It says that it's involving the Cohen case, but I don't understand that. I mean, Cohen pled guilty,, so what else can they really do to the guy unless he lied.

Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg gets immunity

Allen Weisselberg, longtime chief financial officer for the Trump organization, has been granted immunity by federal prosecutors for providing information about Michael Cohen, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Between the lines: This is a very significant story that’s already causing waves in the legal circles around the White House.

Why it matters: Unlike Cohen, who was involved in quixotic projects and sleazy side deals to hush up women, Weisselberg has true and deep visibility into the Trump Organization. Trumpworld’s greatest fear is that SDNY investigators start prying deeper into the president’s business affairs. Trump can’t shut down such an investigation by firing Robert Mueller. This one’s out of his hands.

The bottom line: If there are any fishy payments for any purpose going back decades, Weisselberg would know about them. That’s why Trumpworld is on high alert about this. Concerned texts are flying around now from sources in the President’s orbit.

The Trump Foundation's treasurer didn't know he was treasurer until investigators told him

Alan Weisselberg seemed to know he was the Trump Organization's CFO. But he could've listed another job on his resume, and he didn't even know it.

President Trump's longtime loyalist is also listed as the Donald J. Trump Foundation's treasurer, which would've held him accountable in a new lawsuit filed by the New York attorney general Thursday accusing the nonprofit of illicit spending. But Weisselberg wasn't aware of his position until a New York state investigator told him, The Washington Post reports.

New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood alleges in the lawsuit that, based on two years of investigation sparked by a Post investigation, the foundation was benefiting the Trump family instead of the public.

But first, Weisselberg told an investigator there wasn't a policy determining how the nonprofit spent its money, per the Post. The investigator then asked if Weisselberg knew he's been on the Trump Foundation's board for over a decade. He didn't.

He's not going down for Trump. The Trump family used his name on the foundation without him knowing and it looks like they (Trump and his 3 oldest kids) broke the law on a regular basis in managing the Foundation.

One of the reasons is that the Trump team could make out that Cohen isn't a very good witness as he has lied, pleaded guilty.
However, Cohen wasn't just a coffee boy and he had lots of evidence that could corroborate any testimony.
And Weisselberg, he worked for Trump Org for decades, worked for Trumps father. He knows were all the financial bodies are buried, the business deals and finances, he knows Trumps net worth, he did Trumps taxes for some years.

Weisselberg just found out after being told by investigators that he was the treasurer for the Trump foundation and was on the board of directors for 10 years. He had no clue. I would assume that the state/feds are looking at Trump and his kids for running a sham foundation and then all the other irregular business dealings

I don't think Cohen lied,, he provided lots of documentation to prove his guilt and the guilt of others (probably trump, but he's not been actually named)
