I wouldn't boo an Indian either.

That's like a New Yorker move.

I have no problem with Lindor supporting Allen publicly.

Or as you would put it "having his back".

I have a problem with Lindor publicly criticizing paying fans.

You really would have hated Tom Hamilton's comments the other night when it happened. He went off on the fans who booed Allen, and he was broadcasting to "38 states and half of Canada".

The fans weren't booing Allen per se.

It's not like Cody Allen made a stupid mistake.

They were booing the situation.

They aren't booing players

That's why Francona always takes the blame. If a specific person was being booed, it was Francona (for putting Allen in a save situation with better choices available)

But this is part of Francona's strategy for maximizing the team's potential come the post-season. He's evaluating Allen, trying to get him back on track.

And if he doesn't see it come October, Allen will not be placed in a position to blow a save. (unless there's absolutely no alternative like for instance a 17 inning game)

Francona is a master.

Lindor's comments about Cleveland fans booing were just stupid.

Plutko has now given up 15 HRs in 62 innings. Its not Tomlin-country (20 HR in 50+ innings), but its too many. I don't know about this guy ...

Now its 16 HR in 63 innings. 4-0 Royals. Fans showed up this weekend, too bad the Indians didn't.

Lindor is the first #Indians player with 40 2B, 30 HR, and 20 SB in a single season.

did I see Donaldson to the DL?

Yes. But it's only because he never rehabbed his previous injury, it's nothing new.

The Dodgers were 12-17 last September and made the World Series. Cleveland has the division locked in, these games are meaningless.

He said the same thing about the Cavs the past four years, and they made 4 straight Finals as well. So we're probably in good shape. smile

I can’t even begin to say how stupid this statement is. How’d we do in the finals. Oh that’s right .. lost 8 straight. So yeah not being engaged and bored is a dangerous thing. Especially in baseball. Yes these games rare meaningless from a w/l standpoint but you don’t want to get complacent because of that

Indians up 8-1 in the bottom of the 6th ...... Twins losing 4-0 to the Astros in the 3rd.

Tribe's magic number could be ten after today's action is completed.

I wonder why Adam Rosales is on the Indians’ roster.

He’s a terrible hitter. .226 career average.

Last year he batted .225 with 100 strikeouts (and only 11 walks) in 289 AB.

That’s amazingly sucky.

He had an OK 2016. (13 homers in only 214 ABs)

He’s a utility infielder. I don't know. Maybe he’s a good fielder? I mean a real, real good fielder.

Reminds me of Vern Fuller.

He's the 2018 version of Michael Martinez, just in case we need somebody to make the last out of the World Series this year.

Here's an oddity:

Tomorrow is the only day this year that the Indians are the only team scheduled to play in the American League.

(and their opponent @ Toronto)

Until October.

Wait, that's less than a month away already.

Home Run Alert!
Josh Donaldson just crushed a 2-run homer to CF. Ducks go up 3-1.

Once we clinch the AL Central we'll be able to rest these guys for a day or two every week. The MLB season is such a grind that, IMO, it will be a big edge to the Indians to be able to go into the post season with a well-rested starting lineup. Lindor will be fine. The guy I'm hoping can get ready for the post season is Bauer.

Minny got crushed by Houston today, so our magic number is now 8. laugh

Can Kluber win his 3rd Cy Young award? Or do they give it to the yankee Severino?

Severino isn't in the discussion right now because of how bad he's been lately. It's basically Chris Sale's to lose right now. If Bauer didn't get hurt he'd have a real shot. Verlander, Kluber, and Cole will all get some votes too.

Blake Snell and Cory Kluber would get both more Cy Young votes today than Chris Sale.

Sale only has 146 innings pitched and only 12 wins.

It's Chris Sale who isn't currently in the Cy Young "discussion".

Yeah, 146 IP for Sale vs 193 for Kluber is a huge difference.

Sale has an astonishing K to IP ratio. His ERA is outstanding. I think that if he had a full season, he would be the runaway winner. However, if Bauer was eliminated from contention for missing time, then Sale has to be as well.

Sale has been more valuable during those few innings than Kluber has been with more. That's the argument. I'd probably have Bauer in the discussion, but voters don't usually vote for guys who ended the year on the DL.

He just set a MLB record. Most multi-HR games in a season from the lead off spot.

Watching Bieber, its clear he won't be any more than a back-of-the-rotation starter unless he learns how to pitch to lefties. Unless or until he starts pitching inside to lefties, they are going to tattoo him. When his pitches to a lefty are middle of the plate to outside edge, he gets hit hard. When he gets in their kitchen, he has a chance. Check out his splits righty vs lefty hitters here:

http://www.espn.com/mlb/player/splits/_/id/40912/shane-bieber

LH hitters have a .950 OPS against Bieber. That's 200 pts over what is considered Major League normal (.750 OPS).
