Turned on ESPN for the first time in weeks and they're really out for Urban's blood. I'm watching Kellerman and Cain do it, so it's even more ironic, considering who they are. That said, they are acting like ESPN has no culpability for covering for Urban at Florida. That's their turf. Everyone knew that Florida was a crap show, and they refused to cover any of this. Their media bias is so evident it's disgusting.

They couldn't determine if that was the case, just that the coaches talked about it. I would assume he has always had them on since he's a college football recruiter, runs a team of 100 or so guys, and is a sociable guy, and receives and sends a lot of texts throughout the day.

I have been boycotting ESPN since the night of the announcement due their biased and unethical reporting of this case.

I will watch live games on their network, but I will no longer watch any of their shows or use their apps.

so you're not actually boycotting espn.

Well, he is boycotting BSpn. Their ratings for sports are what they are. The sports sell themselves. If they would just get back to being an actual sports network and not a b.s. agenda-based gossip-fest-free-for-all, most sports fan would be much happier.

Can anyone speak to the credibility of Courtney Smith’s mother? Is it rare for the mother, of an alleged abuse victim, to speak out against her daughter like that? Why are Courtney Smith and her mother “estranged”?

Is there an impending trial/charges coming against Zach Smith?

I feel like this investigation was rushed, I’m not going to make any definite judgements on this matter for the time being, but with the current information in front us, 3 game suspension was not enough of a penalty.

Speak for yourself. I am an Ohio State fan(but admittedly after working at another university that has had to play OSU, not as much as I was growing up)and I think it was fair, and I also think Meyer is a slimeball and I always have and that is not going to change just because he was hired as OSUs coach and has won, a lot .

That's fine. However, I don't think the punishment was fair. I don't believe in punishing a man just because it's popular in the court of public opinion.

I dont disagree, but when dealing with a public figure, a guy who is one of the faces of your organization, perception is huge. The last thing OSU wants is the perception of allowing DV to take place in their organization. If it was anyone besides Urban Meyer they probably would have just fired him and washed their hands of it. DV is just one of those issues an employer does not want to be involved with in any way.

Similar situation at Colorado University last year, head coach payed $100,000 towards women of domestic violence foundations. If that is the precedent, Urban better bring $500,000

That is just your opinion. You are entitled to it.

There is NO proof that Courtney Smith was abused. She may have been. She may just be the vindictive person that both her mother and mother-in-law described.

What I do know is this.............Urban should not have fired Zach Smith due to allegations. I am a proponent of allowing the legal system to play out before making decisions that will forever alter multiple lives. Firing people for an allegation is ignorant and cowardly.

so Urban concedes and makes the Twitter post apologizing to Courtney Smith ... IMO the media has gone way too far the other way

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

The story here is that The Ohio State University president is an ultra liberal gutless wonder who places more emphasis on biased perceived social justice than on reality .

Michael Drake

Looks to me like the Ohio State haters are going to be getting their wish.

If I was Urban Meyer, I’d take my talents elsewhere.

Things are looking bad for Buckeye fans.

I heard that the Committee actually recommended that Urban be reinstated immediately with a reprimand and time served but Drake wouldn't budge on the 3 game suspension and that Urban was furious about the suspension and that is what caused the meeting to take so long.

So let me get my Scarlet and Grey goggles on here...

During practice on August 1st, Coach Meyer becomes aware of some negative media regarding his knowledge of the 2015 incident. At this point he asks a coach how to delete old emails.

Even with my Scarlet and Grey goggles on, I cannot see how this isn't sketchy.

The Buckeyes are 38 point favorites against Oregon State Beavers next Saturday.

Why even bother?

The point remains. Why should Urban have fired Smith due to allegations? Why would he not rely on the police? I have a huge problem w/people being punished before a trial occurs.

Because the police don't always do a good job and schools should investigate the people who they allow around minors/students.

Are they thumping Meyer for something illegal they suspect he did or because he didn’t follow a school policy or code of conduct?

Of course, the media and fans are much better judges than the police and the court system.

So assume they won't do their job and fire them on the spot before they even have a chance... makes sense.

I read the report and they refer to how "honest" was throughout the process. There were also things in there where they said they didn't believe him. Kinda weird.

Here is the bottom line in my mind. Urban was wrongly suspended because Drake knew the university would be vilified if they handled the case fairly and reinstated Urban.

I think that was dumb because the idiotic media is still chastising both OSU and Urban.

I didn't click on it because I refuse to add to their "click" total, but I saw a headline on Yahoo this morning that had "Urban Liar" in the title. The media is despicable.

It appears to me the school is the determining body on what is proper or not, for whatever their reasons, on the conduct of their head coach. The head coach also appears to have accepted this punishment as he followed with a direct apology to Smith’s wife. While obvious this apology was orchestrated by board, Meyer is willingly doing the dance. A three game vacation against less than worthy opponents is a slap on the wrist.

Yeah right.

Go back to the Michigan Board.

But listen, Jim Harbaugh can't lose every game he every coaches against the Buckeyes.

Or can he?

Why don't you put your goggles on and troll the Wisconsin Board? The Badgers are supposed to be real good this year.

I think you are making good points, and people just kind of dont want to hear it because they are biased because of their love for the Bucks.

Which I dont blame anyone for, thats natural and normal.Dude wins, and if I learned anything in my time involved with college athletics is that winning cures just about anything .
