I doubt he would do this but it is something new for you to get your hair on fire about.

Obstruction of justice
Obstruction of justice is defined in the omnibus clause of 18 U.S.C. § 1503, which provides that "whoever . . . . corruptly or by threats or force, or by any threatening letter or communication, influences, obstructs, or impedes, or endeavors to influence, obstruct, or impede, the due administration of justice, shall be (guilty of an offense)." Persons are charged under this statute based on allegations that a defendant intended to intefere with an official proceeding, by doing things such as destroying evidence, or intefering with the duties of jurors or court officers.

Unless of course it is the President of the United States...
[the Constitution's Article II]

“[The] President cannot obstruct justice because he is the chief law enforcement officer under [the Constitution's Article II] and has every right to express his view of any case."

that defense worked wonders for Nixon, right?

Nixon and Clinton had articles of impeachment brought against them for obstruction!

Out of context quotes are misleading and make you present increasingly as one of dull intentions who can't be bothered to perform simple research. You can be better.

intent. bro. intent.

http://open.lib.umn.edu/criminallaw/chapter/4-2-criminal-intent/

which is applied in....a ton of cases.

so Trump pulling muellers clearance an in attempt to end the investigation, he will be royally screwed.

That's a heck of a pivot for you to move from arguing the president can't be impeached for obstruction to say we aren't talking about it, lol. But hey, you do you.

You have to prove intent. Do you read minds? Thought not.

The talking heads tried to say the intent with the Brennan deal was to shut up his critics, which the President dismissed saying he has given Brennan a more open platform from which to speak.

Brennan has been all over the news since.

Mark Warner to reveal amendment to ‘block’ Trump from ‘arbitrarily revoking security clearances’

Virginia Democratic Sen. Mark Warner on Friday said he plans to present an amendment preventing President Trump from “arbitrarily revoking security clearances.”

Warner’s announcement came after Trump earlier this week revoked the security clearance of former CIA Director John Brennan and hinted Friday that he would soon do the same for Department of Justice official Bruce Ohr.

“I will be introducing an amendment next week to block the President from punishing and intimidating his critics by arbitrarily revoking security clearances,” Warner tweeted. “Stay tuned.”

The amendment would be made to the defense appropriations bill, which is combined with a bill to fund the Departments of Labor and Health and Human Services, and is currently on the Senate floor, Fox News has learned.

Trump could fix this.

he could also yank the clearances of those who sing his praises on fox news and other outlets.

but you already heard what Chris Wallace said about it.

Former commander who oversaw Bin Laden raid asks Trump to revoke his security clearance

The former commander of the U.S. Joint Special Operations Command, who also oversaw the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, has a request for President Donald Trump: Revoke his security clearance.

Retired Navy Adm. William McRaven on Thursday wrote in an op-ed that he would “consider it an honor” to have his clearance revoked so that he could add his “name to the list of men and women who have spoken up against your presidency.”

The op-ed, which was published in The Washington Post, comes a day after the White House announced that it was revoking former CIA Director John Brennan’s clearance and reviewing those of a number of other former officials who have disagreed with the administration.

The White House is evaluating clearances for former FBI Director James Comey, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former National Security Agency Director Michael Hayden, former national security adviser Susan Rice, former FBI attorney Lisa Page, former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, former FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, whose security clearance was deactivated after he was fired earlier this year, and Bruce Ohr, who is still in the Justice Department.

The action against Brennan came as Trump continued to put pressure on special counsel Robert Mueller to end the Russia investigation, which the president has called a "witch hunt."

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Trump blamed Brennan for Mueller’s investigation, which last year began focusing on whether Trump’s campaign colluded with Moscow to influence the 2016 presidential election and has since widened to include possible obstruction of justice by Trump. Brennan, however, has been out of the government for 19 months.

Brennan and other intelligence officials met with Trump at Trump Tower days before his inauguration, and briefed him on evidence that the Russian government had sought to interfere in the election.

On Thursday, McRaven wrote that Brennan “is one of the finest public servants I have ever known.”

“Few Americans have done more to protect this country than John,” he wrote. “He is a man of unparalleled integrity, whose honesty and character have never been in question, except by those who don’t know him.”

The retired admiral wrote that he had hoped Trump would “rise to the occasion and become the leader this great nation needs.” Instead, McRaven, said Trump has failed to do so.

“Through your actions,” he wrote, “you have embarrassed us in the eyes of our children, humiliated us on the world stage and, worst of all, divided us as a nation.”

It appears that real patriots are lining up in opposition to 45*.

Scores of ex-spies join in rebuking Trump over security clearances

An avalanche of retired senior intelligence officials and spies have joined more than a dozen of their former bosses in issuing a public rebuke of President Donald Trump’s decision to revoke the security clearance of John Brennan, the ex-CIA chief who has become a strong critic of the president.

In a rare public campaign, a total of 60 former CIA station chiefs, analysts and operations officers — along with a former director of the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency and deputy director of the National Counterterrorism Center — declared on Friday afternoon their “firm belief that the country will be weakened if there is a political litmus test applied before seasoned experts are allowed to share their views.”

“We believe equally strongly that former government officials have the right to express their unclassified views on what they see as critical national security issues without fear of being punished for doing so,” they added in a brief statement.

The statement follows a similar one issued late Thursday by 11 former directors and deputy directors of the CIA and one director of national intelligence. They served in Democratic and Republican administrations, and decried the removal of the security clearance “as a political tool.”

The back-to-back statements also follow a blistering op-ed by retired Navy Adm. William McRaven, who, in an act of solidarity with Brennan, appealed to Trump to revoke his security clearance, as well.

Bill Harlow, a former CIA spokesman who helped coordinate the pair of statements from former officials, said on Friday that “in the process of putting out the first letter, we heard from a lot of people who were not directors of agencies but wanted to know, ‘How do we get in, as well?’”

Harlow called it exceedingly rare for intelligence professionals who spent most of their careers in the shadows and who shy away from politically charged public disputes to insert themselves so directly.

“There have been one or two other times where I recall a bunch of people speaking out, but not in this number and not at this speed,” Harlow told POLITICO. “They are trying to speak out against politicizing national security and security clearances. This is not about a person. It is about the practice of trying to regulate speech by former officials by tinkering with their security clearances.”

“There are rules and regulations under which circumstances they should be removed,” he added. “None say they should be removed if the holder of the security clearance annoys the president.”

In his first live TV appearance since being stripped of his security clearance, Brennan told MSNBC on Friday that the president's move was "an egregious act" that "flies in the face of traditional practice, as well as common sense, as well as national security."

Brennan said it was for those reasons, and not professional solidarity, that so many former members of America's intelligence apparatus felt compelled to speak out.

"I think that's why there's been such an outcry from many intelligence professionals," he said. "Not to support me, but to support the principle that security clearances are something that's very, very solemn and sacred, and they never, ever should be used for political purposes — either to grant friends those clearances or to revoke clearances of your critics."

Trump hit back at Brennan on Twitter on Saturday, writing: "Has anyone looked at the mistakes that John Brennan made while serving as CIA Director? He will go down as easily the WORST in history & since getting out, he has become nothing less than a loudmouth, partisan, political hack who cannot be trusted with the secrets to our country!"

After Brennan’s security clearance was revoked earlier this week, the White House said the former CIA chief was being punished because he “leveraged his status as a former high-ranking official with access to highly sensitive information to make a series of unfounded and outrageous allegations — wild outbursts on the internet and television — about this administration.”

Just ask the men in the field under Brennan...

Kris “Tanto” Paronto, who was part of the CIA team that fought back during the 2012 terror attack in Benghazi, Libya, said Brennan got what he deserved.

“He is lucky the security clearance is all he is getting away with,” Paronto told Fox News in an interview on Friday. He had previously accused Brennan of putting his politics before those in the field.

“We come back from being on the ground to be treated as a second-class citizen. You come back and you’re called a liar,” Paronto said. “Brennan came in and there was no talk of ‘Hey, good job guys,’ not that you look for it, but instead, it was ‘Don’t say anything guys, we don’t want the truth to get out.’”

Why should FBI and DOJ officials keep their security clearance when they're fired or caught leaking? Of course they should lose their clearance.
