3 yrs 17.5, just less than 9 guaranteed. It's not my money folks I can't tell them what to do; But if he WERE signed, what do you think the numbers would read?

Late summer signing, no other options. Other players at his position signed similar contracts earlier in the off-season.

Not intended to hijack this thread but I don't think it deserves its own thread. Reports are that the Browns made a low ball offer to Dez Bryant. If Dorsey wants Dez then the offer should have been better. The report I saw didn't mention a specific amount. Just says less than $5 mill. Maybe this is common practice in contract negotiations. I don't know, to me, that seems disrespectful. PFT report How much does Dez Bryant think he is worth? He's a 29 year old wide receiver coming off his worst season and there are well founded concerns over his character and work ethic. Next. It's more a matter of what I think Dez is worth. If I were Dez and this was the only offer on the table I'd wait until the inevitable injury in a WR corp elsewhere. If Dorsey doesn't want to sign him it would make more sense to just not offer him at all. For me, there is no question he has more value than Pryor who we offered $8mil. He isn't the same player he was 5 years ago but he can still play the position. My evaluation of his reputation is that his problems, and yes he has had problems are overstated.

I know that Sashi offered Pryor 8 mil, I do not know what Dorsey offered him this past year, if anything. I think Pryor got a 4.5 mil dollar contract with 3 mil guaranteed from the Jets.

GUARD...
I'd just like to add that what we offered Pryor (who I think is worth = money to Dez at this point) was during free agency. Not 2 weeks before showtime. The value of any FA signing just before opening day HAS to be less, because you are getting less of a contributor. Less experience with the system, less practice time with the QB. Even less time to settle into the city and get a routine going....as much as we'd love players to be robots, they're people, and any signee will have to settle into a new routine in a new city with new peers and new bosses. Maybe you're better than me, but I have never hit my stride in a new job in 2 week, and that's without a new city being a factor.
Browns fans are born with it...

Dez turned down 3yrs, 21mil from Ravens if I remember correctly...
So much for Josh working his tail off while absent...
I am not sure if anyone else noticed during the game against the Eagles, but at one point they put the camera on Gordon...man, I don't know, but what I saw was a guy who looked extremely uncomfortable and nervous sitting there on the sidelines...he kept playing with his gum or seeds in his mouth...I think some of you guys are right, Josh looks like he just cannot handle the pressure...hope, I am wrong.

Tightness in his hamstring = being out of shape ... ... If he hasn't even practiced yet, yeah its a small concern. Maybe that guy pushed him too hard when we saw him practicing on hard knocks lol

I think the Brown's receiving corp can be fine without Dez. But putting myself in Dez's shoes, I don't take the Browns offer. I bet on myself and wait.

If we don't sign Dez, I sure hope Gordon can play all year. I agree w/Sun...............those shots of Josh on the sideline looked weird the other night.

Happy to have Josh back. Baby steps, but hopefully the suspension theories can be put aside. At the end of the day: He can help this football team, and he's here.
Hopefully the hamstring issues aren't any major. Part of me thinks it's just protection; Part Josh not yet being in football shape, part Hue/Todd not wanting to thrust him out there in the final preseason game before he establishes a little bit of chemistry with the quarterbacks.
Hopefully he'll be good to go by the regular season. Josh already appears to be in great shape, so he's got a little over two weeks to get where he needs to be. Perhaps best of all, he's not an immediate need. It seems the Browns have plenty of receiving options between Duke, Njoku, Landry, Higgins and Callaway that can tide us over for another week or two.
I doubt it takes that long, however. I'd expect him full go for the season opener.

Tightness in his hamstring = being out of shape ... ... In the presser, Hue said he hurt it lifting, not running.

whether contrived, circumstantial, bad luck, self-inflicted, etc ... nothing in JG's life or career is normal or easy

So much for the posters saying he failed another test or the NFL looked the other way to do Gordon a solid And so much for those who claimed the NFL didn't have to okay his return before he could practice.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I think the term many used was "reinstated". He did not need "reinstated", as he was not suspended. Yes they had to clear him to play, but that is a formality, not due to some suspension.

j/c: This board is amazing at times. Consider: --Hue's mom dies and one hour after finding out the news, Hue is vigorously coaching his team. Yet, he is called weak and fake. --Denzell Ward get trashed for making a tackle because he "wrapped up the guy he was tackling. --Josh Gordon skips out on TC and has been suspended more often than not and he is defended vigorously.

I thought the criticism of Ward came from his coach? Maybe I missed a post or two

That wasn't a fact. While his coach did get on his ass, guys 4Life have repeatedly dissed Ward. That is a fact. You can also go to the other thread and read how we should have taken Chubb and bets about who will or will not be an all-pro. Btw........it's spelled "board," rather than "bored." I am feeling the latter right now. Bye for now.

Gordon's main talent, unfortunately, if for being suspended. Let's not brag too much on him until we actually see him on the field week 1.

I don't see that as disrespectful, when he has had no other visits, and when he would be our 3rd-5th receiver, depending on how the young guys here do. Completely agree... at best he's our third WR and has zero offers... five million is pretty damn good... if he doesn't want it no big deal..

That's fine. Don't need him as a 'starter'; we need him there as a player and contributor.
