get love
Can't get 'R-E-S-P-E-C-T' (RIP, Aretha).

1. For those who didn't know, but know it now (and are appalled), I said on 11/9/16: "There will be buyer's remorse."
2. For those who knew it and didn't mind, I say: "He's one of yours. You'll be forced to keep owning him when all this is over."
3. For those who didn't know it, and still don't mind: feel free to climb into Hillary's basket with the people in category 2... you'll feel perfectly at home with the company, and you're already used to the smell.

He's the kind of D00D My Pops had a pet saying for:
"Watch him around anything you own and love. He's as crooked as a dog's hind leg."

When character is the subject, the 'revelation' that he's a virulent, unrepentant racist should come as no surprise to any one. Comes with the package.

Str8-up cockroach.
Let's hope Mueller plays the Orkin Man... and sticks his 'magic wand' into every one of Trump's crevices, cracks and floorboards.

So far the biggest hit she seems to have is the one she smacking Trump with.

Neither can be trusted so I guess you'll just have to pick the liar you think serves you better. The only difference to this point is one of them has evidence, on tape. lol

Omarosa acted dishonorably by recording confidential White House conversations – but here’s the bigger problem

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2018/08/1...er-problem.html

Even if you strongly oppose President Trump and want to see him defeated in 2020 or impeached before then, you should hope his presidential campaign succeeds with its legal action against Omarosa Manigault Newman alleging she violated a nondisclosure agreement. And if she broke any laws you should want her prosecuted.

Manigault Newman – a fired presidential aide and earlier a member of the Trump campaign staff – has set a dangerous precedent by her secret recording of conversations with President Trump and White House and campaign aides. The New York Times reported Thursday that Manigault Newman “is believed to have as many as 200” recordings of such conversations.

If Manigault Newman suffers no penalty for making her secret recordings – and instead uses the recordings to boost sales of her virulently anti-Trump book “Unhinged,” as she is clearly doing now for maximum media exposure – future White House employees will be tempted to follow in her footsteps.

While it is common for White House staffers to write books about the president they served after he has left office, it is far less common to see books coming out while a president is still serving. Whether the disclosures and allegations in “Unhinged” violate the nondisclosure agreement Manigault Newman signed while working on the Trump campaign is a matter still to be determined.

And I know of no previous White House aides who secretly recorded conversations and then released them to the media. Further investigation is needed to determine if any of these recordings violated the law – and if they did, Manigault Newman deserves to be prosecuted.

There’s no question that Manigault Newman’s disclosures will hinder the ability of the current president, future presidents and their aides to candidly communicate.

The issue at stake here is good governance – not politics. If Hillary Clinton had been elected president in 2016 and her aide Huma Abedin secretly recorded conversations in the White House and released them, the action would be just as objectionable as what Manigault Newman did. However, you can bet that Democrats and the media would be far angrier at someone betraying a Democratic president.

So far, Manigault Newman has released recording of her conservations with President Trump, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, presidential daughter-in-law Lara Trump and staffers on the Trump campaign. Politico reports that “Manigault Newman has told friends and associates that she has tapes of private phone calls from first daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, according to two sources with whom she has discussed the recording.”

Manigault Newman recorded Kelly in the White House Situation Room when he fired her. Located in the White House basement, the Situation Room is run by the National Security Council. It is equipped with a secure communications system and used primarily for managing domestic and foreign crises.

Cellphones and other recording devices are not allowed in the Situation Room – a prohibition Manigault Newman ignored, by her own admission. Even if a staff members does not knowingly use a cellphone as a recording device, hostile forces can hack into the phone and turn on its microphone to transmit conversations that spies can record. This can pose a grave national security risk.

Now that White House officials know they’ve been secretly recorded, they – and staffers for future presidents – know they can be taped again, and that could have a very harmful chilling effect on their internal discussions.

Effective management of the White House – or any government office or business –requires frank discussions among all parties. Presidential advisers must feel free to share all information that can help a president assess the nature and severity of a problem, all possible options for dealing with it, and the political, social, and public relations ramifications of every possible action or non-action.

The president, in turn, must have confidence that these candid discussions will remain confidential. This is particularly true when it comes to national security and foreign policy threats, where leaks could endanger lives or severely damage our interests abroad.

No president – Democrat or Republican – should have to worry about secret recordings being made inside the White House. How important is it to preserve the confidentiality of presidential communications? Important enough that it is enshrined in the constitutional doctrine of executive privilege.

George Washington didn’t have to worry about recording devices. But he first asserted executive privilege in 1792 when Congress demanded internal White House documents about a failed military expedition. Most recently, executive privilege was reasserted by the Obama administration to deny Congress access to Justice Department documents regarding Operation Fast and Furious, a failed investigation of illegal gun trafficking.

In 1974, the U.S. Supreme Court discussed “the valid need for protection of communications between high Government officials and those who advise and assist them in the performance of their manifold duties” in U.S. v. Nixon, the seminal case on executive privilege. This was the case in which the Supreme Court ruled that President Nixon had to turn over tapes he secretly recorded of his Oval Office conversation.

While that ruling went against President Nixon, the high court said in its decision the importance of preserving confidentiality between the president and those he speaks with “is too plain to require further discussion. Human experience teaches that those who expect public dissemination of their remarks may well temper candor with a concern for appearances and for their own interests to the detriment of the decision-making process.”

The Supreme Court ruling went on to say: “The expectation of a President to the confidentiality of his conversations and correspondence … is the necessity for protection of the public interest in candid, objective, and even blunt or harsh opinions in Presidential decision-making. A President and those who assist him must be free to explore alternatives in the process of shaping policies and making decisions and to do so in a way many would be unwilling to express except privately. These are the considerations justifying a presumptive privilege for Presidential communications. The privilege is fundamental to the operation of Government and inextricably rooted in the separation of powers under the Constitution.”

Omarosa Manigault Newman acted dishonorably and dishonestly in secretly recording confidential White House conversations. But the far bigger problem with this kind of behavior is that it threatens the ability of any president to get the unfiltered information and robust debate among his advisers needed to reach the best possible decisions.

This violation of protocol and betrayal of trust is on par with the leaks from White House insiders that have come to plague all modern presidents. Future presidential candidates would be well-advised to require nondisclosure agreements from the individuals who assist them as part of their transition teams and who end up working in the White House.

The perils of modern technology – such as button and pen cameras – combined with Washington’s pervasive “leak culture,” leave would-be presidents little choice. Otherwise, the odds of them getting their advisers’ “candid, objective, and even blunt or harsh opinions” are close to nil. And it’s precisely that kind of input presidents need when making decisions about vital issues that affect the health, safety and prosperity of our nation and the American people.

She broke no laws and in D.C you only need one party to record.

The right is whining because she's starting to show a pattern of lies and corruption. So the usual suspects are whining per usual.

Lol NDA’s are unconstitutional in government positions. Then they tried to silence her with a bribe. It’s her first amendment right to blow the whistle on these jackasses. Enjoy!

Yeah, she's not a Trump employee. She gets paid by taxpayers, not Trump.

But people never learn these things when they rely on one news source.

Depending on one's opinions of Progressives, I'm not sure Cynthia is one to talk considering she suggested black folks be given first crack at marijuana dispensary licenses as a form of reparations. I even cringed when I heard that LOL

Makes me wonder why someone like Omarosa would have worked for him during the time she had in the private sector and went on to help get him elected?
