Dan Bailey is available, but my guess is that we go with Ross Martin. Any other ideas? Is Billy Cundiff available? The Cardinals are awful, do they really need Phil Dawson?

Rumors were Minnesota was calling Bailey and he was waiting for a contender.
I bet Martin gets a call.

I think Kai Forbath may be on the list... but rams and vikings may also be in the market.

Roberto Aguayo is available and was not horrible for the Chargers in training camp and preseason.

Personally I’d love Bailey but I feel like he’s gonna go to the Vikings. My number two would be Santos. I feel for Gonzalez, I know he tries hard but you gotta make those kicks. Period. Since we drafted him he’s 17-24 on field goals. That’s a 70.8% FG percentage. That’s beyond bad. At the least you should be around 80%.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

I count four ex-Browns kickers on this list (Cundiff, Patrick Murray, Ross Martin, and The Coon).

All of OTA's. All of training camp. Second week of regular play.
Everybody is working.
All a kicker has to do is kick; period.
Kick and kick some more. He can take maybe 200 kicks a day if he wanted.
A professional kicker.
Everybody can get a kick blocked because someone else misses an assignment.
Last week the kick didn't get high enough. Now this week he can't make a extra point?
A kicker has cost two wins.
And there are lunatics blaming Hue.
I feel nothing for Gonzalez. He failed the team. It is hard enough to be in a position to win by the team.
Missing the kicks Gonzalez did? No excuses.

A kicker has cost two wins. Four if you include last year. We went 0-fer because of this turd.

There's no way we can keep him on the roster IMO

I’m all for trading Gordon for a kicker. Heck I’d trade a 3rd or 4th for a really good kicker.

j/c I'm thinking we might pick up a young guy for the practice squad and kind of put Zane on notice.

In general, I like to think that kickers can't cost you games, but they can certainly win them. Despite today and Gonzalez's obvious struggles, I'm more concerned about the offense.

I can't kick worth schmotz!
I volunteer to miss even more kicks than Gonzales for half his money guaranteed. Maybe if he were getting paid piecework for every kick made. This percentage is way too low.
We are struggling as a team on the cusp of decency. IMO it is just asking way too much to have somebody carry this kicker-person and Tyrod Taylor. It is Hue's fault that he didn't build that into his game plan. Thursday is coming. Whose turn is it to carry whom for that game?
Hopefully we have something for Gordon then.

Be interesting to see if former Cowboys’ kicker Dan Bailey can be convinced to sign with one of these kicker-needy teams. As of yesterday, Bailey had turned down appealing offers from four teams, per source. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1041650096818057216

I wonder how much the Browns players share the fans expectations that just about anything that can go wrong in a game will. Being a kicker has to be fairly nerve wracking, but being the Browns kicker with our winless season hanging overhead and recent history of things going wrong has to be extra rough.
Maybe a fresh start is best for all involved, but cutting players after bad games sets bad precedent, especially in week 2 (if they're doing things right the rest of the time).

Trade Gordon to Arizona for phil \ They may as well ... the cards don’t need Phil .... *L* Don't remind us..one of the first mistakes made when Haslam took over...we don't need a kicker, right Joe?
What has me real concerned with Gonzales, he has lost control over his kicks..one time hooking an extra point too much..next time kicking the ball straight, too far right.
...he is so inconsistent, with what seems to be more than one issue.
Is he injured?
Is the holder screwing up?
Browns can't continue to stand by a kicker who is not producing, imo.
Phil Dawson was the best kicker to put on a Browns uniform..wish he was here.

lol...his drop back was too deep but its not a difficult job as was said. Its the one freaking thing he has to do. Practice so that it should be automatic.
Yeah was hoping for Bailey but at this point got to just get rid of him. I got a bad feeling that we are not going to make a move cause we know if we don't take account for in between his ears he is a good kicker.

Santos it might be Do it... like I said in another thread - I have no confidence in Zane. I'm not going to sacrifice wins to "hope" he can pull himself outta his slump again like he did last year. Losing like we did, because we have a kicker who couldn't even bang through an extra point - is unacceptable.

I wonder how much damage this does to Gonzales confidence..it looks as though he may have lost confidence in himself.

Look at last year, he was in a slump then too and pulled himself out towards the end. I'm not willing to wait, lose more, and see if he can do it again after probably one of the worse performanes from a kicker I've seen. I call yday's game, for Zane, a "total meltdown"....

You keep a QB, or a tackle, or a specimen of a d-lineman in the hopes of him "getting it". Kicker? No. Look at that list of guys sitting on the couch at home. Nick Novak, Santos, Forbath, Walsh, Carpenter... those guys can at least kick an extra point. Get a guy in here that's reliable.

I see wins that got away, admittedly for many reasons, but this guy failed us. If I can't make field goals, win games, convert PAT's, why am I here. He needs to go.
I am just not that curious about his ego or confidence or mojo or whatever. Proven lack of mental toughness. He can have all the time he needs to discover that or solve his issues or whatever at his leisure. Everybody misses a few. And when it is a few too many, you disappear. I am appalled that he would chat this up with a "my bad, on me, I let the team and all fans down" noise like it matters. If he missed with a last second desperation 62-yard try, I get it. He proved he couldn't do his job repeatedly all game.
Next.

I will welcome Gordon and his nonsense leaving town. I would welcome Dawson. Even aged, what will he do? Miss? If Gonzales missed so often in summer in Aunts-Land, what would he manage in the Lake Effect Bowl of dead of winter here? We have seen Dawson handle it.
Any pick or trade is like a ham sammich in the deal.
