Yeah, the last six weeks (or whatever it was) he had to have gotten paid

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2791...ld-support-case

These 2 articles would lead me to believe the child support wasn't court ordered until July of this year.

However, back in Sept. of 2016, a warrant was issued for him due to his not showing up in court under subpoena. (note, in the article: The warrant wasn't for not paying, it was for not showing up to court)

http://www.cleveland19.com/story/3890121...d-support-order

Now, what transpired from Sept. of 2016 to the appearance in court and dna test in July of 2018, I don't know.

I sure hope he got a good plea deal .....

Former Browns linebacker Mychal Kendricks pleads guilty to insider trading | cleveland.com
https://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2018/09/former_browns_linebacker_mycha.html#incart_2box

BEREA, Ohio -- Former Browns linebacker Mychal Kendricks pleaded guilty to insider trading charges on Thurdsay afternoon. He was charged last week, along with his friend, Damilare Sonoiki, a Harvard-educated analyst for Goldman Sachs who's currently a writer for the ABC hit sitcom "Black-ish."

Kendricks was released by the Browns Aug. 29.

According to Philly.com:

"U.S. District Judge Gene E.K. Pratter asked Kendricks why he was pleading guilty.

"'Because I know I was wrong," he said. "I know that I made the decision to accept information, secret information, and it wasn't the right thing to do.'

"The judge said she wanted to be sure that Kendricks was not coerced into making his decision to plead guilty.

"'I'm making the decision because it's the right thing to do,' he said."

Kendricks could face up to 25 years in prison.

4-6 in a minimum security would be a good deal. Good behavior, you might be out in 28 months.

Mychal Kendricks - LB - Free Agent

Free agent LB Mychal Kendricks visited the Seahawks on Thursday.

The Seahawks are thin at linebacker as they deal with injuries. Kendricks recently pled guilty to federal charges of insider trading and faces up to 25 years in prison. The Seahawks aren't concerned about that as they look for short-term fixes during K.J. Wright's absence.

I thought we jumped the gun on letting him go. Don't know why he'd get 25 years, Martha only got 5 months and she lied about it.

The only thing i know is that this is NOT HELPING ME GET OVER IT ...

I don’t understand at all ... NOT ONE BIT ...

This dude can play ... Dorsey has loaded our roster with folks that have done a lot worse things than this or “lying” to him .. MUCH WORSE ...

Yet according to the statement we released he was released cause he LIED TO THE TEAM ... a team with John “gimme footballers who cares about CHARACTER” Dorsey cutting someone for MORAL REASONS is RICH ...

There’s no way they could not have moved sentancing back ... NO WAY ...

Damm it .. this isn’t he;ping me get over this .. *L* ...

I don't think we jumped the gun.

Kendricks would have 1 year with us. That's it. I'd rather give that time to someone else who will be here for the long haul. The move helps grow our younger players.

I agree in theory, but we sorely miss his athleticism. Nobody else on our roster can cover like him AND pass rush. His versatility might be the difference between managing Kamara, Mixon, Collins, etc.

We didn't jump the gun at all. When he goes to prison, and the sports shows keep talking about it, he'll now be known as "Former Seahawk" rather than "Former Brown". tongue

Would’ve been nice to keep dude on the team. Now he just signed with the Seahawks.

Of all the real stuff to kick players off the team over (domestic violence, drug, PEDs) it still boggles my mind we cut a guy over insider trading.

Mychal Kendricks suspended by NFL for insider trading, will play until ruling on appeal

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/24695...s-ruling-appeal

The NFL has suspended new Seattle Seahawks linebacker Mychal Kendricks, but the suspension has been appealed and is expected to be heard in the next 10 days or so, league sources told ESPN.

Because the suspension is under appeal, Kendricks can and will make his Seahawks debut Monday night against the Chicago Bears, according to sources. Seattle needs Kendricks after already ruling out injured linebackers Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright.

The league suspended Kendricks last week after he had a meeting with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, according to sources. But Kendricks' case is a sticky one for the NFL, which has unintentionally found itself in an awkward situation.

Even though Kendricks pleaded guilty to insider trading last week, he never profited off it, made immediate restitution and has no criminal record. He is not scheduled to be sentenced until Jan. 24, when, based on federal guidelines, he could be facing 30 to 37 months in prison.

Before the Cleveland Browns released Kendricks last month, the NFL was strongly considering placing him on the commissioner's exempt list. Now the league must figure out what to do with a player involved in a white-collar crime who has tried to make amends for the situation.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Saturday that the team did all of the research it could before signing Kendricks.

"We had done a lot of homework on it," Carroll said. "It happened four and a half years ago, so it's a story that's been worked on for a long time. There's a lot of good information. We've come to learn who he is and what he's all about and how remorseful he was and how he admitted to his mistake a long time ago."

Carroll also said the Seahawks have been in communication with the league but that "there's nothing that we can really report on it. We have to respect the process right now and just wait it out."

ESPN's Brady Henderson contributed to this report.
