Yeah, cause hes going to come out and say "my boss is an idiot, and I am here to take his job?
he is a professional, hes going to say what he needs to say. His actions and words when he is not giving an interview TO ME say differently.
I knew you would come back w/something like that. LOL
Did you miss the part when he said not all coaches are willing to hear from their assistants? Did he say that to be politically correct?
Regarding his comment about practice, I thought it was obvious that it was a shot at Gregg Williams, not Hue.
It's unfortunate that a handful of you poison every thread w/your relentless attacks on Hue. These episodes have been great and it's very obvious that Hue is doing a great job, but several of you gotta keep nit-picking and turning what should be a fun thread into something very different.
The episode was great. I'm glad the o-linemen are getting shown more. Carl's clap backs were hilarious, "Alright, Toad." You know who thought about that for awhile and thinks it's super clever and is very proud in that fact. It's endearing. Then again, I've always loved the Nassib pick. I really hope Brobie stays around for game 4. Although, I bet he'll get on the practice squad. He seems like a nice fool to have around.
You can see why the players love Hue, he’s fair….I get why people want to bash the team for being undisciplined but we can’t act like this roster is chalk full of veterans…..it’s not, young guys make mistakes.
Landry’s aggro male nature is something this team has been missing since forever.
Christian Kirksey is the heart and soul of the team.
Dez Bryant comes off as extremely dumb.
The Browns fan/conspiracy theorist in me thinks that the NFL is going to call a LOT more WR blocking downfield this year…..the steelers knew it, which is why they let Haley go because his offense is predicated on it. Maybe somewhere in between?
Carl Nassib is fighting for a roster spot…..he has been too weak at the POA to play consistently the past few seasons.
More of the same from Nate Orchard, he is probably getting cut.
How does Brad Paisley call himself a fan and not know who Joel Bitonio is?
Todd Haley on penalties: That's how we practice, that's what we deserve
I have a feeling Haley is not exactly behind Hue's way of coaching.
You do realize that the man responsible for how the team practices are the coordinators, right?
Hue is the ultimate responsible party, of course, but the guy who is responsible for practices, and how the team practices, is Haley himself.
I am sure that his comment was about his own charges. He wants the offense to play better, and he is going to stay on them in order to get them to do so.
I don't see it as a slam on Hue in any way.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
vers mentioned Njoku and I thought that too ... he seems REALLY nice and caring, maybe the nicest guy on the team (at least how it's portrayed)
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."
Yeah, he's always smiling, encouraging guys, and interacting w/others. He is also really cool to the guys who probably won't make the team. I never pictured him that way, but it's pretty evident now.
I really like the show. I think it's well done. I also think it's painting the Browns in a good light. Yes, not everything is running perfectly, but anyone who has participated in competitive team sports knows that camps are full of ups and downs. There's going to be conflicts, fights, disagreements, mistakes, etc. But, I think the overall picture is one that portrays the team in a very positive light.
Btw---------the facility in Berea is gleaming. Very impressive.

Relentless attacks on Hue? WTH are you talking about? I literally just outlined some damn good traits he has.
But its pretty clear that his record means nothing to you, HE OWNS THAT. He is 8-39 I believe as a HC, 1-31 as the Browns HC.
I want what's best for the Browns, not what's best for Hue. Is 1 win whats best for the browns, asking for a friend?
I love the show! But then again I always have. More now that the Browns are on it of course. lol
My biggest question I have after watching the show is this......
How in the hell does Bob Wylie get in and out of that Maserati?
I believe the way the coaching staff is set up is about as perfect as you can get. Both Haley and Williams are real hard asses. Hue plays the fair but firm role. "Good cop/bad cop" has been around since forever for a reason.
The only thing I would caution fans on is what this show does every season. They actually put teams in the best possible light. They put the human factor in the forefront. It gives you that personal view of the players, sometimes their friends and family. It gives you that connection to the players that few Browns fans would have otherwise.
The result can be unrealistic expectations. I mean, after watching the show last year I could have sworn the Buccaneers were playoff bound! lol
I'm glad they are covering the Browns this year. I love the insight it gives us no matter the fact I know it's edited so that we only see what they want us to see. We get the drama I see on the show every year where they give you the human interest stories on players who will be cut or just squeak on to the roster. Just like Cajuste. Expect more of that in the next couple of episodes.
On a personal note, While I love the show I refuse to let it change my expectations of the team. I've learned my lesson about that from watching the show during other seasons.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
Sorry bro, your 1-31 - how has resting players worked out so far. ill give you a hint, it has worked out to 1 win.
That's your presumptions that aren't based on facts. This isn't something that was done before this season. It was done because soft tissue injuries have been a problem ever since Hue has been here.
As has been stated, he listened to the analytics department and has tried this to reduce soft tissue injuries. So far it's worked well.
I mean basing your comments on raw emotion is one thing, but don't let facts get in the way of a good rant.

Not when the HC is saying - "this guy needs a day off, this guy needs a day off, your pushing him too hard"

And a guy sitting on the sidelines, unable to play, does your team zero good.
Teams can develop chemistry, and learn, while also taking care not to get guys hurt.
I look at a guy like Kevin Zeittler. How much chemistry is he creating while sitting on the sideline on a bike? He pulled a calf muscle, and he's going to miss most of the preseason, at least.
Antonio Callaway has missed time with an injury. He's a guy we look to be counting on, yet he's hurt.
Fells also has missed time with an injury.
Like it or not, this is football, and guys get hurt. If you can mitigate some of the risk by having a guy sit out a practice during that 1st week or 2 of training camp, then I don't have a problem with that. The team had 9 days of practices in the 1st 10 days of training camp. A handful of players missing one physical practice is not going to blow things up. A guy missing all of camp because of an injury could.
Go look at the Steelers last year, and all of the soft tissue injuries they had early in camp last year. Compare that list with ours. We need guys who will be on the field for all 16 games, if possible. Managing risk in camp is a part of making this happen.

Resting players is injury prevention. Less injuries is a good thing. I’m with Hue Jackson and the training staff (whose job it is to keep players healthy) on this one.
We'll see how much swagger he has when he plays in a real game. Baker is definitely "one of the guys" but is he THE guy.....we will see.
Myles Garret walks around like he doesn't need to prove himself, he is that good and he's only in his 2nd year. The guy can be a bendier version of Everson Griffin, which would be outstanding.
Garrett's demeanor and persona reminds me of the "Quiet Storm" Courtney Brown. Maybe I didn't pay attention much, but I was shocked (and excited) to hear him drop the F bomb

You mean the team that physically dominates us year in a year out, and under Tomlin has had the second best record in the NFL behind only BB? The year in and year out division leaders, playoff bound, and former superbowl winning Steelers?
Thanks for making my argument for me.
The point is, if we had a team that was established and a different culture, I would be ok with them resting. But we don't. We have losing culture here that needs changed.
Yeah, I see you ignored the real point in all of this. You claimed this is what we've done that helped us get to 1-31 yet it just started this year. lmao

It's just entertaining to see all that goes on inside a team.
It is very cool to have the Browns as the subject especially this year.
Not going to get into the Hue stuff. He is our head coach and I am glad he is.
Just watching the action and the players. The film crew was quoted as saying that this is most serious sessions they have covered.
Trying to read the team personality. I get the sense that the overall vibe is very positive. It was interesting listening to Kendrick's comment about team talent.
I am optimistic about the Browns. Lot of guys on the team that I like a lot.
Been impressed by Mayfield as a leader and player.
Yeah, I see you ignored the real point in all of this. You claimed this is what we've done that helped us get to 1-31 yet it just started this year. lmao
how long has hue been running the practices? longer than this year.

Didn't we lose Myles Garret for 6 games last camp?

Yes, but that was because he got stepped on (and it was four games).
The managed days off have been happening since Hue Jackson was hired (even Pettine did them).
This is from last year:
Quote:
Managed Days Off: The managed days off are being extended to even more veterans, even those who haven’t really been with the club that long. Monday’s list of players sitting out included RB Duke Johnson, WR James Wright, TE Seth DeValve, C J.C. Tretter, RG Kevin Zeitler, OL Matt McCants, DE Desmond Bryant, OLB Jamie Collins, MLB Tank Carder, and CB Jamar Taylor.
People that don't understand or appreciate the importance and need of planned rest & recovery simply do not know, understand, or appreciate the realities of intense sustained athletic training.
These guys have a LONG grind of a season ahead of them where they will get knocked apart on a regular basis. Now, in preseason, is not the time to give in to some ridiculous notion of "tough guy". You don't take it easy, and you don't let them be soft, but you don't get stupid with your decisions, either. Being proactive is SMART. Period.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.
I figured there'd be more Corey Coleman drama, but it showed Hue hugging him before the Bill's game. Which is cool because you'd think Corey or Hue or both would hold a "grudge" or something. Tells me a lot of Hue.
Actually seeing and hearing Hue reveals to me, as someone stated in the earlier pages, the reason why he never lost the team.
Other snippets:
I love the dog is able to just roam around, enter offices and etc. Moose on the loose! LOL!
Nate Orchard played WORSE than I thought and Hard Knocks revealed it. Might be seeing him cut on camera.
Kirko is the leader on D. Kirko doen't receive 1/4 of the credit he deserves.
Jarvis is a guy who has a lot of fire under him... and I freaking love it. Got paid and clearly hasn't slacked.

Agreed on Orchard ... i didnt realize he was THAT bad
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."
Fun #BobWiley fact, he flew Navy jets in Vietnam and has a bunch of aircraft carrier landings to his name. He’s still a pilot and flies his private jet in the offseason.
Philly was the best team last year not because of having the best talent, but because we were the best overall unit in football. How else would a team beat the Patriots? Here at the Browns, we have the capabilities to be an even better team because of the natural raw talent here!
Maybe, just maybe... @HBO's #HardKnocks will show the rest of the speech I was giving to the team. By showing the full message, perhaps it would give more clarity to my opinions. Placing the entire message I was trying to give in full context will show why, "it's not funny."

I am perfectly ok with veteran days off, ala joe t, zeitler, etc. I am not ok with the low intensity practices, and days off for guys that need the work - ala last year our VERY YOUNG and VERY RAW Wr group. Lets face it, we have a young team, and that team needs reps.

I kind of have a different take on Orchard. I am looking at it that AT LEAST HE IS GETTING THERE! We have had 0 pass rush for how many years, hes at least getting to the QB and rushing him. That's a plus!
Now we just need to coach him up on getting the QB. He absolutely has talent, I think its a mental thing and just needs coached up. I have hopes for him.
Speaking of Orchard, I thought it was rather telling during the episode when he walked past coach Williams and said "coach, I'm trying". The response was "I know you are man, I know you are."
Maybe Gregg Williams is the scream-in-your-faces as a team type guy but much more civilized on an individual basis. If true, I feel a lot better about the guy.

He is/was disrupting the QB and making him move around, I see your points there for sure, but he got there more than a few times and picked a bad angle, lost balance and etc. He's a rusher and should know how to finish.
Plus, he's not done much since being drafted. For depth, we may have younger options to hang hope on/acquire better results.
