So, say you are around NYC. There are a million songs to listen to. Here is one that might not be as obvious as others.
I know a lot of you probably dislike Elton John, but he had some very good songs. This one is about NYC. I think it is relevant because the writer, Bernie Taupin, was a small town dude and he was overwhelmed by the city. Elton was said to have loved the song because of it's optimism and despair. Those are two traits he most certainly endured his share of psychological ups and downs.
Second greatest band to ever live..........in my opinion.
It sucks they stole songs, but the talent and great songs cannot be denied.
Here is a cool story. I was living in Palm Springs for bit while fighting professionally. I attended this party where freaking Led Zep was on the grounds. I know it sounds like total BS, but I swear it happened. There were some rich, rich people in that community.
I met a kid about my age whose dad invented the Bic lighter. He was rich as [censored]. Depressed as hell. Good dude, but it taught me that money doesn't buy happiness.
Bro, just go to YouTube and highlight and copy the address bar at the top of your page when you are playing a particular song. Then, click on the 5th icon from the left on here when you are making a new reply. It's called something like "Enter a media tag." Click on the YouTube thing that is at the bottom and paste the copied information there. Preview post to make sure you did it right and you'll see it.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."
It is not possible to fall asleep at the wheel if you have this song cranked up loud.
It is, however, possible to shove pencils, pens, nails, or other sharp objects in each ear, deafening yourself, as a result of someone playing this so called song.
How about:
Or....

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
If you are driving at night, be sure to not drive w/just "One Headlight."
Bob Dylan's kid, right?
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

I don't ever drive anywhere with music, no matter how long the trip is, lol
Two summers ago, I drove from Cleveland, OH to Lubbock, Tx (and back), including "day trips" to Carlsbad Caverns and Roswell, NM and never listened to the radio once.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.
In other words: Multi-sectioned compositions that scribe an epic story arc of 30-40 minutes or more. It is a GREAT way to chew up miles of road without ever complaining about how boring the midwest landscape is.
And If I venture away from Euro-based Art Music, the best format for long-form conceptual stuff is 70's/80's Progrock. The 'concept album.'
Yes: Close To The Edge, Fragile PFM: Photos Of Ghosts ELP: Pictures at an Exhibition, Trilogy, Brain Salad Surgery Gentle Giant: Three Friends Jethro Tull: Thick as a Brick, Aqualung, Passion Play Genesis: The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, Wind & Wuthering Pink Floyd: joints from 1973-1982
I like them because they spin out a soundscape/story that lasts 40 minutes or more. It's a fantastic way to absolutely SLAY countless mindless miles. Finish one of these babies, and you've crossed 3 or 4 county lines. And they are imaginative sonic journeys, as well.
Now look- these joints aren't for peeps with short attention spans. They require a commitment of time and attention. And like all good Art, the deeper the commitment, the deeper the reward. I love taking two journeys at the same time. For cross-country long drives, nothing beats a series of long-format deep dives.
