Someone please correct if/where i’m Wrong .... i just want to make sure i understand ...
So ...
- in 2009 cops are called for at least one domestic violence call to the Smith residence ... Urban finds out and the result is he goes to counseling ....
- in 2015 theres multiple visits to the smith house on domestic abuse claims ... no charges filed and Urban never finds it about them ... IS THAT THE STORY, IS THAT CORRECT?
- Sometime this summer ... Zach had a restraining order filed against him from his ex ...
That prompted his firing ...
Now Urban and Smith are getting suspended for not reporting the 2015 incidents up the chain of command ...
IS THAT CORRECT? .. is there more that i’m missing ... i just wanna make sure i understand the timeline and stories here ...
PLEASE HELP ME FILL IN THE BLANKS ...

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Him and Gene Smith knew about the 2015 incident and didn't report it. They used the police to conduct the investigation and that's why they are getting punished.

I think it is wrong to punish people due to allegations. I see nothing wrong w/allowing the police to determine the guilt or innocence of the accused.
I also think a position should be created at universities to investigate situations that arise off the field, court, etc. Remove the coaches, AD, and other administrators from the process.

I turned on ESPN's "Get UP" (I never watch the show .. I think it's really bad) and Michelle Beadle was literally eviscerating Urban Meyer.
I don't know how much of her words were warranted or not warranted, but it angered me. This is not all Urban Meyer's fault IMO.

Through all of this I noticed how much the cuck liberal media bias has invaded sports writers. Fire a man for an assistant coach being an idiot and allegedly hitting his wife....who is clearly a nut case.
So I guess I should be fired if I find out one of my employees had domestic violence issues.....at home, on his own time and I didn't fire him?
We have gotten to the point where a mere allegation and the media tries to ruin your life.....an allegation of something one of your employees did can get you fired?
utter nonsense.

There’s a lot of inconsistencies in this story ... lots of things dont add up .. Oh well ... the outcome was predictable regardless of innocence or guilt ... I caught ESPN "breaking" the story, "literally only minutes before." ESPN already had a negative announcer making the decision sound criminal, and a second individual carried on, sounded butt-hurt because Meyer wasn't fired. And carried on at some length that he should have received re-instatement with no penalty or been fired. And he righteously proclaimed that he would need to see what the red line was and how they could arrive at a punishment that didn't fire the coach like he thought should happen. The original announcer screwed up the Smith and Meyer disciplines to the point of babble. All this before the interview coming with the affected people. This isn't news reporting. This is torches and pitchforks looking for an excuse to run riotously amok. This line of indignant diatribe has continued.
I said earlier in a forum that I do not believe every incident is a firing offense. This is one. Discipline is about changing behavior. I think that will result here. ESPN hanse reason to feel or believe that it has a stake or place in this situation. It just short circuits a chance to put on the agony for their own benefit and ineptitude. So much easier to manufacture news than cover it. Emotional bias throughout this. Meyer has no side in it.

I agree allegations are just that, allegations. However, he still should have reported the allegations. THAT is why he is being suspended, not for not firing Smith, but for not doing anything about it.

there were reports all day that the majority of the board and Urban were strongly against suspension ... they felt it was conceding that "something" incorrect happened procedurally and OSU was culpable.
The president wanted the PR and was firm on it. If true, total horsebleep. If I'm Urban, I'd want to quit and take a job in the Big10 to stick it to OSU every year. Either I did something wrong or I didn't, don't punish me because of how the media will react. I don't know all the details. Maybe he could have been more proactive about getting help to the couple in question. From what I read on here, they had a toxic relationship and both were jerks. Oh well. I'm ready for football to be played and all this offseason nonsense to be over.

Hopefully Urban Meyer doesn't have temporary memory loss during the middle of a game this season. . .

lol Urban would be near unhirable. Tennessee students killed Schiano over possibly knowing about Sandusky. I doubt he'd ever want another coaching job.

I'm bothered by the report that all texts on Urban's phone older than a year were deleted before handing over his phone.

You'd be really disappointed by my phone, then ... because I delete texts, generally, once that conversation is over. lol I see no need to keep texts, any more than I would feel the need to record a conversation.

I never keep texts older than a few days; I don't like the clutter.
I'm not saying that's what his deal is, but personally that's what I do.

The point here is Meyer's "first reaction to a negative media piece exposing his knowledge of the 2015 investigation" was how to delete his text messages older than a year. So, just bad timing on Meyer's part? He just happened to express interest in text deletion AT THE EXACT TIME he become of aware of a media piece exposing his knowledge? Really?

You come to a board full of Ohio State fans and gloat about a suspension that we find unfair.

Yep, but the top 5 schools wouldn't have him. He could go to a P5 conference, but it wouldn't be at the premier school. But yes, we all have problematic favorites no matter what their offense is. I think Woody Allen is a great story teller. I think R. Kelly can sing. The point is that we can't mythologize these people, and try to hold them accountable. of course Urban is nothing like the other two. His 'crime' was an administrative oversight, nothing criminal nor malicious.
